Completed!!

Just wanted to pop in and check in. All is going well with my pregnancy. My blood sugars have been great. I still haven't gained any weight - I'm still down about 16lbs from my pre-pregnancy weight. We have our big ultrasound in just a few weeks (aug 8) and I'm getting soooo excited!!! I just KNOW we are having a boy and I can't wait to prove everyone who thinks I'm having a girl wrong :lmao:

Things aren't going so well at work. Yesterday my boss came in and informed me that I will no longer be the 4 year old kindergarten teacher, I have been demoted to a teacher's assistant in a pre-school 2 year old room. The current teacher's aid in the 2 year old room is being moved because she told the boss that room is such stress on her that she can't handle it any longer - that classroom is horrible... duh.... it's 17 kids in their terrible two's!! She said this is because I have an OB appointment every 2-3 weeks and that doesn't provide enough "stability" for the children. I feel so bad, she was just so mean and rude about it. I love my kids and they are doing great with me - I even have a few that are starting to learn how to read!! I hate being ripped away from them like this.... I am still looking for a lawyer but haven't been able to find one quite yet. I am also desperately in search of a new job

On a brighter note - hubby seems to be in a disney mood lately!! Today he watched a Samantha Brown Disney re-run on the travel channel BY HIMSELF!! I was at work!! Normally he skims over that channel in fear that I'll demand we watch a disney special if it's on - but nope - he watched it on his own free will!!! He also was talking to me about nursery ideas and said a disney nursery would be really cool. We had planned on Pooh - but he's thinking about incorporating a bunch of characters and just having a disney themed nursery. I'm not really sure because I think it may be too busy looking with more than one character going on... He even told me he's starting to see a little more of the "magic" of disney since I'm pregnant because he can just see our little one staring in amazement at all the rides and characters at WDW. SOOOOOO... where's my semi-anti-disney husband???

Now that she has demoted you , I definetly think you need file a claim...and go to the school board! FMLA protects you as well in this situation I think!

Unfortunately it doesn't.... She only employs 14 workers - not even the EEOC will handle something like this because she's considered a small business owner. It's a small, private pre-school for children ages 2-5. FMLA is for over 50 employees I believe.... Also there is no school board - she is the owner of the school and there are no other co-owners or authority figures... I basically have nowhere else to turn other than a private lawyer :confused3

AHHH, I didn't realize it was private! Another option is the news media!

on your baby. I will keep you in my prayers. I had gestational diabetes and preg induced high blood pressure, so I can relate. Good Luck with the job search and the rest of your pregnancy.

**BABY UPDATE**

Hey guys. I had another bad incident and was in the emergency room again this weekend. More bleeding (which I didn't think much of because the doctor said it COULD happen again and not to freak too much) but this time it was accompanied by severe cramping and pain. We stayed at the hospital for 5-6 hours and they could find nothing wrong. Thankfully the baby looks perfectly fine - heartbeat in the 150's. They did blood work and and ultrasound and couldn't find anything wrong with me, so they did what all ER's do and sent me home telling me to stay in bed until I could get an appointment ASAP on monday with my regular OB. This entire weekend has been rough - still bleeding off and on and still in massive pain... I called my OB's office and the nurse is supposed to be giving me a call back pretty soon to let me know what to do and when/if I can come in to see the doctor today. I really hope they will have an answer for me....

I will keep you guys posted.

I can't share with you a "when I was pregnant" reassurance but I will definitely keep you in my prayers. I hope everything is ok.

 I'll keep you in my prayers, it's a good sign that the ER couldn't find anything wrong & the heartbeat is strong. Take care & stay in bed. When my mom was pregnant with me, she started to bleed everytime she tried to get out of bed & do something so they put her on total bed rest. Hopefully, this doesn't happen to you but this was 50 years ago & I turned out fine although some may beg to differ.;)

Oh goodness! That's scary. Have you been checked for Placenta Previa or even just a low-lying placenta?? (I had it with both pregnancies, as I mentioned before) I know it's scary so please do what the ER docs told you and stay OFF your feet. (More time to be on DisBoards! hehe) Let us know what your doc says when you go in!

Melanie

Keeping you in my prayers.

Oh boy, I hope everything turns out okay!
Like a PP mentioned, placenta previa or low-lying could cause bleeding, but they would have saw that on an ultra-sound.

Crossing my fingers for you!

***Baby Update***

The baby looks good - she checked a few things like the baby's heart, kidney's, ect and all of that looks good. The baby's heartbeat was in the 150's and was strong. Our u/s tech asked if we wanted to know the sex and of course we said yes. She tried for a solid 15 minutes to get him to move into a position so she could see the goods but he wouldn't. The baby curled into a tight little ball when she tried poking him to get him to move. So she tried hard, but no luck finding out the sex!! She did find that I have a very low-lying placenta - the placenta is not over my cervix, but is extremely low. She said this could be the cause of my bleeding that I've had. She also found a subchorionic hemorrhage. This is basically bleeding that occurs between the uterine wall and the amniotic sac. These kind of hemorrhages are associated with up to 30% of all 1st and 2nd trimester miscarriages. She said I'm probably past this point, but there can be other concerns such as pre-term labor and placental abruption. She said there's no evidence of the placenta starting to separate from the uterine wall, but it's something we need to keep an eye on for sure. As far as the pain I'm having she said it's most likely just a result of this hemorrhage which can cause abdominal pain and the contractions I've been having. She monitored me and did pick up contractions but since my cervix is staying closed and not getting shorter she assured me they were just strong braxton hicks. Since the subchoionic hemorrhage is associated with pre-term labor I have to be careful the braxton hicks contractions don't become regular and I have to watch carefully for any other signs that I may be going into labor. I was ordered no "activity" for the duration of my pregnancy, no sports, no exercising, no lifting, ect... I am on modified bedrest. I can't be on my feet for more than 30 minutes at a time. I am allowed to go to work but I have to sit all day and not stand, I can cook dinner, clean, ect but I have to take breaks and take it really easy. She said at this point full bed rest isn't something she feels we need to do, but may be in the near future. She's also concerned over my blood pressure - it was 165/82 today and I started out at about 100/55 during the first few months of my pregnancy. At the ER it was 167/100. She said that itself may cause me to need to be put on bedrest. She was also concerned over my weight... I've lost 5 more pounds since my last appointment and she wasn't too happy about that. I will be seeing her again for evaluation regarding these things on August 14th.

I'll be thinking of you. Keep yourself healthy. Do not let you boss stress you out at ALL!!! The most important things are you, your husband, and your baby. Sorry it's been so rough.

I'm really glad that they at least found the cause of the bleeding. Just knowing the reason, I'm sure, is somewhat of a releif.

I had a low lying placenta during my first pregnancy (full placenta previa the 2nd time around) and had spotting/bleeding from about week 7-8 until around week 18 or so. In both cases, the placenta corrected itself by around 20-22wks. (So here's hoping yours will as well!) As you already know...no "activity" of any kind, no lifting anything heavy, no walking around the malls or shopping, etc. Not until you know it's cleared up...which hopefully it will!

Since DH knows NOTHING about a grocery store, I would go with him and use the store's wheelchair and point out what we needed...it was actually pretty funny. But you really shouldn't be doing ANYTHING. No cooking, cleaning...NOTHING.

I was on the modified bedrest also with #2 and #1 was less than a year old...and I'm a SAHM. haha Not easy...but you can do it!!!!

I'm hoping it doesn't lead to full bedrest....

I finally made it back to the boards to check on you and found you had up and moved to another thread. Hang in there... I had bleeding early on, ended up with gestational diabetes and had to go on insulin shots and such. I was on bed rest the last 12 weeks of pregnancy...but I had him 7 weeks early so it was only 5 that I served. He just turned 12 and is healthy and happy (most of the time, he is preteen after all).

I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers...

Thinking of you. Take it easy and I'm glad to hear that you found the cause for the bleeding and that everything should be ok. I will definitely keep you in my prayers.

Glad you found me :goodvibes I've been put on "modified bedrest". I can leave the house, but not more than 2-3 hours at a time without coming back to lay down. My doctor said this may turn to full bedrest before my pregnancy is over. I see you are from Charlotte, NC - did you deliver at CMC??

Thinking of you. Take it easy and I'm glad to hear that you found the cause for the bleeding and that everything should be ok. I will definitely keep you in my prayers.

Thank you!! :goodvibes
