Our school has a set of "1-DAY PARK HOPPER COMPLIMENTARY" tickets that were donated for the school auction. Does anyone know if these are upgradable to multiday ParkHopper tickets?

No, you cannot upgrade complimentary tickets. Sorry!

Sorry to hijack, but I have a question that is close to this. I have heard complimentary tickets are not upgradeable, but what about tickets you've won? If they don't say complimentary and someone has paid for them, the sponser perhaps, can those be upgraded? I can't say for sure the the 1-day hoppers say complimentary or what they say because I haven't received them yet, but doesn't hurt to ask. TIA!

The wording of the ticket would be key. The complimentary tickets say on them that they cannot be upgraded. If your tickets were actually purchased full price and then donated, it is my understanding you can upgrade based on the amount paid. But I would read the ticket language carefully. :thumbsup2

ETA: hey, that was my 1,000th post!

The back of these say complimentary, so it's a no for us. We'd never fly down for just 1 day at the parks :). Thanks for the help and congrats on your 1,000!

Well you could use them towards a longer stay tho.....you use the comp passes for 1 day and then buy hoppers for the remaining days. Like a 3 day hopper plus the comp pass and you get a 4 day hopper. :)

Yeah, as soon as I get our prize tickets, I am going to check them out, but if they can't be, what you said is what we're planning. I am giving them to a friend since I have an AP, but for them, if we can't upgrade, we'll just get 3-day hoppers. We'll be there 5 days, but we're hoping the halloween party will be the friday we're there (like it has been on fridays in the past). So we'll just use the halloween ticket for day 1, use the free hoppers for one day and if we can't upgrade, just get 3 day hoppers for the remaining days. Here's hoping :)

You might save more money by having one person use all of the comp. tickets.

i got one of these too. I was told you cant but I will use it towards the trip im trying to plan lol

No types of complimentary tickets are upgradable. Or rather- the value towards upgrading is $0.0

But yes, you can certainly combo single day tickets and if you have adults or kids, cover the adults!

We donated comp tickets to non-prfoit charity raffle & the winner got a steal on the tickets!

We have 6 complimentary tickets. They don't say if they are hopper or not we're going to check. but my question is this. If they are not hoppers, then is this scenario allowed.

Buy 3 one day hopper tickets and have the other 3 members of our group use the 6 complimentary tickets. 1 each at 2 different parks in the same day. Will disney issue them two 1-day passes at 2 different parks in the same day? Then they can in essence "hop".

Good point mad hatter fan. specialks, how many 1 day park hoppers do you have?

It was a set of 4. The auction has already passed. I'll ask my friend what the final price was. I stopped at $200.

This was a great point! I didn't really think of it when I was counting out the days, but now since I have one adult and one child, it makes obvious sense for the adult to use both the one day hoppers, if they are in fact, not upgradeable. These are contest tickets, from that Ralphs Carsland Coca Cola contest that was posted here back in May. It says the tickets will arrive 8-10 weeks after the contest concludes, so now I am just waiting on them to check out the wording. I didn't know if all contest tickets were considered complimentary, but I guess we'll find out soon :)

I think most contest tickets are considered complimentary. But, if they weren't, you might also check to see about the price to upgrade the days - would they still only be $5, or if they were steeply discounted - do you have to pay a lot more?

I would doubt any one day hoppers, complimentary or otherwise, would be upgradeable at the $5 per day rate. The $5 per day rate applies once you get high up in the number of days on the ticket. At a minimum, going from a 5-day to a 6-day pass.

Turns out the school auction raised $250 for the set of 4 1-day complimentary hoppers. A 4 day hopper is $275 now, so the buyer saved $25 if they use the tickets for 1 person for 4 days of entry as discussed in this thread.

Or, if they used 1 per person for 4 people, they saved $250! Half off isn't bad. Or if 2 people went for 2 days, they saved $150.

Exactly! Our family likes longer visits, so it just didn't add up for us.
