I just bought an older computer that was used at a daycare center that closed in my area.

The kids played with it for hours on a DOS system game that was the biggest selling point. I got it home and for some reason the keyboard is not working! I checked the drivers, the settings, I just don't know what I did wrong!

I connected my USB keyboard from my laptop and it worked after rebooting the system BUT would not work with the DOS.

I am NOT a technical type so if someone could help me I'd truly appreciate it!

TIA,

Robinrs

Try getting a PS/2 keyboard instead and see if that works. It might have something to do with the USB and DOS.

The keyboard that came with the computer is a PS2, I tried the other one because it didn't work.

I keep thinking I left out a step or something.

You might just have a broken keyboard. My suggestion was getting a new PS2 keyboard and trying that on.

I was afraid of that DSK.

Oogie, I tried another keyboard that I know works and still no good. It lights up for a second and then nothing.

:(

Went back to the daycare, the owner gave me two new keyboards to connect to it, neither worked... :(

I guess I'll have to check with a techie. I cannot imagine what I'm doing wrong! Maybe the connection in the back of the CPU is bad?
