Can anyone tell me about community hall at BWV? I remember reading somewhere that you can rent movies at no cost. Anything else to look out for/take advantage of? Thanks!

BTW--Does anyone know if there is going to be a community hall at SSR? I think I remember reading about this, too.

Community Hall is great. They have video games and table top games like ping pong, foosball and air hockey (all free). They have a large arts and crafts table for kids to sit at and be creative on their own. They also have pop corn and soda for sale (save your pop corn box and re-fill it for a cheaper price). Movies are also available. This is where you pick up noodles for the "quiet pool" and can sign the kids up for activites like arts and crafts or fishing.

I agree with HBC's assessment of Community Hall. We find it to be a very, very nice enhancement offered at BWV. The quiet pool, which is right outside of the CH, has one of the most relaxing and secluded hot tubs on WDW property. We borrow movies & books, play the games, get pool noodles, attend scheduled activites, etc., at the CH, almost every trip--we love it!

My DS (6) and even my younger DS (2) had a great time at Community hall when we were there in February. It's not a huge place, but there's always a helpful CM available to answer questions and there's a bunch of free stuff to keep the kids happy....

A few free play station games; a few free upright video game machines; as well as the games mentioned above and a little sitting area with a TV. It's one of the things that makes it easy to spend a day without ever thinking about the parks and still walk away feeling it was a day filled with Disney Magic.

I just wanted to add that in addition to getting noodles for the quiet pool, CH is also the place that you can check out a life vest for the pool for the entire length of your stay at BWV. We have small kiddos and we get 2 life vests the first day we are there and return it the last day.

I believe I have read the same thing on these boards. I would hope so, it is a very nice addition to a DVC resort. No Community Hall is possibly the only flaw in an otherwise perfect VWL!! :p

can I ask is this free? and are they appropriate for 2 1/2 year olds.
Thanks
Tara

It is free, but if you do not return it, you will be charged, because you have to prove that you are staying in the hotel. Last yr we got 2 of them, one for 6 yr old dd and one for 26 month old ds, so yes it is appropriate for a 2 yr old.

Community Hall is a great place in BWV, also in OKW, HH and VB. I wish they had put one in teh BCV and VWL. I hope there is one at SSR. The kids really enjoy the games and the activities.

Thanks for all this great information. We are definitely going to check it out. Sounds like a great alternative to the game room closer to the lobby. I think my son will love it.

BTW- Do you take the movie rentals back to your villa or do you watch them in community hall?

Take the movies to your room -- up to three of them -- and return them the next day. Needless to say, there is a large selection of kid and family type movies, but some for older folks as well (I was going to say for adults, but didn't want you to get the wrong idea!!! ).

Thank you for the information! We will be at BWV this June and will definitely check it out!

My two kids, DD4 and DD1, had a great time at Community Hall. We were last in WDW at the beginning of December and since it was a little too chilly to swim every day we ended up spending a lot of time there. The baby played with the big Legos and my older child had a blast playing Disney Bingo with a CM and some other kids. Winner got a free ice cream. And, of course, this being Disney, they played until every kid won.

P.S. There is also a shelf of paperbacks for adults, plenty of Disney picture to color and loads and loads of crayone.

I haven't been to a Community Hall (yet), but according to the disneyworld.com website, there will be one at SSR.
