Commercials That You Find Offensive

Oh, and I forgot the ones I really hate. I despise radio commercials that sound like a car accident or an ambulance siren. Every once in a while it'll startle me and make me think it's for real.

The Dentyne commercial where the girl takes a piece of gum and then CLIMBS on top of her BF and starts going at it.....with mom and dad looking on...no class at all

also hate feminine hygene products
Mens "enhancement" products
where women are displays for their chests...and who care what the product is.

Any political commercial based on half-truths and slanted views.............
which means pretty much all of them :smooth:

Any and all of the commercials for erectile dysfunction! My 5 year old asked me "whats an erection and why do you have to go to the hospital if it lasts more than 4 hours"!!!! There is NO need for that on TV..especially daytime and early evening TV...put it on after 10pm!!

Not offensive, but the wellbrutrin one. "I'm glad it has a low risk of sexual side effects" I really didn't need to know that.

I find all commercials offensive! :rotfl: But the worst are the ambulance chasing ones. You know, the "Larry H. Parker got me 2.1 million dollars" ones. Maybe not offensive, per se, but really, really annoying.

The pharmaceutical ones are bad too. I think they're misleading.

Same with the female products... But then again, they've taught me how to stop a sinking boat! :magnify:

You mean just like the ones for regular stuff?

I can't stand the Burger King commercials "wake up with the king" and a man wakes up next to the ugliest king I have ever seen. And then there is another one where these women are showing their stomachs with words painted on their bellies........don't remember exactly what the medication is but just think the commercial is stupid.

1) Screaming car ads on the radio, 2) merchants who are clearly so ego-centric they put themselves, their kids, and their pets in their tv commercials.

Around here, it seems that all the car dealers like to think of themselves as celebrities, and feel the need to "star" in their own commercials. You're selling cars for pete's sake...that does not make you famous. If I hear "Sandy Sansing Can..." one more time, I'm gonna scream.

Sandy Sansing Can..... Sorry, I couldn't resist.:teeth:

Many weight loss commercials are pretty offensive. The weight loss companies act like they think we're all stupid.

Pregnancy test commercials where they assume all women want a positive result.

The birth control patch- "I couldn't remember to take the Pill every day!"- makes women look like idiots.

Patricia Heaton's ACME ads drive me nuts too.

The Foot Fungus one, where the little monster lifts up the toenail...ewww...I can't even think about it...sorry...

Also, (this one may be controversial???), the one for the church with the bouncers at the door bothers me.

As a reformed member of the television advertising world, I HATE those commercials...I can't tell you how many times I tried to talk those small buisness owners out of doing an ad like this. I can on the other hand tell you how many times I was able to talk them out of doing it....in fact I can count them ON my other hand.....sigh...I HATE those things.

I don't find it offensive personally, but I change it if kids are around, ads for aspercreme....any one seen those? Something like.."is there a solution for sore muscles? You bet your aspercreme there is!" Try explaining that one to kids....or even worse, how to explain to their parents when they start repeating that line cause they think its funny.

So if you are on a boat make sure you have that product on hand! :rotfl:

I agree! This one gives me the willies.

I also hate the "male enhancement" commercials with the smiling Bob. What a creepy guy.

The shampoo-gasm is Clairol Herbal Essence.

I generally find commercials annoying rather than offensive. The first time I hear the erectile dysfunction one with the warning about four hour erections, my mom and I looked at each other and just started laughing.

I wouldn't have been so amused if my kids were in the room though.

I do really hate the one that shows the woman working out, then she splits into two images, and the voiceover talks about the twin problems of "itching and odor", but thank goodness there's a product that will take care of both! I can't help but think that the actress' lycra bodysuit is the real source of her problem, and if she would just switch to cottons, she wouldn't need a special cream!

Ladies - is anyone as preoccupied with their freshness as these ad folks seem to think we are? Bathing every day seems to work fine for me!

The herbal essence commercial.
The toenail fungus commercial.
The girly commercials with stickiness as their main topic.
The smiling-Bob commercials.
The commercials with car dealers.
The commercials with the owners kids and family.
and
The burger king commercials.

The Build-A-Bear commercials. All the happiness of it makes me want to vomit :crazy2:
