Concerns about CSR on trip advisor site

Just read a few reviews for the CSR that were a little disheartening. It is so confusing trying to pick a resort and then once you pick one, you find things you didn't originally know about it. I've never checked the trip advisor reviews for CSR until after we decided that was our resort and then I kind of was:scared1: Any input would be great. THANKS!

I know you can't believe everything you read with people and their comments but it does kind of sit the wrong way when you read about people and their experiences. I know that doesn't mean you are necessarily going to have an experience equal to theirs but it does kind of raise a mini red flag, ya know? Thanks again!

What did the Trip Advisor site say that was negative?
We love the CSR. We are staying there for the 7th time this September and have been the past two Septembers. I will tell you what we have experienced. Great CM's, terrific housekeeping, good food at the Pepper Market, great gift shop, wonderful quiet pools, great massage at the spa, beautiful landscaping, romantic walks with my DH in the evening. What we haven't experienced: obnoxious conventioneers (they have always been friendly and have never bothered us or created problems at the Pepper Market or at the pool); bus service--we rent a car so we never use the buses (we have heard they are some of the best however).

If you want any specific information, feel free to send me a PM mail and I will try to answer.

Don't worry about what you read. Everybody is different. My DW, DS and DD and myself all love POP, you will here a lot of people who do not like it. We have been to WDW over 40 times according to Disney. You have to know what to expect. It is like no other vacation you will ever take. The people are loud, at al hours. People get up early to go to the parks and get in late from the parks, you have to expect that. Don't think you will back to your room at 10:00pm and have quiet, it won't happen. This is for every resort. If you like CSR, then go to CSR and have a great time. Nobody else controlls your vacation, you do. What ever happens just roll with it. I gurantee you will have a great time. If you have any questions feel free to PM me.

Just took a look and geeze these people should at least look at the resort before they booked. The only valid complaint is the fact it is spread out.
Something I don't mind having stayed far out at PO and FW. Many of them old ones..and now they have an internal shuttle. You have done your homework and if it fits it fits.
There are going to be blips...but it is a vacation and the staff are human too. Mixups happen at the best hotels.

This is only one of the many CSR threads on the resort board. Check out Buzz2001 CSR site for pictures and info.

I love CSR and will be there next month. This will be my 3rd stay at CSR and I've never had a problem. Yes, it's big but it's beautiful. The Pepper Market doesn't suit everyone. No matter where you go, there'll be complaints but I'll bet you'll love CSR.

I love CSR. Think it is really pretty, like the rooms, like the main building. It's a very relaxing place, IMO.

I have a love/hate thing going on with the Pepper Market. I love the place and the food, but I hate that stupid fee and boycott the place because of it. I'm sure they're really feeling the loss of my 5 meals a year. ;)

I would check out the FAQ thread here and Buzzs site is really great.
Did you check reviews on allearsnet.com ?

I have noticed that many of the less favourable reviews are from coventioneers. Perhaps what they want from a hotel is differet to what we holiday makers want. Im not even slightly concerned. I trust Disneyholics on this site and their views far more than any Tripadvisor reviewer. Unfortunately I trusted Tripadvisor, booked Pop and hated it!

I wouldn't worry about it one bit. CSR is a great resort! You won't know for yourself if you don't try it.

CSR is a great resort, but only you can personally decide if it's right! It sounds like you did your research and based on that chose CSR... thats a great start; something I doubt half the people on tripadvisor did.

I can't read reviews as no two families can have the same "experience." What's great for one family, isn't always great for another; and each family has certain likes, dislikes, tastes, etc.

Some people have extremely high expectations with these resorts (understandable with what Disney charges) and the slightest issue can taint the entire stay.

Check-in with an open mind, prepared with what you know about the resort, and just sit back and enjoy it! If you see something that your not happy with or dont like, don't be afraid to ask or tell someone either.

Not to be unkind but.....

Your first mistake was reading reviews AFTER you decided on a resort. You picked Coronado Springs for a reason that fit you and your family.

Your second mistake was treating a review like it was gospel. Were any of the reviews written by someone in your EXACT position? Same ages, same time of year, kids ages the same? If not, then why take them to heart?

I read glowing reviews on here for a resort that I've tried not once but twice and we wouldn't ever go back there again. Because it didn't fit US.

I have to admit that Coronado Springs is not my favorite moderate but I wouldn't say it's horrible. It's just that one other moderate fits our needs better. Coronado Springs is our second favorite moderate.

I am not a CSR fan, but the truth is that the rooms are clean and it's a Disney moderate. If I get the deal I want I stay there. (It is my last choice on the moderates simply because in three of three stays I have had "clueless and/or indifferent CMs" at check in. Yes, I expect the room to have POWER!:lmao: )

You do have to read TripAdvisor with some degree of seperation.

I just read a review on a hotel I am considering for next December in Jamica. Some of the issues!

Issue 1. I hated it because my DH and I got a double bedded room instead of a king. (HINT It's a hotel that caters to families. :lmao:)

Issue 2. I hated it because the rooms are old (HINT: A week here costs $1,000 less then at any other all inclusive :rotfl2: )

As I read them I kept thinking. "Where did these people think they were going?"

Don't worry about a few negative reviews! I've never understood people who get online and act like their Disney hotel was some kind of dump and every last thing they ate at Disney was horrendous. I mean, where do these people live -- the Hotel Ritz in Paris? Geez.

I, personally, am just thrilled to stay someplace where someone else makes the bed and someone else cooks the meals. Anything over and above is icing on the cake. :)

Enjoy your stay at CSR!!! You'll LOVE it!

I have found that people will write really long reviews about a stay they feel was HORRIBLE and many people won't write reviews about a WONDERFUL stay. I think it makes people feel better if they "vent" in a review.

That being said, I have posted a couple of reviews on Trip Advisor and on other websites. I try to be as truthful as possible and post not only the bad stuff but the good stuf as well.

I would suggest you do as the other posters have said.....view Buzz's site, read the reviews here on the boards and check out the reviews on www.allearsnet.com. I think you'll find that your fears will be placed at rest.

I always find the trip advisor reviews on the WDW hotels to be off-putting. I read them with a grain of salt. Maybe they are more likely to be business travelers who are rating their vacation hotel or something.

CSR is a pretty resort and I can certainly see why it is the favorite of many. I prefer POR/POFQ just because of theming but everything else is very similar. I think it is good to understand the layout and amenities of CSR and if you like that and the theming no reason not to stay there.:thumbsup2
