There is a network - which shall remain nameless - which allows you to download top games for lovely prices :lovestruc

£3.99 here, £3.99 there... it all seems innocent enough. But suddenly you've bought like 30 games and you're over £100 out of pocket.

Granted, many of the games rule... but that's not gonna get your moolah back, is it?

I need more self control :crutches:

I used to have a big-time Civilization monkey on my back. Didn't cost anything but the price of the game...and the hours sucked out of my life, never to return.

I've been tempted to buy Civ V, but then I'd have to go to rehab again, and it's not worth it.

Let me guess, Steam?

Oh yeah, the sales can do a number on your wallet. I've stopped buying stuff because I have too many and need to play some!

Steam
GOG

Oh, yeah. BTDT

DH has a thing going on with this Marvel Superheroes game. Free to play w/first character, to a certain level. After that, you have to play to earn upgrades or purchase them....he's obsessed with Daredevil and Captain America right now...

And I have my WoW thing....but I don't buy the extra mounts/pets. I really want to---but I don't. I do, however, spend the money on Disney jigsaw puzzles on Amazon. /hangs head in shame

ETA: I bought NWN (1 & 2 and all updates); BG 1 & 2 (and all updates); Icewind Dale 1 & 2 (and again, all updates); Diablo 1, 2 and 3 (and all updates)....multiple times. On disks, when they first came out; then again on a few of them, when the disks got ruined by DD2 (don't even get me started on that); and now purchased online, after Steam/GOG fixed things for updated O/S. Used to play EQ, also, until they made my female shaman get man hands and totally screwed up my gameplay----that's when I went to WoW...

Thankfully, the game I am obsessed with (and have been since it came out) is complete, no more expansion packs or stuff packs to buy! I play The Sims 2. I don't like Sims 3 or Sims 4 so I'm not buying those. I do however have a custom content addiction. Although it's free, there is a lot out there and I need it all for my game obviously. It is a rabbit hole and can be very time consuming.

I'm a Sims player too! :) Started with the Original, then Sims 2 and now Sims 3 for years. I'd like to go back to playing 2 but no matter which disc I insert into the computer it says it's not the right one. So I haven't been able to figure that out. :( So far I have not given in and bought Sims 4, although my willpower is beginning to wane. But gosh, it's $60 for the base game and already there is an expansion pack out for it. I just don't want to spend more money on Sims I guess. But I do love playing! That's really the only game I'm "addicted" to on the computer.

I play a few little games on my phone (like at the doctor's office, for example) like Fruit Quest and solitaire. I do have a My Talking Tom, and am up to level 167 on that. But to pay for games on my phone? I don't do that.

I haven't even played half the games in my steam library lol. I just buy them at great prices and then forget. Skyrim is my favorite. 120+ hours. Also terraria...and starbound.

Don't bother buying the Sims 4. I'm a hard core Sims fan since the very first game. Sims 4 is just... Horrible. I mean, I think they're making it better slowly but it was not a complete game when released. I'll stick with Sims 3 for now.

Thanks for the heads up. I want to read some of the Sims 4 threads on their message board too. I know a lot of the expansion packs, etc. in Sims 2 and Sims 3 have had problems, with patch after patch to "fix" things. I wish they would make sure the game works RIGHT before putting it out on the market and having people spend money on it, only to be dissatisfied with how it runs, etc.

The game runs much better than the previous ones which is presumably what the devs were going for when they removed the instanceless neighborhoods. But it's because the game has no content! They didn't even have pools or toddlers when they released it. And the neighborhoods are super small and weirdly instanced. Like you click on a section and you can visit three or four houses there. I think they're releasing an expac soon or maybe they have by now... But I won't play until there are more neighborhoods and customization.

I go to Big Fish but manage to stay under control. I'm too cheap not to. ;)

I'm addicted to slots games on my tablet. I am so tempted to buy coins when I run out, but then I think of how stupid it is to buy fake money with real money.

I play Sims 2 too! I brought all of the expansion and stuff packs- cost me a pretty penny but I'm quite proud of my collection.

I love the Humble Bundle. You can pick up games for a song! My favourite one was when they did a load of EA games. I got like 5 games for $1.

Sadly, yes, that is my vice. Just bought - for a premium - the new Batman game! Didn't dawn on me, (more fool me) that I won't actually get the game for another 3 weeks :crazy2:
