Compact digital camera ?????

I just got a Pentax Optio W20 because I work in construction management and don't like to take my dslr on to dusty construction sites. It is 7mp, dustproof and waterproof- you can take it 6' under water for 30 minutes. I think it was around $225 at B&H. And I can't wait until next summer so I can try some underwater shots of the kids in the pool! Here are a few samples from work...

Gdad.....thanks for the pictures. They look pretty good. And I like the waterproof thing. Another camera to check out. Thanks :)

I decided to get the Canon SD700. It's about the same thing and about the same size as the SD800, with image stabilization. It has a little more zoom (140mm or 4x relative to its widest angle compared with 105mm for the SD800) but not as wide of a maximum angle (38mm which is quite standard for a point-and-shoot instead of 28mm).

Disney hints:

(mm focal length in 35mm film camera equivalents, not relative to the focal length stamped on the camera itself.)

I have a Canon SD700 and I love it. When I bought it (about 3 months ago now) it had excellent reviews online, and it's definitely lived up to the hype. And size-wise it is awesome for Disney trips - it fits perfectly in a Passporter pouch with room left for money, tix, etc. :thumbsup2

I am hearing good things about the Canon SD700/SD800. I think we will go try them out and see if they work for us. :)
