Loved the location. Daughter LOVED the pool. Decor too was great... Also liked that we could see the fireworks kinda -- from our room... We stayed in a 1 BD at #171. Kind of a long walk from the room outside, but that was ok.

However, the beds are AWFUL! Ok, we're not talking a fab Sealy, but the queen was SO uncomfortable. And, the pull-out couch, well, honestly, we can't justify putting our daughter on another!

Water was hot, but pressure wasn't the greatest in the shower. Passable. Also, I didn't like the motion sensor for the AC, tho we had the temperature controlled to what we like...

And, the kleenex -- or tissues -- Really, I wouldn't use them on my bottom! Even the TP was softer! I know they're cutting costs, but I don't need to cut my face on them!!!! It's a shame to have to bring your own tissues!!!!

Another complaint, where was the huge jacuzzi????? I mean only ONE person could fit in there. We've stayed at the WL and Boardwalk and both villas could fit 2 people. This was really a tiny one...

All that aside, I think Disney should make some of these slight improvements and we would have been totally happy campers!

I will be writing to them to make the next trip even better...

Well, since you gave the thumbs up sign for your post, I guess overall you had a great vacation....glad to hear that.

Interesting comments about the beds...especially since they're so new. That's the first complaint I've read in a "trip report" on this board about the BCV beds...hopefully you just got a bad one??

Thanks for taking the time to post your thoughts and comments regarding your stay. :)

But the beds did stink! And, I would imagine they WERE new! I really think DVC should be aware of the little complaints tho...

I wasn't trying to disagree with your assessment of the beds...just commenting that I hadn't read that here to my recollection.

I agree wholeheartedly that making DVD aware of concerns is a great idea. Often, I think people will take the time to post a complaint here and not contact DVD about it....makes no sense if the goal is to change things!

We stayed at BCV in July and found the beds very comfortable. I even slept on the sleeper sofa one night. Maybe I was just tired.

That must have been one honkin' big person to take up the hot tub at the pool. Unless you are talking about the one in the bathroom. It's a bathtub, for one person, not a hot tub.

You'll have to go to OKW to get a real hot tub in your room. Shhhh don't tell anyone:D

Unless a 1 BD has different sizes for tubs than the 2 BD. We've been at HH and Broadwalk and both had a jacuzzi in the room that fit both of us...

I thought that was what we would get at the Beach Club...

We agree about the sofa bed!!!!

My sister, myself and cousin all felt that the sofa was much better at the BWV. In fact my cousin had stayed in a villa earlier and this trip stayed at the BC because she didn't want to get a studio and require someone to sleep on the sofa! (she is not DVC)

I also agree on the water pressure. I like lots of water.

My DH and I were at BCV in early November and thought the beds were very comfortable. In fact, we commented that the comfortable beds and pillows are one of the reasons we like to vacation at WDW. I guess everyone has their own preference for beds as well as for views, theming, location, etc.

I agree about the kleenex though. I had a cold while we were there and it wasn't the softest I've ever used.

Glad you had a great trip though.

Funny, you thought about the tissues. I was thinking that DVC usually had 2 boxes of tissues in a 1BR. We only had 1 in the tub bedroom. Wasn't there one in the main living room?

Ever since manufacturers stopped stringing the mattresses down to the sofabed frame, I've been removing the mattress and putting it directly on the floor. It gives me better support. Each night we just put it back in the sofa.

Did DVC also stop giving out the shower caps and the tube of lotion?

I was shocked that I was given a refill of Tide but NOT dishwasher powder on trash and towel day.

What about the hand towels? I thought for every bath towel, we were given a hand towel. We had 4 bath towels but 2 hand towels. I usually like to have one to "turbanize" my hair. The 2 hand towels are for the 2 bath sinks.

Only 1 box of rough tissues... No lotion, no shower caps... I think things are getting a bit tough for them or something...

I really think the sofa bed wasn't very good. Nor, our bed, to tell you the truth... I'm planning on writing DVC (since they invited comments...)

After all, we are their backbone, no????

TOTALLY agree about the tissue! I will try to remember to bring my own because theirs is like sandpaper! The toilet paper isn't much better, though.

We have a great mattress at home with all cotton sheeets, so sleeping is a bit tough on vacation. Once we even brought our own fitted sheet, but when you are trying to pack light, some things get left out of the suitcase....

I am pretty sure the tub is the same; my husband has used the tub in both BCV and BWV, and he complained that both of them are too small.;)

In October we stayed at BCV, and both my husband and I would awake warm during the night. I would go to the living room and wave my hand in front of the thermostat to get it going again. It was annoying, although at BWV I usually wake up cold.

We really don't like the bathroom setup at BCV. We are glad we stayed there to try it out, but we are SO happy we own at Boardwalk.
