Concern for someone spending TOO much $$ on Disney

Have you offered to pay the college tuition? Or set up a summer schedule to tutor the daughter?

You could also go around your house and select antiques and other items and give them to the Mom so she can sell them on eBay and make some money.

You are such a dear, concerned friend..... I salute you.....

Why is this your concern, first thing.

Second, I paid for my own tuition and books using student loans. It's not the worst thing in the world. I expect very little from my parents.

If the daughters grades are falling, it has nothing to do with her mother spending time on here. It has to do with the daughter not placing the attention she should on school. She can control her own grades, especially if she's a high school student.

Third, the mother is an adult. If she wants to spend her money on Disney trips then she can do it. It's not as though she's gambling her money away playing the gambling machines every night while in a drunken stupor.

If I didn't know better, I would think this was my sister posting-we are Italian Irish (Garlic and Gaelic), and my sister is always asking why we go to WDW so often (my response-if you have to ask, you wouldn't understand!), and I do have a tendancy to visit ebay and purchase disney trinkets, and I do have a child entering senior year of H.S., and she may have registered last Aug. right after I told her I was taking her to WDW, and I just told this sister about trip to WDw I just booked.....all I can say is........Sis-this better not be you:rolleyes: Okay, ramble over.

Okay, just noticed OP spelled Gaelic "Gealic". Definitely not my sister:smooth:

kteacher how are your dd's grades?

my incoming senior is a son, and his grades did drop at the beginning of junior year.........but my sister is too type A to misspell Gaelic. Just very weird that the registration date for the OP is my mother's BD, the same day I told my sister I was taking her to WDW..........this is a little twilight zone for me:earseek:

They did reply to you back in March about going to a costume party dressed as Jackie Gleason - ring any bells?

I took it as her daughter doesn't have the grades therefore maybe she won't get a scholorship or grants to pay for school. and while her mom is going to disney twice a year her daughter might not go to school? I would be concerned too? doesn't sound "trollish" to me. Sounds like someone might actually care for a neighbor and a friend. And by calling this poster a troll and making her feel so welcome we might not get to see her come back and post a follow up. And no addiction is good especially if it takes away from your family and your ability to control your self. I have had many addictions and gambling is one of them. it would not be any better if I took that money and put it to disney, it would still be taking away from my family and their needs. No I don't have college money for my kids.. I am not that lucky enough to have extra money now. but if I did have that kind of money you bet I would put it away for them (now that I have the gambling in order).

this is to the op...

I hope you don't feel bad about all the posts that are calling you a "troll". Sometimes when people don't understand what they read and or disagree the troll word comes out all to often.

comming from someone would is prone to addiction I think it is very commenable that you are careing for your friend.

My neighbor takes at least two trips to either WDW................

Her daughter's grades have slipped this last semester, because her Mom has spent TOO much time on the DIS board,

How to spot a troll......1)Very Low post count 2) Posts controversial post on first few posts 3) How in the world does she know her neighbor spends too much time on the DIS? We all have "aliases"!!! :p

ok can I say oops:rolleyes:

and boy do I feel stupid... I was wondering why everyone was jumping

She isn't just worried about her neighbor spending too much $$$ on Disney. She's worried about every DISer spending too much $$$ on Disney.

She also thought Kteacher must need a lawyer in this thread (about where an oscillating fan should point).

I agree. T R O double LL, that spells TROLL!

The wonderful thing about trolls, there's not a wonderful thing!
They're heads are made out of wood, their butts are made out *things*
They're stupid stupid stupid stupid stoooooopid!
The most wonderful thing about trolls is there's not a wonderful thing! *sung to the tune of the Tigger song*

Ummm Kteacher, most of G&G's posts are in reply to things that YOU have said (I think only one had to do with something else). Very strange.

Gina...go back and read Kteacher's posts....I really think this is someone who knows her(check the OP's previous posts)

will do that..... I honestly don't know how I skipped over the DIS part... all I saw was she was worried for her neighbor and everyone called her a troll lol
