She said, "Monday night we went down to try..."





"There was a short 30 minute wait."

"This place really does fulfill what I imagine a 1960's diner looked like."






"Chase said he wasn't that hungry and I knew I wanted to save room for dessert so we decided to split a hot dog and get onion rings."





"Our hot dog arrived already split for us. I know it looks a little sad, but it really was delicious."




"Our server recommended we sub the fries for onion rings for a dollar more and order a side of fries for a bit of a savings."





"This is the side of fries. It was a huge portion."





"Brian got the burger with extra blue cheese..."




"He loved it."




"The kids and I got the No Way Jose Sundae..."



"This is chocolate, vanilla, and peanut butter heaven."




"Here's Chase making eyes at our ice cream..."







"And Brianna trying to get a bite..."







"Brian chose the Grilled Peanut Butter and Banana Bread..."




"He said he wished the bread would have been warmed."



"We had a great time at Beaches and Cream. We saw 7 Kitchen Sinks ordered while we were there! One table actually ordered 2 of them! I wish we would have stuck around to see if they finished them."

Checking in for August reporting

We (DH and DD-13) are staying at the Wilderness Lodge from 8-25th August and are then doing a four night cruise on the Disney Dream Our friends and their two children will also be with us, albeit arriving a day later, but we have planned a mixture of meals both with and without them. There is a video of the 7 of us when we were last at Disneyworld in my signature - two weeks summed up in a little over 3 minutes

We booked when free dining was on offer and upgraded to deluxe, so have lots of ADRs....we are also ALL booked into the Pirates League I am still torn between being turned into a pirate or a mermaid....

Hi Barb! Confirming I got your message and I'm on board for live reporting from 8/16 through 8/30.

We have nearly 40 ADRs for the 15 day trip so it is likely that some will fall off our schedule due to the sheer number. We'll see....

Some new place for us will include; Shula's, Sanaa, Tusker House, Rose & Crown, and San Angel Inn. (Monsieur Paul is a maybe, not sure about that one.) I'm also taking a chapter from one of your Dining Reviews and doing the afternoon tea at the Grand Floridian. That trifle looks delicious!

So that's our plan... 4 resorts, 39 ADRs and 15 days of fun.

I'm trying to finish up my current TR and Em swears she will finish her DR from Feb/March so we'll be all set to start all over.

Brenda, are you leaving on 8/30 ?? We are coming in that day and I would love a quick dismeet !!!

"I was glad to see that the butter was soft instead of the cold pats that won't spread."



"Brian chose the Cobb salad, no eggs..."



"This is the entree size. He said it was good as it always is."



"I chose the filet served over potatoes..."





"The steak was cooked perfectly, but the sauce and potatoes were so salty I couldn't eat them."



"Here's a picture of the french fries, eaten by Brianna..."






"This turned out to be the worst meal of our trip. Our server was absent most of the time. We had intended to order dessert, but just decided it wasn't worth the aggravation of continuing to wait. Luckily we have had many good experiences at HBD, so we won't judge it entirely by this visit."

I love reading this thread. We will be at Universal, Disney and Seaworld from August 17-24 but I don't have Internet access on my cell phone. I guess I will just do a trip/dining report when we are back. One question to the person who just ate at Narccoosees: do they still have the strawberry lemon tart? I loved it and we are going back there this trip. Actually, it's the only signature we are doing this time since we are going OOP.

It's so sad when the server ruins a meal. I have always had good service at the HBD, but we've had some really bad service in other Disney restaurants.

She said, "We decided we would take it back to our room to eat. They weren't prepared for this and had a hard time finding us a container."

"I should have listened to the reviews I had read here that this cupcake was just okay. I love red velvet cake but this wasn't anywhere near as good as my grandmother make."

Kim said, "Tuesday afternoon we ate an early lunch at..."




"We got there at about 10:40 and didn't have to wait at all to get in, then we waited about 5 mins in the castle before being able to order at the kiosks."

"Everyone had the braised pork except for my DH...."




"We have had it before, and all were just as good as last time, except mine was about equal parts fat and meat, so I had to pick around a bit. I was disappointed to see the steak sandwich removed from the menu, but knew about that before coming thanks to the DIS!"





"DH chose the tuna Niçoise salad, which he has also had before and loves..."




"In fact this is the damage he did to it while I was getting our fountain drinks and the food was delivered. Talk about inhale!"





"DH got a lemon raspberry cream puff and I got the strawberry cupcake..."




"I love this cupcake!! He enjoyed his cream puff, but I thought it was bleh.. Mom and aunt also got strawberry cupcakes and the cousins got chocolate cupcakes."

"The chicken was so good and really hit the spot."

"I have been pleasantly surprised by the quick serve offerings at HS lately. They really have improved."

"One tip about Backlot Express....the fountain drinks are self serve so free refills. Much appreciated on hot days."

She said, "I have to share this. My daughter loves Herbie the Love Bug. I had read that there is a Herbie section at All Star Movies. Since she wore her new Herbie shirt this day I decided to surprise her and go try to find him. Well, we took the bus from the Studios. We were joined by a large tour group. Couldn't even breathe the bus was so packed! The girls were sitting all over the bus floor. I cannot believe Disney allows this. So unsafe."











"She was so excited. There was a Herbie car that was formerly in one of the parades at the parks. Now she wants to stay here our next trip."





"After our trip to visit Herbie we went to DTD because we had an ADR at Portobellos for dinner that night but the rain was relentless. I just wanted to get back to Boardwalk so we went to Wolfgang Puck Express instead."






























"I had the spaghetti and meatballs..."




"This was wonderful. I asked for more sauce after I took the picture. The meatballs were huge and very tasty."





"My daughter had the pepperoni & mushroom pizza (hold the mushrooms)..."




"I stole a piece and it was perfect."





"I picked up a sugar cookie and a chocolate chip cookie for the room. We loved them. The sugar cookie was especially good!"
