Since we do not have to pick an arrival time, what is the best time to get there in the morning. We are driving in from South Florida. Thank you!

Any time you want.
If you are there before they start embarking, then you will be in Group 1.
If you are there after they start embarking, you can board as soon as you finish checking in.

Anytime after 11:00.
Last time I went was 11:15, I have seen it as late as 12:15.

Yes but if you are concierge you do not need to arrive too early, if embarkation is 11.15 and tour in by then your on first.

I'm also interested in this. From the pictures I've seen the port is pretty crowded just to get in at 10:00. Is there a long wait, my son is special needs and I'm trying to figure out what time to show up. Also concierge. Ty

I arrived this past Thursday by 11:45 and was on the boat by 12:15. The port was very crowded but there were only 3 families checking in at the concierge desk. That took about 15 minutes. It was a nice way to start the vacation.

It takes about 30-40 minutes to park and check in. Concierges has a special area to check in and will board first. They usually start boarding about 11:15.
If it would be easier for him for the terminal not to be crowded arrive about 12:15-12:30. They have usually cleared the terminal by then.

I didn't think the port opened until 10:30.?

I didn't know what time it opened. First time cruiser here. I use these boards to plan things out. I don't post on here often but read all the time. Don't recall reading this topic. I love to read what all you vets have to say. It's actually the best research you can get!

Parking has been opening at 10:00 with the terminal opening at 10:30.

Hijacking this post. If we are staying at MCO Hyatt the night before what is a good time to get on the disney shuttle? (we're also concierge)

I'd suggest an arrival at the port of about 10:45. That should be a good time to drop the luggage, park, clear security and check-in by the time they actually (normally) start boarding around 11:15.

The terminal is pretty crowded early on. Boarding begins around 11:15am; if you arrive much before 10:45am you'll have to deal with crowds/lines getting through security into the terminal. Once inside, since you are concierge, you will have a separate check-in and waiting area that hopefully isn't as bad - though it isn't terribly large. Depending on your sons needs, you might time your arrival to be around 12:15/12:30 for little or no crowds -- most of the early passengers have cleared out of the terminal by that point and it's sort of the sweetspot between early crowds and those arriving from the WDW resorts.

Enjoy your cruise!

We like to get to Concierge early enough to board with the first group, because if you don't you might not get into the lounge upon arrival and instead will have to find some place to land for a while. We were almost turned away when we got there about 12:00, and only got in because a couple was leaving as we were arriving. The officer outside the door got so far as to say, "I'm sorry. The lounge is full. You can go to Caban... Oh. Somebody's leaving. Please come on in." The couple behind us was turned away because there were too many people in the lounge once we entered.

Of course, this is assuming you're on a Dream class ship, which has a Concierge lounge.

This is exactly what happened to us on Thursday. We got on the boat and went to the Concierge lounge and were told to go drop our stuff off at the room because the lounge was currently full. We came back like 10 minutes later and got in though.

The folks behind us weren't even told they could drop their stuff off. They had to take it with them. That's nice that they'll let you drop it off in your room now.

just off as of thursday and I would have to agree. We got there about 1015. Waited in line till 1030 when they opened the gates. Got through security and then checked in no problem. Was in the lounge with the first group, but it was PACKED.

Only beer and wine is offered for embarkation cocktail hour btw.

We were in the room by noon.

Shoreside really screwed up a lot of our requests and failed to note my husband's food allergy. I was not impressed with concierge. The room was very nice though. We just realized we aren't cruise people. I can't do the crowds.
