Commencing Operation Christmas Miracle Trip 2010: PTR

I LOVE "Bagheera"! GREAT Disney cat name! :thumbsup2 We had an orange cat named Rahjah and a black one named Jasmine. They were a "couple." And after Jasmine was hit by a car, I swear that Rahjah mourned for her. I would find him crying in the driveway and then a few days later HE was hit by a car a few feet from where she was. Our driveway is about 1/4 mile long so the kitties spend most of their time around the house and the woods. It was very unusual for either of them to be up by the road.

Awww, that is a sad yet sweet story!

I'm working on a digital scrapbook album for my parents' 50th wedding anniversary...but what I secretly really want to be doing is working on Disney photos!

Update on Kitty: We decided to name her "Boo" and call her "Boo Boo". She's coming along nicely. DSS took her back to visit the clinic today and show off her progress.

How about Tripod? Peggy Legs? Isosceles, you know like the triangle with sides with two equal lengths.

If it was my cat I would go with Eileen. Get it, Eileen, I lean!:lmao:

Darn, late to the party. I still think you should go with my choice.

I'm thrilled you went with Boo! Very cute on calling her Boo Boo!

Everyone who meets her likes Boo Boo--it seems to fit her. She's a real snuggler.

I should have known I could count on you to come up with Eileen. (Is there a smiley for "shaking my head?") I did mention that you said that to my DSS....you and DSS must have the same sense of humor because he thought that was really funny.

Doing the "Paid in Full Dance" today. It looks kind of like this:

:mickeyjum:dogdance::jumping1::cheer2::woohoo: :cool1:
My "pay date" is Oct. 15, but I read on my trusty :worship: Disboards that Disney reservations will be down for a couple of days next week, and I, being the OCD planner that I am, decided to call my TA today and get it all taken care of. I had 4 Disney rewards cards with $1128 in rewards $$ on them. :woohoo: Apparently it pays to spend money. (Do NOT tell DH I said that!)

shapeimage_2.png

Wendy the Wonderful, my fabulous TA, took all my card numbers and is spending her day paying off my disney vacation. I hope she's still speaking to me after this.

It makes it SO much more REAL that we are going when it's all paid for! And there's only 2 months left.

I'm in the midst of planning a big weekend scrapbook retreat and I'm so torn between wanting to get ready for that....and wanting to think about and plan and play with Disney stuff for our trip. What to do....what to do....:scratchin My retreat is the first weekend of November. I have 36 people coming this year (my biggest one ever). First things first I guess. Don't want to disappoint 36 customers!

congrats for paying off the trip in full! :woohoo:

hehe it is hard to decide what to plan first! ... it's like I get carried away with honeymoon planning, then remember.. we've got a trip to the World 6 months before then!

Hope you've had a good week :goodvibes

Yaaa! on paying off the trip! We just paid ours off too! Doesn't it just make things so final?!? :cool1:

So you are a scrapper too!!!! I love, love, love scrapbooking! I will actually be at a weekend crop the weekend after yours. I am so excited. I was supposed to go to a weekend last weekend but Gavin sick so i had to stay home. DH said this is my weekend for me, before a weekend of packing and then Disney. I am starting to think I love November!!!

Awesome use of reward dollars! You just have to go, it's nearly free!! :rotfl:

Yay for paying it off. I think we have 15 more days before it has to be. But if not, then I'll still keep working on him and rebook something. The good thing is with our room only AKL, I have till 6 days prior to cancel that one.

Speaking of Things I've Never Done.....

I've been making a mental list of things I've never done at Disney, attractions or little things that I think would be neat (do I sound totally 70's there??)

For instance:
I've never ridden in any of the Main Street Vehicles. I think I'd like to do this one:

Never seen the Hall of Presidents:

And I've never seen these shows at Epcot:

What? There's a ride in Mexico???

Despite my love :lovestruc of the Muppets, we've never managed to see this either:

My kids have never been to The Enchanted Tiki Room. (I know! They are missing a cultural experience!! What kind of mother am I?) DH tries to get us in there every time....and there's always something better to do.

I think we'll try to fit in something each day that we've never done before. That sounds like a fun goal for the trip! :goodvibes Of course, I'll have to convince the others.....

Please say it isn't so! My best friend hasn't seen the American Adventure? If you don't cry by the end, its almost un-American :goodvibes. You HAVE to see this show (although I will admit to an occasional nap there). We like Hall of Presidents too. If you plan to ride the Mexican ride, listen to the song (I know you have it :rotfl:) a LOT before you go - it makes it so much more fun - "they say we are birds of a feather...."

I'm so sorry to disappoint you. You know I LIVE for keeping you happy! I can't believe I've never been in their either! What was I thinking??? I think the kids (at least DS) are old enough to appreciate some of these attractions a little more so I promise I'll try to get them in there this year. So which CD should I be listening to? I'll check when I get home. (Shhhh! At work right now!) :rolleyes1 I'm a little worried about how they may react to a certain president in the Hall though...and I think you know which one I mean!

Subbing! I followed you over from the Dec. 2010 thread as well.:wave2:

I enjoyed your "farm talk". I want to personally thank you for your contribution to the U.S. milk supply. I think farmers don't get the recognition they deserve! :goodvibes I've never tried raw cow's milk either, but tried raw goat's milk and it was pretty good! We live out in the country and my friends own a horse farm, which I help out there when I can. I moved from the "burbs" and IMHO there is nothing like the country life!!!:thumbsup2

I loved how you surprised the kids! I wish I had the will power to surprise my husband, but I get so excited, I can't keep quiet about it.:rolleyes1 I haven't said anything to my family that we are leaving (it's none of their business!) but I have told a couple of friends! The odds of my friends crossing paths with my family members is slim to none, so I don't have to worry about that! I was going to surprise my Nephew with a cruise for graduation, but his grades started slipping so I told him to pick up his grades or no cruise! I'm just not good at keeping a "Disney" secret"!:confused3

Looking forward to reading more of your PTR. Tomorrow is our 60 day dance :woohoo: on the Dec. thread. I'm so excited! I'm reading trip reports, PTR's, food reports, resort reviews... heck, I even went to the DCL thread to see whats going on over there! Although I cannot read the Oct. 30th cruise thread cuz that is the one we wanted to be on (and I had to cancel:sad1:).

But I'm happy now cuz we managed to squeeze in a Disney trip with free dining!:worship: We have not eaten out since August, not seen a movie, not bought anything we didn't need... sacrificed everywhere we could just so we could do this trip! I have been craving Chinese food for 2 months now but I keep telling myself "We'll eat out at Disney FOR FREE!":rotfl: I will sell a kidney if it will get me to Disney! (just kidding:laughing:)

:sad2:The sad thing about all this is I will soon have to give up riding my horse! Being the klutz that I am, my husband will be putting me "in the bubble wrap". His way of protecting me from myself before any trip!:confused3 He makes me stop doing "risky" things (like horseback riding) to ensure I arrive on vacation in one piece!:goodvibes

The count down continues!

I should have known I could count on you to come up with Eileen. (Is there a smiley for "shaking my head?") I did mention that you said that to my DSS....you and DSS must have the same sense of humor because he thought that was really funny.

I thought it was pretty good.

Welcome to my PTR! Thanks for reading and for your kind comments about dairy farming. It IS hard to keep a Disney secret because it's just so darned exciting! You want to share the joy with everyone, right? :cheer2:

I'm so sorry you had to cancel your cruise. We thoroughly enjoyed ours. I told Wendy the Wonderful that I'm starting to get the itch to plan another one. Don't know if I'll ever get DH to agree to that though! Not unless I win the lottery or something!

I am TOTALLY impressed :worship: that you have given up so much to afford your trip. I think that I can't let DH know about you or he'll be comparing me for sure....and I will not come out favorably in that deal!
:scratchin How much can you get for a kidney anyway? (Just kidding)

What kind of horse do you have? DH used to ride and show horses "back in the day." I have always loved them but am just a tiny bit fearful of them too. The cows don't scare me at all though. I'll get right in the pen or pasture with them.

Yes, yes I am. Are you looking forward to your scrapping weekend? I pulled out all the new CM Disney stuff to play with last night and started making some sample pages for my crop. We do 3 days so it's Friday - Sunday but I go on Thursday to get everything set up and a couple of my friends come too and we start early. This year we are having a massage therapist come in on Saturday. Won't THAT be nice? :cloud9:

Emma--I have to confess I am having the same issue! I work on my retreat....then I realize something I want to do for my December trip...and now I've started obsessing about the February trip with DD. And 2 days ago one of my BFF's (the one we went on the cruise with and spent our summer vacation with this year) called me and her family is also going to the World in December and our trips will overlap! She's a little late to the party so I'm helping her with plans and ADRs...although because of the reservation system being down I can't do much right now. DS and DD both have sciene fair projects to work on.....and we have a Fall Festival at our house every year for our entire church..... I scared myself writing it all down!

DH has been really ill  since last Friday. I finally convinced him to go to the doctor today. It's his GP though, so they will probably send him for some testing or refer him to a specialist. I'm actually quite worried about him. I've pretty much had to be a single parent since Friday since he's been unable to do anything at home....he comes home from work and goes straight to bed. I have to say I really admire people who are single parents all the time :worship: Don't know how you do it all but KUDOS to you!

DSS is at a job interview in PA right now. I think this is his first real face to face interview since he graduated from vet school this summer. He actually completed all his externships in September and has been living with us since then. I'm torn between really wanting him to find the job of his dreams....and knowing that once he does, everything will change. *sigh*
