We've been to Tchoup Chop twice, and now want to try Emeril's. Is Emeril's much more expensive?

How does service compare? We had superb service at Tchoup Chop the first time, and less than satisfactory the second.

Tell me your favorite appetizer, entree and dessert at Emeril's, and if there is anything to avoid.

Thanks for the input!!

I think TC's and Emeril's service are both outstanding. Emeril's might be a little more expensive and I think TC is more romantic. Both have great food.

Thanks for the reply Motherfletcher. I really enjoy Tchoup Chop (and the menu appeals to me more) but my DH really wants to try something new after doing Tchoup Chop twice. It really won't be romantic with my DS12 along anyway ;)

We made our kids sit outside and watch at Emeril's :rotfl:
They went to NBA City. Emeril's would be wasted on them.

Just got back and did both Emerils and Tchoup Chop.

Service: Outstanding at Emerils, mediocre at Tchoup Chop
Look: Emerils is very sterile, Tchoup Chop is beautiful
Price: Roughly the same
Food: I preferred Tchoup Chop this time. At Emerils, I had the BBQ shrimp, quail, and souffle a la mode. The shrimp was good, quail was so so to me, and the souffle was outstanding. At Tchoup Chop, I had the special, which was New York Strip & Spiced Shrimp with asparagus and mashed potatoes. The shrimp was outstanding...it had some kind of different spice on it but I don't remember what it was. Had the crab cake for the appatizer and it was pretty good. The chocolate peanut butter cake was outstanding for dessert. My cousin got the banana cream pie both times...he said it was great.
I went to Emerils last September and it was better. I had the filet mignion instead of the quail. I guess the point is to not get the quail. I've had great luck with the specials, so go there if you like it. Wish I would have done that this time at Emerils.

Tchoup Chop wins for me, but if you have never tried Emerils, then you should go there - the service has been great everytime that I've been there.

I'll preface my remarks by noting we've been to Emeril's numerous times but Tchoup Chop only once, so I may be prejudiced toward Emeril's.

That being said, I agree that the service at Emeril's surpasses Tchoup Chop. Emeril's is consistently the top notch, professional, attention to detail type of service that you'd expect for the level of restaurant that it is, whereas I found the service at Tchoup Chop to be good, but far more casual and without the perfection they seem to always achieve at Emeril's.

I think Tchoup Chop is beautiful and the resort location is excellent for relaxation. I also think Emeril's stark blonde wood/black iron contemporary look is very cool and Citywalk location great for those looking for some action before/after their meal. The glass enclosed "patio" area is fantastic for people watching while you eat :)

I too found the pricing to be comparable between the two restaurants. We've never had an appetizer, entree, or dessert that we could complain about at either restaurant and, while I personally prefer the varied selection at Emeril's as opposed to the poly/fusion focused offerings at Tchoup Chop, I don't believe you can go wrong with either restaurant and really think you should give Emeril's a shot.

Happy to answer any specific questions you might have.

Thank you! I guess I will give Emeril's a try this trip!
