She said, "Had an early lunch at Sunshine Seasons by The Land. Sorry forgot to take menu pics."








"I had the turkey with cheese on ciabatta bread sandwich with potato salad."



"Sandwich was fresh with lettuce and cucumber slices, not too heavy for lunch. Rice crispy treat was fresh too."



"Husband had the veggie pita."



"He liked it. Chocolate Chip muffin was good too."





"Son had the fried rice and Mongolian beef."




"He said it was better than Epcot China fried rice, a little spicy but we prefer it like that. Beef had snow peas and peppers pretty good. Croissant for dessert was flakey and buttery."

"We both went for the breakfast buffet."

"A pancake with chocolate syrup, rainbow sprinkles, and M&M', a sausage, a chocolate chip muffin, grapes, and Fruit Loops."



"My plate..."



"Baked tomato, bacon, cinnamon roll, potatoes, an egg with caramelized onions and cheese and the chef's frittata of the day. The frittata was good but I'm not sure what was in it. I also had a Mickey waffle with chocolate syrup and a piece of French toast."



"It was all good minus the bacon. I prefer crispy bacon."

25 days!! Got my instructions!

We are no longer visiting DTD and will take a side trip to Daytona to visit our college. So a few less pics than originally planned....

Next in was an update from Brenda (emmysmommy).


She and Em returned to Cinderella's castle on Saturday night, but this time it was to have dinner at...





Brenda said, "We had perfect timing with our 9:15 reservation coinciding perfectly with Wishes! We were seated at a table for two, front and center for the fireworks."













"Here's the menu:"













"We were started with rolls and butter..."



"Nothing special here."



"For appetizers, Em chose the strawberry/feta salad and she liked it."



"Winner salad!"



"Since I chose the "castle salad" that states on the menu has a hint of herb vinaigrette that's exactly what it had - barely any taste or flavor."




"Blah castle salad."

"I abandoned my salad and ate what Em left of hers. I would have been extremely happy to just eat that, it was so good!"



"For entrees, Em went with the recommendation of the beef tenderloin."




"It was very good. I also had a bite and agreed that Em was 2 for 2 with her choices. It was served with scalloped potatoes that reminded Em of my version. She never said if she liked them or not so perhaps I shouldn't assume that is a good thing."



"I went with the chicken breast that was served with a farro wheat risotto that was very tasty."




"The "sauce" is a mustard au jus. I really liked this dish and if I hadn't tasted Em's tenderloin I would have thought it worthy of ordering again."




"For dessert Em had the Chef's Dessert Trio..."



"So...three desserts, lemon meringue tart, tiramisu, and a banana bread pudding with a caramel pecan topping. "



"I tried the peach cheesecake and didn't like it so much."



"Not so good...peach cheescake."



"Our server brought me a cupcake that more than made up for it."



"Cupcake perfection."


"Aurora, Ariel, Snow White, and Jasmine made their rounds and Wishes was right overhead with the music piped in. It was a really fascinating perspective."



"Our server was practically perfect. We had an awesome dining experience from the service to the characters to the food and finally sitting directly under the apex of the Wishes fireworks spectacular. I think we both agree that we prefer the dinner over breakfast."


Brenda added one more thing, "We have so many CRT wands that after dinner we sought out two little princesses in order to give them away. We finally found two on Main Street that were so happy!"

Polynesian Resort Room Service


She said, "Splurged and had dumplings and a Lapu Lapu delivered to our room last night so I could watch the Electrical Water Weirdness and Wishes while snuggling a pineapple. It was awesome."

Thanks partially to this thread, we're renewing our AP's in September. We took the summer off, and it's been a long, (hot) boring summer. We usually only go for day trips, but I'm planning a surprise mother/daughter trip from Sept 13-16th. I'd love to live report, and to also have the option to live report from now until the end of the thread if you're interested. We're also planning on MNSSHP in September, so we're quickly filling our "twice a month" quota.

We usually only go for day trips, but I'm planning a surprise mother/daughter trip from Sept 13-16th. We're also planning on MNSSHP in September, so we're quickly filling our "twice a month" quota.

"The waffle fries were nice and crispy and the BBQ had a nice tangy taste to it. It is just so loud in there, but Jill loved it."​

"Robert was our server (we request him every trip) and greeted us with a hug and smooch."

"Em ordered the American breakfast with eggs (scrambled for her), toast, bacon (cooked perfectly crisp according to Em and sure enough it was dark and stiff!) and sausage with breakfast potatoes."



"The potatoes need to come off the menu - they were horrible and I speak first hand since I tried them. Ick! Everything else was good though."



"No surprise that I ordered the vanilla-laced French toast."




"It was delicious as always."



"Instead of meat I subbed a scramble egg."





"I am looking forward to coming back! This was the opposite experience from our dinner earlier in our trip. (Other than the awesome company at dinner!)"​

Gin said, "Dinner last night was at the Magic Kingdom's"...


Plaza Ice Cream Parlor



"Yep, it was "ice cream for dinner" night. We stopped at the Plaza ice cream shop where I had the ice cream sandwich with mint chocolate ice cream."





"It was really good."



"Jill had the "Eye Scream" sundae special with mint ice cream, hot fudge, whipped cream and a cherry."'





"We went to Magic Kingdom because we did the Fast Pass+ for the Main Street Electrical Parade. I have to say the viewing was great and completely uncrowded. It was well worth it for us."


"We went to Blizzard Beach today and my phone was in the locker. We just had regular park food...a hot dog and nachos.
It was fine and filled us up."


"Back to Magic Kingdom tonight for EMH. We will have to see what we pick up for dinner. It may be another ice cream." ​

"A few hours later, we were on our plane at MCO. After a failed take-off, our flight ended up being delayed due to a minor mechanical issue. The delay wasn't fun to deal with, but at least we know safety was the top priority. Furthermore, JetBlue definitely tried to make things right. Each person on the plane received a $100 credit that has to be used within the next year - I guess we need to book another set of flights."

Note from jabead: I vote for the first weekend in December. ​

Unfortunately, early December is out since it's right before final exams...but we're hoping to return for a short stay in the fall! We've already booked 2 nights at YC again, and we're just waiting to see what happens with flight prices (they're a little high right now).

I will say this: if the trip actually works out, we'll most likely be dining at California Grill.

"We hadn't been back here since they became a signature for lunch. I was craving their pretzel bread and cheese soup so that is exactly what I ordered. But first some menu photos and one of our table. It is so dark in here and tables are close so I didn't use the flash since someone was next to us at first."























"Sorry the menu pics are not great."



"Em ordered the Ricotta Cavatelli Pasta."





"She thought this was very good and ate every bite."




"As noted I had the soup, which was very tasty with the smokiness of the bacon and the tang of the ale. Very rich!"






"Pretzel bread..."





"I also ordered the heirloom tomato salad."




"I was disappointed in this since it just didn't deliver anything but a mediocre slice of two kinds of tomatoes and a quarter size piece of mozzarella for $12. Definitely not worth that."







"We looked at the dessert menu but I passed while Em ordered the ice cream sundae from the kids menu."






"I would return but this isn't at the top of my list and I would just stay away from the tomato salad!" ​

"There were red velvet, mocha, and a funfetti "birthday" cupcake. I chose the funfetti version."





"When the cupcake is cut in half, here's the middle:"





"I liked the buttercream center but not so much the hydrogenated oily based frosting on top. The cake itself was very good - just like Pillsbury!" ​

"Some funny uber heavy reading material in the waiting area."


"We had the same waitress in May and she had us do a little wedding renewal when we were done with lunch, complete with cake feeding and she had everyone in the room sign a card for us. It was very funny. She's great."

She and her family had dinner on Sunday night at...

















"First we were served the salad with lilokoi dressing...so good. Love the light tasting dressing. My son liked the welcome sweet bread the most."






"Next out the delicious pot stickers, lightly browned and chicken wings. Both very good."








"Then the noodles teriyaki with stir fried vegetables, yum! So flavorful and great."






"Then the chicken, which we all agreed was the best... BBQ tasting yet moist. The marinade was sweet with a little spice to it...fantastic."







"Pork was our least favorite, too thick and kind of dry."







"Steak was juicy and medium well done, with also a sweet tasting marinade....very good."







"Also forgot the shrimp which we didn't eat. Not big shrimp eaters. Also having to peel our own shrimp & seeing their legs isn't for me."







"Then the best dish of the meal... bread pudding with bananas foster sauce. Delicious! Crisp on top, soft in the middle. So fluffy and sinful."











"After over indulging in such a plentiful, delicious dinner we couldn't help but feel guilty, it was that good. Best meal we've had on this vacation. Service was great as well. We finished at 9:30pm and people were still sitting on the couches waiting for a table. Can definitely understand why this place books up so fast. It's worth it." ​

Brenda said, "We've only dined here for breakfast. From some of the dinner reviews on the live dining thread, I was looking forward to this meal."


"We were started with the amazing bread with macadamia nut butter."






"Menu photos:"










"Unfortunately we were not hungry so a full meal did not appeal to either of us. However, after seeing so many of the teriyaki steaks delivered to other tables, we decided to split that entrée. It is served with broccolini and sticky rice."




"The steak was delivered with an extra plate so we could split it ourselves. It was delicious!!! I loved this meal."



"Our server, Alfredo, delivered an artfully arranged plate of lemon slices for iced tea."





"We intended to order dessert but the one thing we wanted, Alfredo talked us out of...the pineapple upside down cake was dry according to him. Thanks for the honesty, buddy!"





"Looking forward to returning one day."
