Concierge Breakfast. What to do

It depended on what we were doing that day. We were on the Wonder, so no lounge. I think we ordered in 2 days and ate out somewhere the other days. Mom and I fought over the coffee when we ordered room service. We could not get them to understand that we each needed our own pot! I know, we are crazy, we love our coffee! Ordering breakfast on the disembarkation morning worked out wonderfully, that is something I will miss not going concierge, but the $$ is not worth the convenience to me!

How have you gotten table service? Twice we've been to the MDR for breakfast (Enchanted Garden both times) and it's been a buffet. We've only been on Dream; is it different elsewhere?

Last week on Dream, Royal Palace had table service breakfast each day. Enchanted Garden was buffet.

DH and I sailed in a 1-bedroom on the Dream a couple of years ago. We ate breakfast in the lounge and at Cabanas. I had forgotten that we could order hot breakfast items to be served in our room, and not doing so once was a (small) regret after the cruise. The 1-bedroom balconies are nice and big, and it would have been nice to enjoy breakfast on it once. We did order room service from one of the MDRs for dinner one night, and I highly recommend doing that!

ETA: The brand of coffee/espresso used in the CL when we sailed was Illy. I enjoyed 1-2 cappuccinos/day, and they were delicious!

The third option (lounge, cabanas as the first two) is the Main Dining Room (MDR)... that is by far my favorite. Waiter service, good coffee, hot breakfast made to your liking... we always do a different b'fast routine every day, but find that to be the most "civilized."

We continue to be disappointed with MDR for breakfast and lunch. Wait staff not nearly as attentive as our dinner staff. Food lacking (for instance my favorite hash browns are typically soggy and/or stale in MDR but always hot and crispy in Cabanas). I get eggs or an omelet made to order most mornings in Cabana - exactly to my liking and usually hot since it immediately goes from skillet to my table! When our regular dining servers have MDR duty we may go see them for breakfast but other than that we're all about the lounge and Cabanas.

Ugh, seriously? Understandable for our first cruise because I couldn't convince myself to read the Navigator thoroughly and we just followed family around, but on #2,3,and 4 you'd think I would have caught that breakfast is in more than one MDR.

Then again, we rarely are even up in time for a true breakfast. DS and I take a LONG time to get on Eastern time, and while DH can do it fast on a work trip, it's not something he enjoys doing on leisure trips, so we're often sleeping too long to get a real breakfast.

A sit down served MDR Breakfast is held each day on cruises, occasionally it's a brunch say 9 am to noon.

If you are into a full breakfast--eggs, bacon, etc--then the Lounge won't do.

They do have enough pastries, etc to fill you up however.

So --if you are a breakfast person, then the MDR or room service--as you can see the room service menu for Concierge is pretty complete.

Done 3 cruises in 1Bdr suites and we generally end up eating breakfast in the lounge. Once or twice a cruise we will do Royal Palace sit down breakfast and maybe 1 day we do the room service breakfast in room (usually CC day).
As mentioned several different times the breakfast in the lounge is not a full breakfast type fare (with only cold items) but it is definitely enough to fill you up. Having the coffee machine in there is awesome too!
We really enjoy the lounge all around so we utilize it as much as we can!

I just had a regular Concierge room so i wasn't able to order full breakfasts from room service but what I did was wake up and go to the lounge for a quick bite, hit the gym, and then get my full breakfast at Cabanas.

Thats the concierge one to order for your room. Cabanas doesnt have a set menu.

However only suites can order for their room, right? I'm in a cat V can I still order off that menu?

Correct, you have to be in a Cat R or T to order the full breakfast to your stateroom. They need to be able to set up a dining room table for the meal.

DH loves Cabanas for the speed but the selection for breakfast is great. I love the fresh fruit station. My brother likes to go to restaurants for breakfast and is very picky about his breakfast so went to the MDR every day and complained about it every day. Finally, on the last day, DH asked him exactly what he wanted and what was wrong with what he got. Everything he wanted was available in Cabanas hot, fresh and quick. Next cruise he will try Cabanas.

i cant imagine needing anything else than what Cabanas offers for breakfast. We are sailing our first Concierge in April and cant wait to see what its all about. It would be nice to be away from the crowds a bit but the breakfast in Cabanas is not that crazy, but we tend to go one the later side of things

You are in a great position. You have three choices. We played it by ear every morning. We only ended up ordering hot breakfast twice because of the limited ordering window. Concierge lounge food is great, but not a full breakfast. Cabanas has great food and a big selection. It can be a little chaotic, but it is easy to swing through and grab a full breakfast quickly. Just wake up and see what you feel like doing! Have a great cruise!

I drink iced black coffee every morning and it would be great if I could have a pressed pot and keep in my fridge each day for the following morning. It worked out great in the Haven on NCL and hoping I can do it next month on the Dream.

The coffee machine is top end and the quality equals pressed coffee. You could take out some and cool it in your fridge. The CL is open 7 am to 10 pm. Ordinary coffee can be ordered from room service in a thermos

We bring our own press pot on the cruise. DH will drink just about anything that resembles coffee. On the other hand, I am very picky.
