"Charlie had to have this craft beer...chocolate peanut banana ale. For $23 I'd expect it to not taste like beer but nope, still does. Ick. He loooooves it!"

"Super rich and tasty! Not a super strong mushroom flavor though."

"It had a great subtle heat and the seafood was fresh and flavorful."

Slow-roasted 64° Buffalo Strip Steak with Smoked Gouda-Yukon Gold Potato Smear, Romano Beans, Red Onion Marmalade, and Verjus Gastrique

"He thought it was amazing, and really loved the caramelized onions served with it. I tried a bite and found the meat too weirdly sweet, glad I didn't order it!"




"I was torn between the halibut and scallops and chose the halibut."



Pan-roasted Alaskan Halibut with Blue Crab Pierogi, Truffle Butter, Toy Box Squash, and Meyer Lemon Emulsion

"Oh so glad I did. This was to die for! This so puts any fish I make at home to shame. Perfect sear and not overwhelmed with anything, they let the subtle flavor of the fish shine! The squash with lemon sauce were yummy. I didn't like the pierogi at all, too greasy, but I didn't care!"



"After all that amazingness I didn't want an overwhelming dessert so I went with the no sugar added option...a pear tart with lemon sherbet and fig compote. I didn't touch the compote but the rest was perfect for me. Not the most amazing dessert, but pleasantly light and summery."







"Charlie went with the cobbler, yay! I'm not a cobbler or pie fan but I really wanted to taste this! The crust was so buttery and warm and yummy with the berries and ice cream, as far as cobblers go this was pretty darn good! Charlie really liked it but he was just bursting by this point and couldn't come close to finishing it."





"Such a terrific meal, AP bumped out YSH to claim the #2 spot on our favorite signature list! [Flying Fish is still #1] Our server was super friendly but weirdly flighty and the meal was definitely stretched out because of that...nearly two hours! But well worth it!"

Glad to hear there are people out there following along today 'cause there is much, much more to come!

An interesting and nostalgic note, with the arrival today of our next reporter, Ginamarie, we now have 4 of our 5 inaugural live reporters at Disney World. Our first five reporters were Brenda (emmysmommy), Vicki (GoofySon'sMom), Tracy (Tracer00), Becky (BlovesC), and Ginamarie. These five great ladies helped me to launch this live thread by sending me pics during their trips to Disney World last August and September. Without them, there would be no "Live from Disney World" thread, so thank you ladies...you're the best!

First up this morning is Ginamarie's dinner update from last night.


But first, today is Ginamarie's birthday...

So she and her DH celebrated last night by having dinner at...

"Ahi tuna three ways - amazing!! The left is a spring roll, middle is with soba noodles and right has wasabi caviar."

"French baguette with Vermont creamery butter. Best butter I've ever had."



"Octopus salad..."



"Hubby loved it - served with garlic aioli, aged balsamic and paprika."





"Chicken salad with breast meat slices and dark meat underneath, served with caper berries."







"DH had the sea scallop atop cauliflower puree with a rich condensed meat sauce around the edge."



"He said it was easily the best sea scallop he ever had and that's saying something because he loves them."



"From the vegetarian menu, my potato gnocchi with chanterelle mushrooms and black truffles."



"I LOVED this and scooped out every morsel with my spoon."





"But there was more left, so I used my finger. OMG!"

"Brioche with lemon and chive - soft, subtle bread perfection."



"We both got the squab (young pigeon) with arugula and polenta ravioli, cherry sauce."



"Yum - I loved the leg with the crispy skin the best."

"V & A was absolutely amazing - one of the best meals of my life. I have to give best dish to the gnocchi with mushrooms and DH said it was a tie between the scallop and the lamb."​

Next we have this update from DonaldDoleWhip, which picks up after his last update from his Wednesday night dinner at Artist Point.



He said, "From Artist Point, I headed over to the Epcot area and caught a
gorgeous sunset."









"Then I walked over to Tangierine Cafe to grab some dinner for my mom. She really enjoyed the chicken shawarma platter."






"Later on, we were both slightly hungry, so I went back to the Mara and got us a chicken pita with couscous to split."






"The next day [Thursday], we moved over to Yacht Club. I grabbed my lunch from..."

"I chose the vegetarian quinoa wrap with roasted vegetables, hummus, and goat cheese. It was flavorful but extremely filling - I couldn't finish it!"

"The wrap is served in one piece, but I cut it in half to show the interior. It tastes better than it looks!"





"The wrap also came with apple slaw, which I didn't love because it was full of mayo."





"Dinner was at 'Ohana."

"Welcome Bread, and Salad with no dressing."

"For dessert, we asked if we could get a lighter option instead of bread pudding. At first, our server said no, but she soon returned with a bowl of pineapple and some of the bananas foster sauce! After a filling meal of endless shrimp, salad, and even some chicken, this was a perfect (and relatively light) finale."

Our last update from yesterday is a multi-snack update from Anne (scanne) from their evening at Magic Kingdom.


Their first snack stop last night was at...

Main Street Bakery


She said, "I love my Starbucks and Disney but still I am not 100% sure I like the change of the Main Street Bakery into essentially, a giant Starbucks. But alas, I still got one of my faves:"




"Grande nonfat iced white chocolate mocha with two pumps of syrup."



"The rest of the gang got a decaf nonfat caramel frappe with a Mickey whipped cream top!"





"And a double chocolate chip frappe..."





"And my DH had his first ever Starbucks - a Valencia orange cooler."



"The three troublemakers... Extra Magic Hour Madness!"


And on a side note, regarding the rainstorm they had last night...




Anne said, "Did you see this storm cell in the shape of a Mickey over the Magic Kingdom?"



Then later, this snack update...


"We got some pixie dust at Big Top Treats. Free Mickey cake pops!"

Then as previously warned, this last snack update came in just after midnight (1:00 a.m. Eastern) ...


"Late night ice cream stop on Main Street USA..."











"My DS, DD and I all had mint chocolate chip...just in various forms. I had a cone, DS had the cookie sandwich and DD just had hers in a cup. And it was nice and quiet as we watched people leaving at 1:00 a.m."



"Lovely."


"My husband and I are having lunch with an imagineer tomorrow [today] at the Hollywood Brown Derby! Can't wait!" ​

She said, "I get the cappuccino from the Nestle machine. I can fill the to-go cup with 2 presses of the button then I drizzle it with a little vanilla syrup...yum."​

Vicki said, "I was a bit nervous about this one but it ended up really good!"

"For my entree, I had the short ribs and smoked feta mashed potatoes."



"This was really great. Very tender and lean."

If you have read Vicki's (tentative) trip schedule listed on the first page of her Dining Report, you know that following this dinner she and Andrew were to meet up with some of our other live reporters (Brenda, Em, and DonaldDoleWhip) for an Illuminations cruise. Unfortunately due to last night's storm (which apparently included lightning), their cruise was cancelled. The meet ended up being held at the Yacht Club lounge and a good time was had by all.

Becky said, "Gaston's is our fave stop for free ice water. It's so dark and cool and never crowded no matter how much chaos is right outside!"


I responded, "Wait, no LeFou's Brew?!?!" (knowing how much Charlie loves it)


Becky answered, "I was shocked too. Charlie never goes here without leaving with one! I told him his breakfast meats would weigh him down all morning."

"Starbuuuucks! This place is huge. I know some aren't fans but seriously I think it's amazing that for two bucks you can get a good cup of coffee in MK."





"Plus their baked goods are cheaper and better than MSB offerings. IMO!"

"I got my fave...iced coffee with milk and Splenda. Half the price of the crappy Disney iced coffees and I could customize it. Win-win!" ​

"Penne a la vodka - delicious! Pasta is al dente perfect and the sauce is great."




"Meat flatbread with sausage and pepperoni. DH says it is really good and pepperoni slightly spicy."




"Penne with meatballs. Sister said she loved the meatballs, would order again."





"Chicken Parmigiana. This piece of chicken was huge, picture doesn't do it justice. Sister loved it, grandma liked it but thought it tastes a lot like garlic."





"Chicken Campanella Pasta. Mom loved this! She always orders it here and is never disappointed."





"Kids Fish - a nice white grilled fish. Brother liked this and finished his plate."​

Becky said, "Can you believe it was our first time here?!"


"We had a bit of a wait to get in and as we sat in the blazing sun I took pics of Charlie's tomato face. Oh Florida summers, I will not miss you when we move."





"Thankfully the restaurant was ice cold. So fun to people watch through the giant windows!"









"I chose the chicken breast sandwich, minus the ham..."



Grilled Chicken Breast topped with Swiss Cheese and served on a Flour-dusted Kaiser Roll


"I was happy they had honey mustard I could spread on it. The chicken was juicy and cooked perfectly. Their fries are craaazy good, I didn't expect to like them that much but they were so crispy and hot!"



"Charlie got the Club sandwich..."




Smoked Ham, Turkey, Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato, and Mayonnaise layered on Sourdough Bread

"He said that despite being slightly too big (even for his monster mouth )
it was tasty. He also thought the fries were delicious!"

Vicki said, "We started with soup and the fried zucchini."














"But they brought our entrees before we even made a dent in the soup so it was removed from the bill."




"Spaghetti with sausage for Andrew and the Panini of the Day, which was flank steak and onions."


"This was a decent meal. It doesn't compare foodwise to Via Napoli or Tutto Italia but I really enjoy the theming. I think you just have to go in expecting a decent but not great meal. I will say that our server was great. We have had awful service in the past so that was a nice surprise."​
