DW and I have been chillin in the garden today, swaying in the hammock and making plans for our upcoming cruise. We are going concierge in a one bedroom suite and got talking about breakfast. My thought is to order it to the room so we can take our time and enjoy the verandah whereas she wondered if we should be going to the MDRs.
What are people's opinions who have done both?
What will we miss if we skip the MDRs for breakfast?
Thanks

Breakfast on the ship doesn't work like dinner. Only one MDR will be open and its the same menu every day with possibly a featured Skillet of the day. You just then turn up whenever you fancy breakfast during opening hours. I haven't sailed Conceirge so don't know whether you get a hot menu option for breakfast or not but I would assume if you do it is the same menu as the MDR. In normal rooms however you only get a continental breakfast option in the room.

I would say use and go to the concierge lounge there is a lot of food there from 7am, the hot breakfast to room is limited to the time the MDR serving hot breakfast is open, not all hours and then they send someone up with it. So things like toast is going to be rubber and not hot.

Yes for a lay in and sea day might be worth it, but your far better using the CL and then going to Cabanas.

I ate breakfast in the lounge each day. You could also send someone to grab food and bring it back to the room if you prefer. My parents took DD to cabanas one time for Mickey waffles but even she preferred the lounge and she's only 3.

We ate most of our breakfasts in the lounge and occasionally went to Cabanas when we wanted more options. They had these pastries with kiwi, mango and icing that were to die for.

We prefer not to have food smells in our 1 bedroom so we go to the lounge for breakfast. There is a wide choice of breakfast foods and we enjoy using the coffee machine.

Since we had a whole group (3 staterooms) we'd usually nibble in the lounge as people woke up and then head to Cabanas.

Thanks for the replies. I take it then that Cabanas has a wider choice than the lounge?

We were on a classic ship, so no lounge. We tried the buffet the first morning, and found it fine. The second morning we ordered from the concierge breakfast menu and enjoyed it more. The options were great and we enjoyed being able to eat before we got ready (and have each family member able to get ready at their own pace). DW and I ate on the verandah watching the water while the kids ate at the table in the suite watching Mickey. We ordered room service every day afterwards. Delivery was timely and the order was always accurate. I brought some small bills so I just tipped as they came, but you can charge your tips to the room if you don't want to bring cash.

OP; after trying all 3 options (Lounge, Cabanas or Room Service), we now usually eat breakfast in the Lounge. So my advice would be to try all options for yourself to see which you prefer. For us each option had their own set of pros & cons. However what we prefer, could be a turn off for you. Bottom line, since you are the best judge of what works best for you; check them out yourself.

We really enjoyed breakfast in the lounge. It's not at all crowded, and there were a lot of tasty choices for breakfast, especially if you like to eat a healthier breakfast. I really enjoyed the fresh fruit and yogurt. They also had sliced meats and cheeses available, plus the typical pastries and such you'd find with a continental breakfast. My favorite part of the lounge is the fancy coffee machine! I love having espresso at breakfast.

We ate breakfast in the lounge everyday. There were plenty of options. The only day we went to the MDR was on debarkation day, and I definitely missed the calmness of the concierge lounge (and the coffee!)

So by all your replies so far the CL is good for a light breakfast, coffee and juices but if we want something to set us up for the rest of the Cabanas is the way to go.
Is tha about right?
