Concerned a bit...

When I booked our SSR staying that's coming up a while back it was after the new computer system started. We intended to have 2 different dining plans so I booked it as 2 segments under one travel number. We've since decided to skip DDP altogether. I called MS to confirm that even though we are broken into 2 segments we won't have to change rooms. She assured me we won't but now I'm not convinced I guess.

So with NO DDP...but 2 segments...do you think we will only have to check in once and get to stay in the same room?

Yes, I think you will be fine. It is really no different than people who have wait list reservations come through. Those were always different reservations but linked.

Once linked, they keep you in the same room. Have a great trip!

Yes you will be okay and stay in one room. We just returned from a trip that had two segments b/c of a waitlist. I got the first 4 nights right away at 7 months but the last 4 had to be waitlisted and when they came through the reservation was now in two segments but "linked" together. When we checked in our room cards indicated our whole length of stay, not in two segments.

You should not worry. You will be able to stay in the same room without moving. I've had multiple reservation numbers many times for the same room type. I once had a 4 night stay that was actually 3 separate reservation numbers do to wait lists coming through. I have never had to change rooms.

When you check in just make certain they have you listed as checking out on the last day of your second segment. At least 1/2 of the time when we have links they show us checking out after the first link. They can correct it. Do not just allow them to tell you it will be ok. I made that mistake on our last trip and housekeeping kept trying to kick my nephew out of his room. I had questioned the front desk when we checked him in and they assured me there would be no checking in/out required even though what they had shown me had the earlier check out. On previous stays the CM's had always re-checked us in and corrected the check out date and there were no problems.
