We just returned from a week long visit that included stays at OKW, Vero and the Boardwalk. We had a great time, and still love each of the resorts.
But I have a question for any who might know...
This was the first time I ever remember there being cleanliness issues, and they were at not one but all three resorts. Has something changed?
At OKW the problem was just that they hadn't apparently done a really thorough cleaning in quite some time. It showed up in the heating vent being full of dust...if you didn't look there it was fine, but once you did it looked like a dryer lint trap....kinda ewwww! Then around the tile grout near (but not ON) the floor of the bathrooms there were similar areas where it had apparently not been cleaned in some time. Finally, (more of a maintenance issue) the rubber trap that covers the disposal in the sink was missing. Not a big deal until you turn on the disposal after putting cereal into it....learned to take a BIG step back! We reported this but nothing was done during our stay, I don't know if it is the type of thing that is easily fixed or if the whole sink/drain has to be replaced.
At Vero, our only housekeeping issue was the top of the fridge, but it was just plain disgusting. Somebody had obviously stored food there, and the food remained. It was impossible to tell how long it had been there.
Then at the Boardwalk, the problem was that some type of either toothpaste or shower gel or something had splattered on the wall tile and had not been cleaned up.
We didn't go in with a white glove, but these issues hit us in the face. Do they have a policy about cleaning more than just the sinks, tubs, sheets and floors?
Just curious, we had never noticed this sort of inattention to detail before.
