He said, "For dinner, I had made a reservation here since we were both missing it. My mom still wasn't feeling well, though, and I didn't want to cancel due to the credit card guarantee. As such, I headed to Wilderness Lodge alone."










"This was my first time eating at AP alone, and I was seated at a table that my mom and I have had before. My disposition wasn't great during this meal - I was wishing my mom could be there with me."

"The sourdough bread was warm and tasty...




...especially paired with the delicious fennel oil my server brought out. The oil had a licorice-like flavor that I really enjoyed. There was also butter with Hawaiian black sea salt."






"Due to the circumstances of the evening, I didn't feel like having a full meal. Instead, I just chose the main course that sounded most appetizing to me..."




Pan Roasted Alaskan Halibut with Blue Crab Pierogi, Truffle Butter, Toy Box Squash, and Meyer Lemon Emulsion


"I absolutely loved this. The halibut was perfectly cooked, and the pierogi was stuffed with tender crab pieces. Combined with the rich flavor of truffle butter and sweet Meyer lemon emulsion, this is a dish I could happily have again. I strongly believe my mom would have loved it."



"The squash on the plate was fresh, colorful, and nicely prepared."






"No dessert for me, although I did take a picture of the menu."








"Instead, I ended my meal with some Mountain Berry Tea. While it wasn't a bowl of berry cobbler, this was a pleasant way to end the meal."




"I wasn't in the greatest of spirits during this meal, but the food and service here still made me smile. With our Jiko experience being off earlier in the week, AP currently stands as my single favorite Disney restaurant (Jiko takes second for now). I just wish my mom could've enjoyed this meal with me." ​

DDW hope your mom gets to feeling better! I'm not sure how I feel about the GF villas, but from your pictures I do think it just sticks out, would have been nice if it blended in a bit more. I'm also not sure how I feel about the possible Poly DVC. Poly is my family and I's FAVORITE resort to stay at, with Tahiti being our favorite longhouse. Its a little farther from the great ceremonial house but we LOVE being able to walk to the TTC to get the monorails.

Our final update from yesterday was the first update we received from our reporters who arrived last night, Brenda and Emily (emmysmommy & Just Emmy).


For their first night they stayed at the (currently very popular on this thread) Wilderness Lodge and had their first dinner at the...






Brenda said, "For the first meal of our trip Em and I took a page from your last trip! We had appetizers and a cocktail at Territory Lounge. The lounge was a great way to start our dining experience."

"It is worth mentioning that they serve the full Artist Point menu in the lounge."


"We couldn't decide which apps to order since they all looked good so we split three."



"First the amazing sharp cheddar a la fondue..."





"This was our favorite of the three."



"It was served with sourdough, pretzel bread, apple slices, and figs."







"Next was the mushroom, blue cheese, and fig flatbread with arugula..."




"It was good but we were already getting full so we may have underrated it."




"And for our third app, the chicken lollipops or better described as Thai chili chicken tenders..."





"They were a bit too sweet and not enough spice but they were good."




"And finally, my first cocktail of the trip..."

"Sadly we were too full to order the fruit cobbler for dessert."


"This was a great first meal! And as an added note, they accept TIW.

Our First Update of the Day was sent to us this morning by Jeanette (JintyB).


She and her family were at the Grand Floridian resort last night...






and had dinner at...






She said, "I left my phone in the room yesterday so these are going to come in a strange order I'm afraid! Last night's dinner is below, but I still have the previous night plus breakfast and snacks from yesterday to send."






First some menu pics...









"DD struggled to find anything she particularly fancied on this menu and ended up ordering from the children's menu - sorry, no photo."




"Sourdough bread and butter with Hawaiian sea salt - had to restrain ourselves with this warm, fluffy filled ball of crunchy crust."







"DD had tomato soup - she liked this."






"DH had Crab cakes - sorry, didn't use flash These were so delicately flavoured. He had the wine pairing which was perfect."






"I had the Artisanal Cheeses..."




"From left to right: Harbison accompanied by candied pecans - gooey, creamy and left me wanting more. Then Point Reyes with fresh fig - smooth blue, my concerns it might over power anything that followed were completely unfounded. Next, Wyngaard with honeycomb. This was my favourite of the five. Then Cremont with grapes on the vine. This cheese was beautifully smooth and creamy, but the accompaniment was bland. Finally, Beecher's Truckle. It came with some kind of root vegetable chutney. Cheese was tasty, chutney was bitter."

"I also had the wine pairing. It did a great job of (a) tasting nice and (b) cleansing the palate for the next cheese."

"Oh, almost forgot. The crispbread had a cranberry flavour."



Now for their entrees...


"DD had Kids salmon with mashed potatoes and seasonal veg (plus some of my steak!)."






"DH had the Grilled Filet Mignon with a lobster tail..."






"I had the filet but due to my mushroom allergy had the accompaniments from the NY Strip steak (plus a lobster tail)."





"All of the entrees were fantastic. The bacon potato gratin was awesome."



"DD did however say that Nanny's mashed potato was better than Narcoossee's."



"We went outside for Wishes..."












"I was the only one who opted for dessert DH and DD went for coffee/ hot tea respectively."






"I chose the Coconut and chocolate Creme brûlée."


"It looked pretty, but I found the consistency too runny for the crisp caramelised sugar."



"We sat and watched a spectacular storm before getting a taxi back to WL."​

"All in all a solid meal. I remember the sampler having two pieces of chicken last year. With the shakes we were pleasantly full but not stuffed."​

Brenda said, "Our first mistake of the trip was going to Tortuga Tavern for some drinks only and being told we should try the "amazing" nachos. Apparently chicken nachos are the default since she didn't ask our choice. No meat would have been ok."

"The toppings bar only has salsa, diced tomato, shredded cheese, and banana peppers."

Gosh, so many of my fave dining reviewers are out in WDW right now
I am soooooooo jealous
Seems like AP is a little hit and miss at the moment. Sounds like the food is OK but the service is a little rushed. We hate to feel rushed and like to take our time over dinner. Having entrees deilvered whilst we are still working on our apps is a big no no to us
Aargh, I am missing Disney so bad at the moment - I need to get back out there and start a dining review

Wow, so many great updates that I missed the past few weeks. Just spent over an hour reading (and drooling) over all the fantastic food pics. It's so wonderful to see so many familiar faces to this thread and new ones having great fun eating in the world.

On another note, welcome back, Barb! Glad to read you had a great trip. Big thanks to Rachel for filling in for you. You did great job.

"Pictures didn't come out too great on my phone. Going to try using my daughter's iPhone tomorrow. Food was good and service was great at Le Cellier. Three of us had the cheese soup to start with and loved it."





"DH had pork tenderloin, DSS had venison, DD had cheese plate, and I had Caeser salad. We all shared the poutine. No dessert. Not all the pics came out unfortunately because of my phone."

"I am glad to say that Jiko appeared to be back on their A-game following Mr. DDW's disappointing dinner earlier in the week."



"We were started with an amuse bouche from Chef Jon, which was a risotto with faro and sunflower seeds and mascarpone. It was awesome!"





"Here are menu pics that show some changes from our last visit in February..."














"We didn't see any appetizers that were worthy of standing between us and our entrée so we passed."



"Since we had the bread basket, we were fine with having that fill some time and space before the main course."
