Kathy:flower3:

WELCOME ABOARD :cool1: The heartbeat has consistently been in the high 160's each time we have listen to it on the doppler or saw it on the ultrasound!!! MANY people keep telling me I'm having a girl, but I STRONGLY feel it's a boy!! We are naming the baby Ava Brooklyn if it's a girl, and Levi Alexander if it's a boy!!!

when do you find out whether it is a boy or a girl? Or are you going to find out at all and just be suprised at delivery? Me I could't stand the wait and had to find out even though DH wanted to be suprised...but he knows that if there is a way for me to find out then I was going to find out. I can't stand suprisees...they just make me crazy until I know what it is!!:rotfl2:

Joining in!!

I'm a kindergarten teacher too.

And congrats on your first baby. You have an exciting few months coming up.

Sorry hun, I've been MIA for a few days...
But here's the picture I took way back when...
It's even got the cute little bloomers that go over the diaper. So, all I have to do come winter is find a pair of tights for her to wear!
All told, the outfit will be quite a deal -- maybe $13 for the dress & shoes!

***HELP**

OK, so since I've been pregnant I've noticed my boss has been really "odd" to me. She hasn't been nice like she normally is, has been picking on EVERYTHING I do, she's been TRYING to find things that she can say I'm going wrong, she gets upset when I need to use the bathroom 20 times a day and she has to watch my kids, ect....

I always take extra care in requesting time off I always get a doctor's excuse for work - I always put in my request as soon as possible - at least 2 weeks in advance. After my 1st 2-3 OB appointments my boss told me that from now on I couldn't take half day off for my doctor's apts, I had to take a whole day without pay because it was easier for her that way.

The monday after I had been bleeding and spent the day in the ER I called her and explained the situation and told her I couldn't come in and she got very upset and said if the bleeding had stopped I should be fine. She was very rude and not understanding at all - not something I needed when I still didn't even know if I was losing my baby or not!!

This morning I walked into work and double checked with her that she had me off on the 16th and she just looked at me and said that we needed to talk. I went into her office and she told me that things were just not working out. She said that I have way too many pregnancy related doctor's appointments and I'm out of work too much. I have approximately 2-3 apts per month and I don't miss any other days (other than the monday after I had that bleeding and had to go to the ER). She said something had to change and I just wasn't working out here. She said there is a small possibility she can demote me from a teacher to a teacher's assistant in another classroom (meaning pay cut, hour cut, status cut, I lose my kids, ect), but she didn't really know. She said if she can't do that, then things just won't work out with me. She said I'm not dependable since I have to be seen at the OB so much. She never actually said she would fire me, but she all but said it.

I spent the last hour researching and I have a case against her according to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. They state that a pregnant women can't be demoted or fired or discriminated against because of her pregnancy. It's illegal.

I plan to call the EEOC tomorrow and file a legal claim against her. The EEOC had 5500 cases filed regarding pregnancy discrimination in 2007 and won 4900 of them.

Does this seem to strong?? Am I wrong?? Am I just pregnant and over-reacting??

No you are not overreacting! Strangely she seems jealous. Call the EEOC and report her it's not fair but more importantly it's not legal! Fight for your kids.:thumbsup2

No, you're not over reacting, especially to her response after you were in the ER. I say do what you have to do for your family's well-being. It's not right to be treated that way.

Your boss should be way more understanding about your pregnancy!!
Are you planning on keeping that job after your baby is born?
Let us know how it goes.

I'm actually looking for another job right now - I don't care to stay there any longer!!

Hey there...I'm jumping in late but I just now saw this. First of all, CONGRATS on your pregnancy! Wanted to add that I had spotting/bleeding with BOTH my pregnancies from about 8wks up till about 16-19wks. With #1 I had a low lying placenta and with #2 it was placenta previa - both corrected themselves by the 20wk ultrasound but I was on a lot of modified bedrest. (Basially nothing besides work) So I know how scary it is and I hope it doesn't continue!
ALSO, my 2 cents, it's a GIRL! The theory of higher heartbeats = girl is interesting....DD1 was normally in the 160s and #2 was always between 135-145 so I was SURE #2 was a boy. Of course I was wrong. Interestingly, #2 is much more laid back than #1 ever was.
As for your boss...I agree with PP that she sounds a bit jealous. Women bosses can suck (sorry for any of you who ARE female bosses but I've never had a good experience with any of mine....) In anycase she IS out of line. If you're a new employee and on a probation period, then you may not have say in things but if you've been an employee there for a while and proven yourself up till now that you're pregnant...they have no right to demote or fire you. Listen, on both pregnancies I was high risk and had appts almost every other week for the entire pregnancy...seeing both a fetal maternal specialist and regular OB....tons of appts. My bosses didn't DARE say a word. They can't.
NOW onto Disney....you've got lots of great places picked out! We're debating between Nov and Dec 2009 (as you posted in one of my threads...hehe) I'm scared to go in Oct b/c I'm afraid it may be too crowded or warm. DH will be miserable if it gets in the upper 80s or into the 90s.

NOW tell me how to look at yoru TR from your Disneymoon!

I can't believe the way your boss acted towards you & you have every right to file a complaint against her. Good luck with finding a new position.:goodvibes
I also "just knew" that my first child was a boy, imagine my surprise when she turned out to be a girl.:cutie: Children are a precious gift whatever their sex & I know you will cherish this little one whatever it turns out to be.

Good for you!

Thank you!!! I hope I find something soon!!

Who knows - maybe my gut feeling will turn out to be wrong - but I feel SOOO strongly that it's a boy!! I actually have always wanted a little girl, but I'm THRILLED with either as long as he/she is perfectly healthy!

Yeah... I haven't been there a really long time, but I have been there a little over a year - my probation period was up long, long ago. I am NEVER out other than for my OB appointments and endocrinologist appointments (for my gestational diabetes). I'm just sooo ready to find a new job!!

I'm getting stuck between Oct and Dec now too.... It would be anytime in October or the first or second week in December. I just don't know now....

Here's the link to my honeymoon TR - it's long - 23 pages, but IT ROCKS if I do say so myself!!

Enjoy!!!

Oh, and WELCOME ABOARD

***Baby Update***

Our big ultrasound has been changed!!! It's been moved earlier - to August 8th!!!

How heartless is your boss that she would tell you 'you're not working out' or give you flack for having doctors appointments!
Does she have any children? Has she been pregnant? If so, she has to realize that the appointments are required every 4 weeks at the beginning, and way more frequently at the end!! (*grumbling at every 2 week appts....*)

I'm with you 100% on calling the EEOC... It definitely seems like she is taking issue with your being pregnant... She's probably realizing you will be out of work for 6-12 weeks (or longer) and she should find a reason to get rid of you now!

Best of luck with this sticky situation. Hopefully the EEOC can advise you on what to do!

OOOhhHH that is sooo exciting!!

I know!! I'm soooo excited :goodvibes

Thanks - I hope they can help me, but I'm beginning to doubt it because this is a small business... We'll see though!!
