Ok, let's take a look at some more of yesterday's updates, starting with another update from Jeanette (JintyB) from last Saturday night, Aug. 24th, at Magic Kingdom.


She said, "We park hopped to the Magic Kingdom just getting caught in a massive downpour in the car park - our ponchos were in the boot (trunk!)."



"Due to the rain, this show was again cancelled, but they did at least do a song. Something for our next visit!"







"We ate together this evening at..."






"Character interaction was a bit rushed, but everyone seemed to find something they liked from the buffet, even if they did forget to take a photo of it! I think the kids were better than we were at this meal. I know three of us had the peel 'n' eat shrimp, but not one in sight in these photos."

















"The desserts were really good. Turtle cake, lemon tart, coconut thing??!! These were all great, but the coconut thing was so much nicer than it looked - like creme brulee in a slice."

"Caramel Apple - this was a-m-a-z-i-n-g! Sharp juicy apple, sweet gooey caramel...sigh."

"We watched Wishes from the Carousel again and shed a few tears as it was the last time. Popping on IASW, the cast member at the entrance saw that the girls had been crying (she didn't mention me!) and offered us all fast passes for Peter Pan. So we rode both, did a Vinylmation swap and then went to Main Street to watch the Electric Parade."












"This fella wished us a Happy Anniversary."





"And so we left the Magic Kingdom for the final time (sort of!)." ​

A couple more updates from Jeanette (JintyB), the next one with more photos from their experience of being chosen as the Flag Family at the Wilderness Lodge.


She said, "My DH and I finally managed to sync our photo streams so I have some photos of the Flag raising we did at the Wilderness Lodge. This was a truly magical experience and probably the highlight of the whole trip for me. Ranger Jack gave us so much information on the architecture of the lodge and the DVC building, on Disney in general, on the history of the national parks, on the flags and so on."

"Our final morning at WDW and we got up to go and see the rope drop show at MK. I have NEVER seen it (!) and it was on my must dos for this trip and we hadn't managed it."

Brenda said, "Our final breakfast at WDW was at Magic Kingdom's..."






"There's a huge selection of breakfast choices from healthy fresh fruit options to the breakfast lasagna that has layers of waffles, pancakes, pound cake and a rich pastry cream and caramelized sugar. A glycemic episode waiting to happen for sure!"



"Here's our choices:"





"My 1st plate was the infamous puffed french toast, Mickey waffle, and a blueberry danish. The danish didn't get eaten after the first bite but everything else was awesome!"



"My 2nd plate was the hot savory options:"




"Sausage frittata, scrambled eggs and cheesy potato casserole. All of these choices were delish!"




"And finally...I went for the breakfast lasagna since this is vacation eating at its finest."

"Since we had a big breakfast we were not too hungry so we split a burger. Em chose Swiss for the cheese. We asked for the bacon and grilled onion on the side."

"DH and I shared the Breakfast Platter."



"This was just OK. The eggs were cold and the biscuit was dry. The potatoes were really good though."

"Sorry for the blurry photo. I was under caffeinated at the time."



"I got a chocolate croissant and a cinnamon bun for the kids but neither one of them would eat anything. So DH and I shared the chocolate one and I put the cinnamon bun away for later. The chocolate croissant was good."







"The cinnamon bun was HUGE. I got a photo next to the platter for scale."








"For a snack we got a root beer float from the cool snack truck in Animal Kingdom."





"We love the root beer floats here. So yummy."




"For lunch, we ate at Animal Kingdom's..."

"DH and I shared the ganache. It was good, but very sweet. So I was glad we shared. DD took the cupcake back to eat later. DS wanted a burger so he went back over to Hurricane Hanna's at Beach Club to get one. No photo."​

Let's begin the day by viewing the remaining updates sent to us on Saturday, starting with this one from our current Disneyland reporter, Chris (ChrisNY2).


He said, "This morning's inaugural Disneyland 10K was really fun! My post-race snack was a runDisney snack box. Some people hate these boxes, but I think they're a nice combination to tide me over post-race."






"For lunch I met up with fellow DISer, like2workout. We stopped by Adventureland's Tiki Juice Bar where I got a tiki mug filled with Dole pineapple juice. Yum!"






"We ate at Disneyland's French Market Restaurant. I had the Cajun meatloaf, which was delicious and a good way to get some much needed protein and carbs."

Our last update from Saturday was also from Disneyland, but this one came as a pleasant surprise from an "unscheduled" live reporter, DaisyluvzGoofy.


She said, "It's been a LONG time! (well, 5 months seems like a long time!) I've been swamped with a promotion I got a few months back, but I have an update for out here at the DLR!"

"It was my birthday on Tuesday and as a huge treat DH booked us into the Disneyland Hotel's...






"We've never been - and I'm not sure if anyone has posted this up yet, but if you're coming out here and want a great adults evening without the Napa Rose prices we had an EXCELLENT time."


"It's located inconspicuously next to Goofy's Kitchen within the Disneyland Hotel, and looks a lot like "just a bar", (I've heard you can order the whole menu at the bar as in the restaurant) but the restaurant is tucked back into the rest of the hotel, and you are escorted back, past some beautiful photos of Walt, almost like he's welcoming you to a family dinner."





"The walls are decorated with celebrity diners and some of Walt and his family. There's plenty of room to spread out and not feel like your conversation is heard by everyone around you."






"Our waiter Nick didn't rush us, we had plenty of time to be indecisive. In fact, we ordered our appetizer before we decided on our dinner. They also brought an amazing, soft yet crunchy, sourdough loaf with herb butter."


"First up was the Lump Crab Cakes, which DH declared were his favorite outside of Maryland. I asked our server Nick to pair me a white wine, and he gave me a perfect Riesling. Not too sweet, not too dry, boy oh boy was it just right!"







"From there our dinner choices were: DH had the Pre Fixe: Caesar Salad with Olive Tapenade, Flat Iron Steak with Shoe string potatoes and veggies which also came with the creme Brûlée. "





"He said the Caesar was good, but there was too much dressing."






"The flat iron steak was on the smaller side, but with the salad and dessert he was perfectly happy. He said the steak was done to his liking, and the Steakhouse 55 butter was great!"








"I had the Pistachio crusted Rack of Lamb."



"I've never had lamb in my life, but I figured, why not!? I'm RARELY spontaneous but I'm SO GLAD I was. It was AMAZING! Nick suggested having it medium and it was great! Think of the softness of a perfectly moist chicken breast meat, and the tenderness of a steak. The flavor was mild yet complimented perfectly buy the pistachio crusting. UGH. I have been dreaming about this lamb since Tuesday!!!"



"I ordered a side of the Garlic mash which was certainly worthy of this restaurant."



"There were some skins, but not overwhelming like the mash at other places and the garlic was just perfect. YUM! Nick paired my meal with a Pinot Noir that was fruity, not overly dry and brought out the flavor of the pistachio wonderfully. I couldn't have dreamed it was going to be that good, especially because I am not a red wine person at all. That lamb was so tender I could cut it with my fork!!! YUM!"





"After that meal (and we finished a second loaf of that "oh so fine" sourdough bread) we decided to just share the creme brûlée but in wonderful Disney fashion they brought me out a little chocolate flour-less dome cake. (YUM!) DH kept to his creme brûlée and was quiet and happy! haha!"
