committed to purchase of new resort

I emailed my CM, Jim McCoy, and told him that he could count on me for at least a 50 point add on when (or if) a new Contemporary DVC resort is announced for sale. Have any of you done the same for any rumored new resorts?

I called mine and said-if they add on a new resort-I know you cant tell me but...will I be able to add on 50 points?
And he said-"If" they build the Contemporary Resort, yes, you will be able to add on 50 points.

We also called our guide and said to let us know as soon as we could purchase CRV points. We've asked him about it often enough (though he gives away nothing) that he I'm sure will be contacting us if it happens.

Keep in mind that there is likely to be a significant length of time — typically well over a year — between the date that any new DVC resort is announced and the date that points become available for sale.

Points won't go on sales until both of the following occur:

• Disney wants to start selling, which might not happen until SSR sells out or is close to selling out.
• Disney is legally allowed to start selling, having completed registration of the timeshare offering and complying with timeshare laws (which happens on a state-by-state basis).

And when the points finally go on sale, they won't sell out overnight. Just remember how long points for the smaller DVC resorts, such VWL and BCV, were available.

So, while it doesn't hurt to let your guide now you're interested, there no compelling reason to send e-mail now — before we even know where the next DVC resort will be.

Already been told all of the above by my guide. I still told him to keep me on the "call" list. I do not have an immediate need for more points, but I will in the future.

I will wait for the Contemporary Villas. I wrote to Jim McCoy, my CM, promising to buy when or if the CV was announced.

I congratulate those of you who are going to buy at AKV. Unfortunately. it is not my cup of tea.

I told my guide about a year and a half ago that if Contemporary every became a reality I would add on. At that point, he had a list of about 10 people.

Does anyone remember how long ago the Contemporary rumor started?
