Most people probably know all of the stateroom categories on the Magic and Wonder. But since I posted for the Dream and Fantasy, I decided to do the same for the Magic / Wonder, and also list the former category numbers:

Standard inside (11):
11C - Deck 2 Forward (Former Cat. 12)
11B - Deck 5 Forward/Aft, Deck 6 Forward/Aft (Former Cat. 11)
11A - Deck 6 Midship, Deck 7 (Former Cat. 11)

Deluxe inside (10):
10C - Deck 1, Deck 2 Aft (Former Cat. 10)
10B - Deck 2 Midship (Former Cat. 10)
10A - Deck 5 Forward (secret porthole), Deck 7 Forward (Former Cat. 10)

Deluxe Oceanview (9):
9D - Deck 1 (2 small portholes) (Former Cat. 9)
9C - Deck 2 Forward/Aft (1 large porthole) (Former Cat. 9)
9B - Deck 2 Midship (1 large porthole) (Former Cat. 9)
9A - Decks 5, 6, and 7, all Forward (1 large porthole) (Former Cat. 8)

Deluxe Verandah (5, 6, 7):
7A - Navigator's Verandah, Decks 5, 6, and 7, all Aft. A few (Rooms 6134, 6634, 7120, and 7620) are actually regular verandahs that are slightly obstructed (Former Cat. 7)

6A - White wall Verandah, Decks 5, 6, and 7, all Aft (Former Cat. 5 and 6)

5C - Plexiglass Verandah, Deck 5 Aft, Deck 6 Forward/Aft (Former Cat. 6)
5B - Plexiglass Verandah, Deck 6 Midship, Deck 7 Forward/Aft (Former Cat. 5 and 6)
5A - Plexiglass Verandah, Deck 7 Midship (Former Cat. 5)

Family Verandah (4):
4E - White wall Verandah, Deck 8 Aft (Former Cat. 4)
4B - Plexiglass Verandah, Deck 8 Forward/Aft (Former Cat. 4)
4A - Plexiglass Verandah, Deck 8 Midship (Former Cat. 4)

Concierge (R, S, T)
T - 1 Bedroom Suite, Deck 8, Accessible aft rooms have white wall verandah, others have plexiglass verandah (Former Cat. 3)
S - 2 Bedroom Suite, Deck 8 Forward, plexiglass verandah (Former Cat. 2)
R - Royal Suite, Deck 8 Midship, plexiglass verandah (Former Cat. 1)

Categories 8 (Family oceanview) and V (concierge family verandah) are used only on the Dream and Fantasy.

I edited the post to include the room number of the "secret verandah rooms" (the rooms with regular, plexiglass verandahs that are slightly obstructed that were downgraded to Cat. 7A). I didn't list the room numbers for the "secret porthole rooms" since all Cat. 10A rooms on Deck 5 (not the ones on Deck 7) are secret porthole rooms (rooms with a porthole with an obstructed view that are downgraded to Cat. 10A).

Are there any other non-standard rooms that should be listed?

5D/5E are on the Dream class this list is for the classic ships.

Hmm. Thanks. Never noticed that. I'm pretty sure my original booking for my upcoming cruise on the Magic was a 5D. Upgraded to a 5A, but I'm almost positive we started with a 5D

Looking at the deck plans, it appears that the sideways rooms are:

Cat. 11B: 5001, 5005, 5009, 5013, 5505, 5505, 5509, 5513, 6003, 6007, 6011, 6015, 6019, 6503, 6507, 6511, 6515, 6521

Cat. 10C: 2153, 2653

I also notice that Deck 6 has 4 rooms far forward that are inside rooms but on the outside of the ship. I assume there is nothing special about these rooms.

There used to be a list of noisy staterooms on Decks 1 and 2, but I can't find it anymore. Somebody should post that.

How about the four "special" mid-ship 1-bedroom suites? They are the only ones with a triple-wide verandah, and the pull-down Murphy bed in the living room, instead of the bedroom:

8032
8034
8532
8534

Moderators: Is there any way to turn this thread into a sticky? Or maybe clean it up and post just the useful info as a sticky? There are frequent questions about stateroom categories, mostly because people can't find this thread.

In searching the Internet archives, I found the list of noisy rooms on Decks 1 and 2 of the Magic and Wonder. This is from many years ago, so it's possible that it may no longer be entirely up to date.

1030 - 1037
1062 - 1064

2000 - 2004
2032
2036 - 2047
2078 - 2085
2094 - 2096
2114 - 2129
2139 - 2153

2500 - 2520
2534 - 2547
2586 - 2600
2626
2630 - 2653

Too bad no such list exits for the Dream and Fantasy.

I bought a copy of the Passporter guide, and it gave info on which staterooms are noisy. I assume I am allowed to post this as long as I credit the Passporter guide:
Cat. 11C: All rooms, since they are directly below Beat Street / Route 66
Cat. 10B / 10C: It says that most of these rooms are noisy, since the have noisy venues above. The rooms in this category that it recommends are: Odd numbered staterooms between 2071-2075, 2571-2575, 2101-2111, 2601-2611, 2629-2635, and 2129-2135.
Cat. 9D: The noisiest are 1030-1037
Cat. 9C / 9B: The noisiest are 2000-2004, 2036-2044, 2078-2096, 2114-2129, 2140-2152, 2500-2508, 2586-2600, 2626, and 2630-2653.
Cat. 5B: 6588 (Across from laundry room)
Cat. 5A: 7590 (Across from laundry room)
Cat 4A: 8036-8044, 8536-8544 (Under Goofy Pool)
Cat. T: 8032, 8034, 8532, 8534 (Under Goofy Pool, but as others have mentioned, they have a different layout that other Cat. T rooms)
