We are going on the Eastbound Transatlantic and have always done concierge on the dream class ships. We are booked in a cat 4a stateroom but saw that there are 1br concierge rooms available but they are twice what we are paying for the regular room. Since it is a 14 day cruise, would it be worth it? I am also worried about the availability of the excursions since we are only silver members.

I have never done the TA cruise, but have been in 1 bedroom concierge on the Magic past 2 cruises. IMO it is completely worth it especially for 7 or more nights. We booked 1 of the 4 mid ship which seem roomier than the other 1 bedrooms because the living room is wider, and being right by the midship elevators made everything super convenient. We love the extra space, extra bathroom and the extra special magic the concierge provide. The new lounge was added before our 2nd sailing in concierge, and made it even more magical. That said I wouldn't pass up a TA regardless of the category based on what I could afford at the time.

our disney cruises the last two years were Cat V (concierge studio) on the dream. this year DH and I did a regular room on the magic - we booked before the concierge lounge was announced, and felt concierge wasn't worth the extra $$$ without the lounge. boy, were we wrong. i don't know if they really are, but the rooms and especially the split bath on the magic feel way smaller than the dream. the toilet area was really claustrophobic. we also had some issues with our room (like a speaker that wouldn't shut off and kept playing disney music all day in our room - it took them 3 of our 4 days to fix it. now i know why people use music as torture!), and i think things would have been resolved more quickly with a concierge backing us up.

put it this way - we are planning on doing the panama canal on wonder in fall 2017 (presuming it exists - dates aren't announced yet), which is the same length as a transatlantic, and this past cruise on the magic convinced us beyond a doubt that concierge is the way to go, even at double the price. we need the space, especially for 13 or 14 nights.

Thanks for the responses. We went ahead and booked the 1 bedroom. Concierge has been so valuable on our other trips and has made the experience incredible. There weren't any left midship so we got a forward suite. So excited!

congrats! no matter where on the ship it is, i'm sure it will be fantastic. :) and i think totally the right call in my book for such a long cruise!

We've done concierge on both the Magic and Dream. We also cruised concierge in a 1 bedroom for the eastbound transatlantic cruise to Copenhagen in May.
Our Michelle was an angel, and we totally appreciated the space, extra TV, bath tub and daily treats. We didn't utilize the daily late afternoon "happy hour" in the lounge that often. In comparison I preferred the concierge status and lounge on the Dream. Was it worth it? yes. Would I cruise concierge on the Magic again? I don't think so, even though it's alot more economical than cruising concierge on the Fantasy. Going as a family I might consider it. Going as a couple definately not.
