Sometimes when I put a CD in my computer it will not automatically start. Some do, some do not. The ones that no longer do used to, though. With the kids CD's I don't save the cases--we just put all the CD's into a CD holder (the kind with pages) so I can't read any instructions to see how to manually get the CD's to play. What would cause my computer to do this? It's possible that I may have deleted some program(s) when I was doing a scan to look for unauthorized programs (like coolweb, yahoo toolbar that may have gotten downloaded on to my computer) and I just deleted anything that looked like it didn't belong on my computer (I know now that I should make sure what I am deleting first). Any suggestions, advise or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! :)

Run Windows Explorer, find your CD drive (usually D) and look for a setup.exe file. There usually is one. Double click on that and it should run your program.

To run Windows Explorer, right click on your Start button and select "Explore."

If the CD has auto-play capabilities, right clicking your d drive will reveal and Autoplay option. Also if your computer is busy doing other things, may take a while to auto play. Also, not all CD's have this capability.
