January 28th, 2017 (Part 2)

Delirious Over Straw Paper
Hey everyone! Sorry for my little hiatus last week, I was on Spring Break and I didn't bring my laptop along so I couldn’t write any updates.

Anyway, after we got on the bus we began our journey across Orlando. We stopped at literally every bus stop along the way.

Then we detoured to Sea World and then continued down I-Drive. We were just enjoying getting to sit down for a while and I got to take a trip down memory lane. During my Freshman year of highschool I went to Star Wars Celebration at the Orlando Convention center and so we passed by all of the spots that my mom and I went to.

We were also admiring our new purchases. Rachel said we looked like secret service agents in our sunglasses and our jackets.
I’ll let you decide if you think that’s true.

I got to see the Orlando Eye for the first time, it looks pretty epic- I can’t wait to live in Orlando because I definitely want to go up in it.

Then we got into a super sketchy part of I-drive that looks pretty trashy. I don’t think it represented Orlando very well at all.
After an hour of being on the trolley (yes, it took an hour to get across town), we finally saw some outlet shops.

We weren’t sure which stop to get off at so we ended up getting off a little early and having to walk about 10 minutes in the freezing cold. We finally found the outlets and went out in search of a bathroom. We had the hardest time trying to find one but we finally made it there!


After that, we found the guest services area and went inside to ask if they could print out our trolley tickets for us. The lady said they couldn’t but to find the booth food court because they may be able to do it for us. The we set out to find the other Disney outlet, we stopped at the Hanes outlet first though because I was giving in and buying some socks to wear with my chacos. I bought a 3 pack of tall black socks for $10 which I feel like isn’t even that great of a deal but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do!


We finally found the Disney outlet!

They had quite a bit of the same stuff as the one we went to first except they had a better pin collection.

I was super excited about this Emperor's New Groove one!

Neither of us ended up buying anything, but I’m glad we got to check it out. There was a panera beside the store and Rachel had a free bagel reward she wanted to redeem.

After that, we went over to the food court to the information desk but the woman there said she couldn’t print out our passes either. We just started walking back toward where we got off the trolley thinking maybe the other bus driver would let us ride back. On our way there, we passed a Dollar Tree and we headed over to there because we decided we should buy some snacks.

I picked up some granola bars, cheese whales, and pretzels.

Rachel got some snacks and one of those frozen lemonades they sell at Disney for like $5 but Rachel got it for $1. Ah, the Dollar Tree is where it’s at. Then we decided that we didn’t want to deal with the struggle of trying to get back on the Trolley so Rachel found a Lyft discount code and we called a Lyft. Our driver came pretty quick and his car was super clean and nice.


We made it to Disney Springs in ten minutes or less!

He dropped us off over on the West side and we headed to the Disney Quest emporium.

Rachel’s Dollar Tree bag was ripping so she needed a Disney bag to put her stuff in.

Disney Springs was PACKED. I guess it makes sense because it was a Saturday but it was wall-to-wall people.

We made some pin trades along the way but finally made it to World of Disney.

I had to get a picture with my main squeeze.

We made some pin trades with a CM over by the jewelry counter, she had some amazing pins! Then we headed over to Once Upon a Toy looking at CM’s pins but didn’t see anything we wanted.

We also went to the pin store hoping they had the gigantic pin board open but we had no such luck. Rachel was also in search for the “I lava you” pin for her boyfriend. We had seen it in AK the day before and she was regretting not grabbing it. They didn’t have it there though so we headed out.

Rachel decided she wanted to get some baby mickey ears for her new service dog puppy so we ran over and had some embroidered. They are so cute!

Then we decided that we were basically ready to leave DS and I headed for the bus stop but I didn’t realize they had been moved since I was there last! We had to ask a CM to direct us over to the busses. We finally found them and I got to see the new shopping area at DS! They had so many really nice stores in there, I’d love to have a shopping spree there someday!

While we were waiting for our bus, I reached in my pocket and pulled out some crumpled straw paper and both Rachel and I started dying laughing. I hadn’t had anything that day that required straw paper (my McDonalds straw was already in my cup when they gave it to me) so I had obviously just picked up someone’s disregarded straw paper somewhere and shoved it in my pocket. We already delirious and it was only our second day!

On our bus ride back, I snapped a picture of the pins I traded for in DS.

When we made it back to our hotel, we went to the front desk and asked for an extra blanket because even though we had the heat on in our room, we were still freezing. By the time we had walked to our room, we called to the front desk and asked for 2 extra blankets so we both could have one. This cold weather was taking no prisoners

Haha it was hard, I had 0 space in my luggage to bring anything home so that's the main reason why I didn't buy more!

January 28, 2017 (Part 3)

Last Minute Naan Decisions
We both layed in the bed, turned on the TV and chilled out for about 30 minutes. Then we freshened up and headed to a Magic Kingdom bus!
The second part of our day we wanted to resort hop, go to our Sanna reservation, and watch Illuminations from the Boardwalk.

We made it to MK and ran over and hopped on a resort boat and set off to the Wilderness Lodge.

I visited Fort Wilderness a couple of years ago and now I’m obsessed both resorts! I caught a pic of our “sacos” or Chacos with socks. They may not be the greatest fashion statement but they were necessary.

I always love the resort boats!

I was excited to see the new bungalows they are building at WL. They look so great, I can’t wait for them to be finished.

We docked and headed up to the main building. This was technically my very first visit to the lodge- it’s so beautiful.

We went into the Roaring Fork first because I wanted to see if they had magic cookie bars. They did but I decided not to buy one since we were just about to head to dinner. Tbh I could really go for one of those right now, haha!

Then we walked over to the main area. We walked up to the DVC booth because the guy sitting up there had Moana stickers!!! We were so hype!

We poked around the Mercantile and the main lobby, I wanted to buy everything in sight! I'm going to have to stay here soon.

but then we decided we probably should probably be on our way to our dinner reservation.
I just had to snag my classic resort rug picture.

After that, we hopped on an Animal Kingdom bus, we were the only people on it so Rachel and I were kinda hoping the driver would just take us on up to the lodge because we were running a little late. We seriously thought he was taking us to the Animal Kingdom Lodge but then he siked us out and indeed went to AK. Thankfully, there was and Animal Kingdom Lodge bus waiting right there for us so we ran across the bus area and hopped on.

It is only a short drive to the AKL and we were checking in at Sanna in no time. I have wanted to come to this place since I started reading Jess (the frump)'s TR here on the DIS back in 2013. It only took 4 years but I finally made it!

I think we were late to our reservation but they CM’s just handed us a buzzer and told it would just be a few minutes.
We headed outside to the area with the bonfire and the outlook for the savanna, I caught another rug pic on the way out.

It was dark so we couldn’t really see any animals but it was nice to stand beside the fire.

We chatted with some other adults that were talking as well. They were so nice, it turned out that they lived pretty close to our town! Then our buzzer finally went off!!

So, we had actually made this reservation while we were sitting on the tarmac in Orlando. Rachel was really craving the Naan Bread and I had never tried it so we decided to just come and share the glorius Naan bread platter for dinner. Last minute Naan decisions are the best kind, yo
We had a nice seat in the corner, it wasn’t that busy in there and I loved the atmosphere.

I just use iMovie (it comes for free on all Apple computers) it's super user friendly and works way better than Widows Movie Maker IMO. If you don't have an apple computer but you have an iPhone or iPad they also make an iMovie app- although I'm not sure if it's free or not. Hope this helps!

January 28th, 2017 (Part 4)

The Strangest Guest Encounter
We decided to go all out and get all five breads with all 9 accompaniments. I’m impressed the server didn’t look at us like we were crazy for just coming for the bread but I’m sure this happens a lot. I think it’s a great way to still get to eat at a TS restaurant on a budget, there definitely was plenty to eat.
They brought out the bread pretty quick and we dug right in. LOOK HOW BEAUTIFUL.

Naan Bread Service: $7.95 each ($15.90 in total) + tip

Okay, so they give you the accompaniments from mild to spicy and I definitely favored the milder side. My favorite dips were the cucumber Rita, the Roasted Red Pepper Hummus, and the Mango Chutney. I tried all of the sauces but those three (the three mildest lol) were my favorite. Now onto the bread. I loved all of them (apart from the onion kulcha that one was nasty!) but my favorites were definitely the Garlic-ginger Naan and the Original Naan. If you’ve never had Naan bread before, it’s a softy and chewy bread that is usually cooked in a brick oven. Then, you just pull it apart and dip pieces in the sauces. This is a definite do-over for me! The next time I get it though, I think I will just choose to have half original and half garlic-ginger Naan and the 3 aforementioned sauces. So yeah, if you haven’t had the Sanaa Bread service. DO IT.

We ate relatively quickly because we didn’t have loads of time before we needed to be moving on. Our server hadn’t been around for a while so when the manager came up to see how we were doing, we asked him if we could get our split check brought over to us. He said he would get right on that and kept on making his rounds. A couple of minutes later, our server comes hurrying over and hands us the black book that usually contains your receipt and a pen. When she gave it to us she just said “Is this what you want?” and both of us were like “...Yeah?”. We were even more confused when we opened up the book to find that it was empty. First we thought maybe it was someone trying to sprinkle pixie dust but then we didn’t think that could be right based on what the server had just said. We finally waved her over again and showed her the empty book and she said “Oh, he said you guys just wanted a book. I didn’t know you guys were ready to pay.” …. WHAT? I’m still confused why she thought we wanted an empty book.
Anyway, she brought us our checks and we headed back upstairs and to the bus stop. While we were waiting for an EPCOT bus, I downloaded the Blaze Pizza app because Rachel told me if I did, I could get a free drink and she had a buy one get one free coupon we could use if we got hungry later.

We were headed to EPCOT because we wanted to watch Illuminations from the Boardwalk so we thought that we should head to EPCOT and then grab a Boardwalk bus.

When our bus finally came- it took a while- the girl who was operating it (I think she was CP) had pins on. I thought it was super rare to see a transportation CM with pins so I traded for an Aurora crown that she had. While we were talking with her, she noticed Rachel’s birthday button and wished her a happy birthday. After we picked guests from the other half of AKL, she stood in the front of the bus and told everyone it was Rachel’s birthday and made the entire bus sing to her. Then she told us that Rachel almost shares the same birthday as Illuminations. I’ll give her that one, but I have the same birthday as Animal Kingdom so ha! Lol jk Rachel, I love you.

Once we arrived at EPCOT, we were looking around for a Boardwalk bus and couldn’t find one. We asked a CM who said there isn’t a bus that goes to the Boardwalk, and that we’ll have to walk through the park. WELL, we didn’t have park tickets for that day so that would be a no-go. That meant it was time to call up an Uber. We headed over to the ride share/taxi pickup area. Great picture, I know

We were greeted by a roundy group of twenty-somethings who had obviously been drinking a little too much around the world. We weren’t even standing particularly close to them and you could 100% smell the alcohol on them. One of them was yelling at his phone trying to get their Uber driver to pick them up in the right place. The rest of them had adopted this twenty-something girl who was visibly upset, sitting on a bench. Come to find out, her boyfriend had literally just walked out of EPCOT and left her. I felt so bad for her because not only did she just get dumped in Disney, now she was surrounded by a bunch of drunk, obnoxious people.

When their uber finally did pull up, they were all yelling at each other to get in and one guy shouted from the passenger's seat. “Did your boyfriend leave you? That’s a bad, bad boyfriend.”. I can’t say I was sorry to see them go. Gosh, I can’t imagine them walking around EPCOT like that with so many young kids around. I honestly wouldn’t have been surprised if Disney hadn’t escorted them out of the park. In other news, while we were still waiting on our car, a bunch of football players walked by and got into their Uber. I don’t pay much attention to sports so I have no idea who they were but you could definitely tell they were football players and they were with a Guest Services CM.

January 28th, 2017 (Part 5)

Rachel's Free Visit Into EPCOT
Then our Uber FINALLY came and we headed on to the Boardwalk! It is a super short ride and before we knew it, we were there!

This was both of our first visits to this lovely resort and I DEFINITELY have to go back. We headed into the lobby and were in awe.

We went up to the CM at the DVC booth to see if she had any pins and then realized that we were from the same state! We had a great chat with her and then we headed down onto the boardwalk.

It was so cool to see families chilling on the lawn and watching Star Wars. I find those little vacation moments so sweet to watch. Families that take time out of the craziness of the park to lay on the lawn and watch a movie with their kids. IT’S JUST SO MAGICAL.

I was so in love with the Boardwalk and I just couldn’t capture it’s beauty in the low light and I was high-key distressed.

Not to mention, we needed to walk all the way around to get to Yacht and Beach Club to see Illuminations in not very much time.

While we were walking, we passed this family of a mom and dad with their two kids. The mom was pushing the younger child in a stroller and the Dad was chasing the son around and he was just giggling and squealing away, all of them had smiles on their faces. I turned to Rachel and told her that those are my favorite family moments to witness when I'm in Disney. I think those little moments are ones that don't necessarily envolve expensive meals, character meet and greets or Cast Members spreading magic (which are all good things!) But they're sweet moments that happened because they're so happy to be in Disney and to be together, away from the normal everyday life. Okay, sorry for that rabbit trail, I just felt like I needed to say that, Haha!

Rachel had this bridge in mind that we could stand on and get a good view of the fireworks. Once we made it there and they started doing the Illuminations announcements, we realized we wouldn’t be able to hear the music. That just wouldn't do so, I set off on the little 5 minute walk down to the International gateway and found an area about as close as you could get to EPCOT without actually setting foot onto it.
I tried to get a picture of where we were but it's really hard to see. But that building (which I was separated from by water) are the shops in the France Pavilion.

Some of our view was still blocked by trees but that’ll happen even if you’re in the park, honestly! Rachel came down just before the show started. We ended up sitting on the cold, hard ground (any Taylor Swift fans get my joke? lol) and enjoyed Illuminations. I didn’t take any pictures becuase as I said, there were a bunch of trees in the way but it wasn’t that bad of a spot if I'm honest. As long as I can hear that amazing music and can get the gist of the fireworks, I'm a happy camper. I just can't wait to work in Disney and be able to come and see Illuminations whenever my heart desires.

Somewhere along the line, Rachel wasn't feeling to great and needed to lay down and when she did she stuck her foot under the gate we were sitting by. That, my friends is the closest anybody will ever get to being in a Disney park for free.

Here's another view from where we were sitting from the ground. We were across from the Friendship Boats entrance.

After that, we headed back up toward the Boardwalk but ended up walking into the Beach Club because we were just going to call another car so it really didn’t matter were we did it from. Once we walked in the Beach Club I simotaiounesly realized two things: I was hopelessly underdressed in sweatpants and chacos and that it actually smelled like sunscreen and the beach in the lobby. Disney never ceases to amaze me with their PERFECT theming

January 28th, 2017 (Part 6)

Planes, Trains, and Automobiles? More Like: Ubers, Lyfts, and Resort Boats

We sat in the lobby of the Beach Club (still feeling totally underdressed) and waited on our lyft. Our driver came super quick and we hopped in, immediately I knew that we were in for an interesting ride.
Our driver had a heavy hispanic accent and was very friendly and excited. His very first question to us was that he wanted to know where our parents were. We told him that we were traveling just the two of us. Then I said "When you're 18 and 20 you can do that sort of stuff." The driver *while still driving* flips on the overhead lights and turns around and says "Which one of you is 20?!" Rachel and I started laughing and Rachel said "I just turned 20!" He honestly didn't believe us, he thought we looked so much younger! He stuck out his hand and said "Touch my hand, Touch my hand!" Rachel did and then he was like "Okay, now I have some of your luck.
He was so hilarious, we chatted a little more about Orlando and where we were from and the cold weather before we were dropped off at Disney Springs. I'm not sure if I mentioned that was where we were going or not but yes, we were back at DS for the second time in one day, lol. It was closer to 10pm now and even though we had eaten at Sanaa, we didn't really eat that much and we were both ready for some more food. Rachel had the Blaze Pizza app and she had a BOGO pizza deal and we both had free drink coupons. That meant we could both get a pizza and a drink for less than $4.
The line was basically out the door when we got there so I called my mom and bought up with her before ordering. Both Rachel and I just decided to go for a pepperoni pizza. I got a coke and she got a lemonade. On a normal day, I would never drink caffeine so late at night but I was so exhausted it really didn't make a difference lol!

After we got our pizzas and drinks, we carried the over to the bus area and there was a All Star Sports bus just waiting for us! I got really hype because it was a Doctor Strange bus, I loved that movie! When you combine Marvel and Benedict Cumberbatch's acting you honestly can't go wrong.

I also made Rachel take a picture of me with my pizza because I was in heaven with pizza in Disney World

We were at ASSp in no time, it's so nice how close the value resorts are to DS! We headed up to our room, kicked off our shoes and crawled in bed. Our beautiful pizzas were still warm and we chowed down. We were obviously hungry because I had eaten some before I realized I needed to take food pictures

I hadn't intended to eat much of it but I think I ate all but one or two pieces. We stuck our left overs in the fridge and got ready for bed!

Let's start with our steps- even though we took 2 ubers, 2 lyfts, 1 trolley, a boat, and multiple busses, we still managed to get in quite a few steps.

This is basically the same amount that we had walked on our very first day, so not too shabby!

If my math is correct, I only spent about $13.64 on food for this day (not including the snacks I bought). Still not buying a DDP is still paying off.

January 29, 2017 (Part 1)

There Are Two Kinds of People Who Meet Characters...
We woke up early on our 3rd day and started getting ready. We headed to the bus stop around 8:00, I grabbed my left over Blaze pizza for breakfast. Breakfast of champions, I know lol.

We arrived at Animal Kingdom as it started to drizzle, this is the part when I realized that I had left my ponchos and umbrellas at home.

We were there far before park opening and so we waited in the roped off area right pass the gates.

After about 15 minutes, we were allowed to walk further into the park by the Tree of Life. We waited for about 20 more minutes in the drizzle.

We spoke with a CM who was so sweet, she wanted to know what we were planning to do that day. We told her that the first thing we wanted to do was meet Doug and Russell. She got so excited about that, i guess she thought it was weird for two young girls to be hype about meeting characters. They finally opened AK and we ran right over to Doug and Russell’s meet and greet.

There wasn’t really a need to rush because everyone else was running toward Everest and other attractions near the back of the park. Russell came out in just a few minutes but Doug wasn’t able to hang out with us. Russell made up for it, he was so cute! He grabbed our hands and pulled us forward.

He pointed to his tornado badge and he showed us how to earn one for ourselves. Then we all spun around like tornadoes! He also gave us lots of hugs, we made sure to tell him to tell Doug we missed and then we waved goodbye.

After leaving the M&G, we ran over to a nearby cart and I made a pin trade. The CM we talked to was really salty because warm pants aren’t part of the AK costumes. I can’t blame her, it was cold and wet!

Next on our agenda was to meet Minnie and Mickey! We were attempting to do 4 parks in one day and meeting Mickey in every park too! We headed over to the only place left where you can meet Minnie and Mickey together.

We were happy for a warm and dry place to stand for a while. It didn’t take long to see Minnie and Mickey, Minnie was so excited for my ears. I told her I was just trying to be as pretty as she was!

Then we realized that there are two kinds of people who meet fur characters, there’s the people that silently mime back to the fur characters giggle and then there’s people like me who talk their ear off and then interprets what they’re saying.

Rachel wanted Minnie and Mickey too take a picture with her new puppy's ears although I'm pretty sure everyone else in line thought we were expecting a baby

January 29th, 2016 (Part 2)

Please Stand Up Before Exiting The Ride. BUH BYE
After leaving Minnie and Mickey, we headed over to Expedition Everest and hopped on in less than five minutes. Why does this ride get scarier every time I ride it? I don’t understand.

Our faces says it all, LOL

I want to frame this picture and put it on my wall.

We stopped at a pin trading place and tried to find an “I Lava You Pin” but they didn’t have it at that particular place. We also made a stop at Dinoland because Rachel wanted to ride the Primeval Whirl. Now If you watch my vlog you will hear me say (and I quote) "Some rides I just hate- like the Primeval Whirl...". I don't really even know how I was convinced to get back on this ride because every time I ride it, I honestly hate it so much. It's kinda okay though because after riding that, we had an inside joke about saying "Please stand up before exiting the ride. BUH BYE!". We say it to each other all the time! But I digress...

After that, we decided it was time for a warm drink from Starbucks- we got pretty wet while on the ride.

I love this Starbucks so much, the themeing is so beautiful!

I'm pretty sure I just got a Caramel Latte or something close to that.

The CM wrote my name so cute on my cup (Even if it is spelled wrong, lol)!

After grabbing our drinks, we walked over to my favorite place for taking pictures. It has such great view of Everest!

We were basically done in AK for the day and it was time to be headed to our next park. But we still had a little time before the Express Transportation to start bussing people. We were fine with that though, we took our time and even stopped for a little dance party.

We also popped in a little gift shop and bakery near Kilimanjaro safaris. I thought this shirt was so cute!

They were giving out free cookie samples at the bakery. I thought they were going to be nasty and hard but they were actually SO GOOD. I’m obsessed! (Sorry for the horrible quality haha)

It was finally time to get on our bus! We looked for Marcus but sadly, he wasn’t there. There was another CM there who remembered us and got really excited that we had come back!

I got really hype about the Shadowhunters Posters on all of the bus- I LOVE that show!

Next stop. Hollywood Studios! We got off the bus and immediately ran to TSMM. Rachel was just a little excited that we got to be on the new track.

I think Rachel won this time, she was a happy camper.

She was even best in the vehicle!
