Im having issues with some sites I like to do--Ill put in the bowers the name of the site and either I get a message connection reset or it just keeps spinning.

I asked about this before and tried what was suggested like waiting awhile and trying again or checking settings and neither worked.

I checked something in settings and changed something and it worked for a day and then it was right back to not working.

I do these on foxfire and brave on the advice of someone on here quite some time ago which worked great for a long time.

are there any other browsers to try or if theres any other place I could go to figure this out
Id appreciate any help thanks

Sorry not sure anything about doing a speed test.
How do you do it and what does it do
So far I’ve done IE chrome Firefox and brave
I added Firefox and brave the first time I had issues but thanks for the tip

It’s simple
When you say you lag/spin, it sounds like a connection issue.

I work from home, and we ONLY use chrome, so many things don’t work, or don’t work well on Firefox,

It sounds like issues related to those sites (again). I don't think it's going to browser specific.

Have you tried incognito mode? If they work there, there's some extension you have enabled that is causing problems.
Have you tried accessing the sites from your phone/tablet? If they work there, there's a computer specific issue.
Have you tried rebooting? If there's some kind of memory leak on your PC, this can help.

You can also go into the control panel, choose Internet Options (assuming you're on a PC and not a mac) and delete cookies and saved websites. This can fix a whole host of browser problems.

That would only affect IE or Edge, wouldn't it? Each browser should have it's own "clear cache" settings.

Ah. Yes. Firefox, you have to look under settings and then choose Privacy and Security to clear the cache. It's worth a try.

ok Im trying to do everything thats been suggested and with my limited use of computers youll have to tell where and how to find these things
I have no clue with cashe is or to even find it
someone suggested going on setting in firefox have no clue where to find settings
tried incognito nothing new happened
I used to do these sites from IE can chrome until they didnt work anymore then someone suggested a while back to use firefox and drave which I used for a long time until now
now there not working
are there any others that are good
I can tell these sites are running since i can log into them and see a few things like when people were paid and thats been recently
so they are working just not on my end

so if your going to suggest some things to try you need to tell me where to find them and what to look for in other words whats going to happen cause i have no clue

I'm by no means a computer expert, but....In Firefox, next to the address bar where you type where you want to go. There are 3 little lines, if you hover over it, it will say open application menu. Click on that, scroll down to settings. On left side scroll down to privacy and security, scroll down to where it says cookies and site data. Clear it from there.

Same thing apply in Edge and Chrome. Top right, click settings, scroll till you find clear history, cache, cookies.

I can't help you with any other browsers as I don't use them, but I assume it's pretty much in the same place in all of them.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the advice on how to fund these things I’ll for sure give it a try. Since I’m not with computers I don’t like clicking on things if I’m not sure. Is there a way to tell if I did it right like will I get some sort of message

thanks lynxstch
for the easy to follow step by step intructions on how to find to delete things
I gues I did everything right since after I hit delete and then I closed out waited a few minutes and went back in the delete button was greyed out so Im thinking that it means theres nothing more to delete

I then went into a few of the sites and while I was able to clcik through some things were no ads to click on
So Im thinking shes still having issues getting the sites back up
thanks again

sorry me again
I thought I had the issue fixed but I guess not.

What I noticed was the little padlock in the left corner where you type in the address was closed with the word secured. I never had this in all the years I did these--it was always open which I know means its not secure which I know isnt good but I never had any issues.

so when I clicked on it I was able to change it back and open the pad lock--it worked great for about 10 minutes then went right back to the connect reset
still not sure how to get out of that.
also why all of a sudden do things change-like things were working great then all of a sudden this security lock was on which I never did anything with when I installed the 2 new Browers I just started using them
thanks for any additional tips

You WANT the lock for ANY webpage that you put information into. Even if its just username/password.

https://eecu.org/community/articles...hen you go to a,the information is in transit.

When you go to a site that has a padlock icon next to the site name, it means the site is secured with a digital certificate. This means that any information sent between your browser and the website is sent securely, and can’t be intercepted and read by someone else while the information is in transit.
