okay, what categories get conceirge service, and what all does that service include (and how much extra should you be budgeting for tips)???

Basically it looks like concierge level staterooms would cost us on average $300 more per person, than 2 category 11 staterooms would cost us. We're just wondering if it's worth the extra money. :)

Only in the suites, category 1, 2 and 3. I'm surprised it is as close as a $300 difference. If you can get a suite for that little more, JUMP ON IT!!!:D :D :D

I have to agree. If you can get a suite level room for only $300 more than 2 Cat 11's then go for it. In our experiece it has been a lot more money for the Suites.

The concierge level cabins are the suites: Cats 1, 2, or 3. The aminities you receive are: pre-boarding, a meeting with the concierge team to make all of your reservations(Palo, spa, hairbraiding, and so on). Everyday the cocierge team will check on you and give you a weather report for the next day. Sometimes they bring coloring books and/or acarde cards for the kids. And every afternoon/evening you will receive a plate of goodies. You can order off of all dinning room menus for room service. And for your tips you just fill out the paper and give it to the concierge team and then they will take care of getting the slips for the CMs. Tips are not higher with the suites so you will not have to budget anymore for them then you would for two Cat 11s. Tips are based on the number of people cruising not on the level of room.

Many people will tell you they like the space for the extra room and not the concierge service. We like the suite for the extra space and the convenience with reservations. We also like having the concierge team available should we need something.

I have to agree with LeiLani - the convenience of not having to do the "Ressie" rush... is worth it.

The Concierge team we've dealt with on both of our trips made the experience even more enjoyable... and of course the extra room is definitely worth it.

you guys are great! I knew you'd be able to give me good info :)

We're cruising in June in a Cat. 2 on the Magic. Does anyone know who is Concierge? Is it a single person or a team? TIA

Lisa,

It is normally a team. Leilani was just on the Magic and may be able to tell you who it was.....

There is a lead person and an assistant....

We are taking an extended family cruise in 2005 on the Magic. One group of us is in a cat 2 and another is in a cat 4. Are those of us in the cat 2 able to include those in the cat 4 (my sister, her husband and their 4 yo) when making reservations, pre-boarding etc? The ressie's are linked for meal service already. This is our first Disney Cruise and it is all new - any comments would be appreciated - thanks.

Actually on our first cruise (May '99) there was only one person. On our second cruise (May 2002) it was a team (Christina & Thierry) ~ they were fabulous.

We're sailing on Dec 4 in a Cat 3, with my parents in the connecting Cat 4. We were told by DCL and the TA that we can have them pre-board with us and go to the concierge reservation session upon boarding, etc.

Enjoy!

Lisa,

Like Virgil said, we just got off the Magic and the concierge team was Luciana and Thierry. I do not know if they will still be there in June because like all the CMs they have a contract, but they were a great team.

surfdisney,

On our cruise 2 weeks ago we were in a Cat 1 and my DHs parents were in a Cat 6. They checked-in and boarded with us and we took them to the concierge meet in Sessions. All the Palo reservations we made under our room and I do not know about spa reservations because they did not do any.
