Community Room at BWV

We just got back from a one week trip over New Year's. For the first time our family used the Community Room extensively. It was wonderful.

Between the whole family playing air hockey, ping pong, regular hockey and video games and our youngest DD having a great time with arts and crafts, we loved it. And the quiet pool is great and was a lot warmer than the big pool. It was like bath water. It was also nice to talk to other DVCers around the area.

I think because of the New Year's crowds and the length of our trip, we tended to come back to the hotel in the afternoon and enjoy what the BWV's have to offer more than we had done in the past.

How do others feel about the community room?

My nephews (5 and 16 months at the time) really enjoyed Community Hall. The staff was wonderful with the boys and even gave the youngest one his own character "Kush" ball. (My godson is really a cutie and quite advanced for his age. The CMs couldn't believe he was only 16 months. Of course, I am biased, though, LOL).

We enjoyed the games, the free video rentals and really appreciated the free "Length of Stay" life vest for swimming. The vest made it possible for the 5 year old to enjoy the Luna Park slide without one of the adults standing near the bottom "just in case". Actually the life guard suggested the vest to my SIL. My nephew was a good "dog-paddler" at the time, but none of us were quite comfortable with him using the slide on his own until he had the life vest.

I think Community Hall is one of the most underused perks of the Boardwalk Resort, especially if you are traveling with children!

You are right, this is one of the most enjoyable aspects of all of our vacations. We have requested, and recieved a ground level room adjacent to the pool/community hall twice.

In fact, last Jan (30- 2/2) we were the first users of the pool since it's refurb. The CM's in the community hall brought out ballons, pop corn, and sodas for us!! (we went without the kids). They even had the front desk call and leave a voicemail congradulating us!
