DD and family are leaving in 3 weeks staying at AOA

I read that the construction was supposed to start yesterday (5-1) anyone staying there

DD is getting concerned about this so

are there any updates as to where and what the construction is happening

thanks all

We are at AoA right now. I've seen zero construction so far. I've seen a few small crews planting bushes/shrubs but that's it. Haven't gone over to hourglass lake though.

I thought in another thread someone mentioned they'd be starting on the gondola system soon?

For now. Nobody knows what it's going to be like once they start on the overhead gondola station on Hourglass Lake.

I have no idea what/where that is since I have never stayed there before....Oct is my first trip at that resort. When I spoke with the CM booking my trip they just said landscaping.

I was very concerned about this too. We arrive 5/20. I sent an email to Disney and a cast member called me back on Monday. I was told that the construction was on/near the bridge that connects Pop and AoA only.

That shouldn't affect much in terms of guests using the resort. If anything we might see the bridge close but that's about it.

On the way back from Epcot I noticed at least one bulldozer or similar out at the edge of the parking lot near the entrance. Stacked next to it was some building materials. So I think they are gearing up for something larger than just landscaping.

If the bridge closes, it could significantly impact the guests. Many people go back and forth between the AofA/Pop food court and buses. Most people don't want to walk around Hourglass Lake.

Probably the biggest impact will be for the people staying in the lakeside 60's/70's rooms at Pop. Many of those rooms will be facing the construction.

It won't be major construction to affect your stay much tho. It's on the bridge not next to your room. We also don't know if the bridge will need to close or not.

I was also concerned as we will be there next week. I noticed the construction notification on the Disney website today when showing family members what the little mermaid room looked like.

That's just it. We really don't know. Construction I can deal with, but we cross the bridge daily when we stay at Pop or AOfA.

Today is our check out day. Straight out from the lobby is now a large crane that is driving something into the ground. Think loud repeated hammering. Don't know what they are doing exactly but it's fairly major. Would easily be heard from the Cars section. Other sections are likely too far away.

It might be road construction. Probably is. But it's loud.

Ugh, this is my nightmare. I have LITERALLY had nightmares about this sound. I work a stone's throw from 95 and they are always doing road work. For an entire summer we heard that hammering when they were putting some kind of supporting structure in the ground. It was bad enough at work, it would make me lose my mind.
We have a stay there booked for November. I'm anxious to see what becomes of it

Is this ON AoA property? in the parking lot? Out on the road or maybe across the road where they new DHS entrance is going?

There is plenty going on across the road ... am sure the noise carries. Here is photo from bioreconstruct where you can see how close ... and this was in February. More going on now.

@bioreconstruct
Trees cleared for new parking entrance to Disney's Hollywood Studios from Osceola Pwy (near ESPN WWOS intersection, Victory Way).

I'm pretty sure it's on the road. Not on AoA property. But it was very loud and depending on where you are staying could be quite annoying. Doubt you could hear it from Little Mermaid or Lion King sections. Not sure about Nemo
