Compact video camera recommendations

I decided that I might like to get a compact video camera. I am looking for something that is not ridiculously expensive but small enough to carry easily and that will do a good job. Does anybody have any recommendations?

I have a Kodak Zi8 and love it! I like that it has external memory (SD card) and it records in HD. The sound and picture quality are awesome and it's extremely compact when we travel. I've been very pleased with it!

My DH and DD got me the Kodak playsport for my birthday specifically because it was able to take video underwater and I wanted it for the water parks in Disney.
Another good choice - from what I hear - is the Sony Bloggie.
This is a video from my camera taken outside. Comes out great in HD and is very easy to convert and also upload to FaceBook and YouTube

My husband has a Flip and loves it. I believe it holds about 2 hours of video, but then can be easily downloaded onto a laptop and start over. And he's never far from a laptop.

I also have a small handheld that works with mini video tapes. They each hold about 6-8 hours. Fill one up, pop it out, pop in a new one and keep going. I plug the camera into the tv via a cord and watch directly on the big screen. But then, it's harder to convert that to digital for online things.

It would really depend on what you're looking for in terms of what you're going to be doing with the video and how you'd prefer to watch it back.

We have a Kodak PlaySport and we chose it because it uses SD memory cards instead of internal memory, you can buy additional batteries for it instead of it having an internal battery to charge, it records in full HD 1080p (whereas the Flip only records in 720p) plus it's waterproof. We love it!
