This isn't *completely* off-topic. It does have something to do with the Fort...

DD is in LOVE with the Disney Campground Sing-a-Long tape. By in love, I really mean completely, utterly OBSESSED.

DH, being the caring daddy that he is, discovered that our VCR has a setting which allows repeat play.

Guess what's been playing in our house, on a loop, since about 8am?

:scared1:

Thankfully, I'm pretty good at tuning things out (just ask DH when he starts talking about trying to fix a tractor mower up for lawn mower racing :cutie: ).

As I type, she is doing the precise dance that some of them are doing...while singing.

I guess if she has to be obsessed with something, it might as well be something to do with the Fort, right? :goodvibes

Good thing is not "It's a Small World"......Well *&^$$* now its in my head

What is this "Disney Campground Sing-a-Long tape" of which you speak? It sounds like a hoot!

Thanks.

You can actually find all of the songs from this video on YouTube.

Here's a good one:

Campout At Disney World Sing A Long Video

In this one, you see Goofy leading the kids over the bridge behind the Meadow Trading Post, and down part of the Wilderness Swamp Trail, where we see Chip and Dale playing a prank.

Good stuff!

My DD's used to love all of the videos in this series.

I had a VHS copy in my camper for a long time.

I recently looked for it, and it is missing!

I think it might have been those hippies that were camping near me on Spring Break.

Anyway, no worries. . .

I just checked on Amazon, and you can get a copy on DVD for $10.99 brand new. And it qualifies for free super saver shipping!

They used to sell the DVD's of this title in the Trading Posts at the Fort.

But, this video is a bit dated, and they probably weren't selling many any more.

It is a great video for any Fort Fiend, though.

Get one while you can!

I agree!

I remember watching it the first time. The double decker bus was entering the campground, and all I could think of was how much I wished I was there. Talk about homesick! :goodvibes

Is this the video? It includes footage from FW, RC and DI! Very cool indeed! :thumbsup2

I will also add that a hammock...tied to trees ....is shown. Just a warning to those with an aversion to tying hammocks/clotheslines to trees. ;) If Disney feels it's ok and is willing to put such activity on video, then we should all be ok.

That's the one! :thumbsup2

Excellent point about the hammocks/clotheslines.

No one should mind our underroos hanging out to dry...just as long as they're lime green, right?

:rotfl2: I will not be offended at seeing underroos of any color. (It makes me feel better knowing that my neighbors wash their underwear. However they choose to dry them is OK w/me.) TCD once posted a pic of his neighbors' underwear hanging from a tree in the complete line of vision from their front door! I must say I definitely prefer a clothesline to that view! :lmao:......and I fully believe in the enjoyment of a hammock.

BTW, after scanning the Campout DVD, we watched it. In fact DS7 wanted to see it again so it is playing as I type. The RC and DI clips made me cry. What childhood memories! Makes me sad that my own kids will never experience those parks. :sad1:

BTW again, when DS saw the double decker bus and all the characters w/the kids, he excaimed, "I WANNA TO THAT!" lol

LOL DD said that she wanted to do that, too.

At that point, I realized that we also needed to have a discussion about the fact that Mickey, Minnie, and the rest of the characters (exception Chip & Dale at campfire) don't roam the Fort. Good thing, because that, apparently, was her expectation. Talk about a let down once we got there... :scared1:

Now, she's content. :cutie:

It is really cute to see her point out Trail's End, the Trading Posts, etc. :goodvibes

DS has already been to the Fort many times, so I actually think he thought all of that stuff was something NEW at FW! :lmao: I had to explain about RC and DI too.

BTW, there used to be Characters at RC and skiing shows featuring the Characters. I def remember Goofy on skis. Wish they still did those little things.

I'm glad your DD is making a lot of FW memories. If given the choice between a suite in the finest WDW hotel or FW....I'd choose the Fort! Well, unless we won one of those magical nights in Cinderella Castle. I'd give up a Fort night for that.

We also have this DVD. My daughters have been watching this for about three years now. My nickname is now Mountain Momma(in the end they sing Country Road by John Denver). It is great to watch just before you go it kind of shows them what they are going to see. We just got back from the fort and we have been watching wishing we were back. Maybe next year keepin my fingers crossed.
