my taskbar? I figured it out a few months ago, but my dad was fooling around with my computer and now those items are back when I start up my computer.

Any ideas?

TIA!

Marcia

Click on Start, control panel, taskbar I believe.

I am not sure - I switched from Win98 to XP while back and I have already forgotten win98 :lol sorry

hmmm...I can get to the control panel, but can't find anything about the taskbar...any hints? it is windows 98

<font face="Comic Sans MS"><font color=#006400>Try and right-click on your taskbar, and click on the menu ... you should be able to manipulate the buttons to delete them, hide them, etc.

just figured it out! right clicking only helps with some...and some only temporarily. But I remembered how to run msconfig.

Thanks!

Marcia

An easier way for those who aren't comfortable going into msconfig or regedit (both can possibly do damage)

Start-->Settings-->Taskbar

Click on Start Menu Programs then click on Remove.

Go into your Startup Menu and remove the applications you don't want.

This will not always work as some will not be in there. in those cases you have to either uninstall the software, or do the msconfig/regedit bit.

Also msconfig is not in NT, 2000, or XP (Also 95 I believe)
