Hi-

DH and I are heading down in less than two weeks for a weekend w/o the kids. I am interested in Shula's Steak House at the WDW Dolphin but it sounds identical to Morton's Steak House. Has anyone eaten at both? We have eaten at Morton's and love it but I was wondering if the two are very similar. If so- we will try Shula's some other time.

TIA

They are similar, like Ruth's Chris as well. I've only eaten in the San Francisco Morton's a couple of times, but I have to say, I enjoy the food at Shula's more (but I like Ruth's Chris more than either :) )

We've stopped going to Shula's becuase there are SO many other restaurants that are different from what we have at home. BUT, it is a great steakhouse and you wouldn't be disspointed if that's your kind of meal!

I agree. They're pretty much the same except for the football theme at Shula's. We don't eat at Shula's often either, cause it is so much like Morton's, which we frequent at home. By the way, bekkiz, your schnauzer is adorable!

They are pretty much the same BUT I agree that Ruths' Chris is still the best of the lot.

Has anyone had the lobster? We love gallagher's in NYC. The steak's are aged to perfection on the premises & the flavor is fantastic. The lobster can be ordered broiled rather than steamed & it is the most delicious lobster I have ever eaten. I can perfectly steam a lobster at home but there's no way I can split it & grill it.

We will be there in February & if they have broiled lobster & aged steaks it would be a perfect birthday for me.

I too agree that Mortons and Shula's are basically the same. In my opinion, the quality of both has gone down over the years, especially when compared to a Ruth's Chris, where the quality has gone up in my opinion. I wouldnt go into the meal with too lofty of expectations, so as to avoid disappointment...

Shula's has a football theme? :scared:

My preferences would be (in order)
However, all are excellent.
. . . Ruth Chris'
. . . Shula's
. . . Morton's

We enjoy Del Frisco's in Vegas and Orlando.
It's funny that at the same time in Las Vegas, Ruth's Chris get voted every year as most overrated steakhouse in town. This past year they won both best and overrated place by the locals.
Haven't tried Morton's or Ruth's Chris in Orlando yet.
Twice now we have been to Shula's where the waiter(same one two years apart what luck huh?) has complained and complained about Disney. We don't want to hear this stuff when you are trying to enjoy dinner at a premium. Enjoyed the steak though.

My favorite by far is Shula's! We love it! Next, would be Morton's, followed by a very distant 3rd, Ruth's Chris. We have ate at Ruth's Chris is Atlanta and at a new one in Columbia and just not impressed at all. Really not much better than any other steakhouse. But, Shula's and Morton's are worth every penny!!

I've eaten at all three. Enjoyed Ruth's Chris the best but none held a candle to Disney's Yachtman's Steakhouse. Just my 2 cents. Good Luck.:)

Shulas, then Mortons, then RC-best to worst

Shulas:banana: -great atmosphere, great service, steaks are amazing, but the supporting foods are the best
Mortons:woohoo: -too mainstream and chain-like
RC:eek: -who the heck needs to put drawn butter on a good steak, you may as well put ketchup on it-a non starter for me.

We've enjoyed Shula's very much. I like it better than the Mortons in Boston but the Boston Ruths Chris is superior!

I've never eaten at the ones in Orlando, my experiences are limited to some of the popular steakhouses in Philly and elsewhere around the country:
1.Capital Grille
2.Charley's (Tampa, FL)
3. Morton's
4. The Palm
5. Smith and Wollensky
6. Ruth's Chris

Shula's wouldn't even make the list. I only ate at the short lived Philly location once and it was terrible. I've had better steaks...everywhere.

If you are talking about nationwide steakhouses, Peter Lugar's in NYC, the Chicago Chophouse, and Delmonicos in Vegas top my list. I do enjoy the Palm and Smith and Wollensky as well.
