Coming to you Live from Disney World!-Take 2 AUG/SEPT WINNERS ANNOUNCED

Next we received another update from Chavaleh & family from their lunch today at Magic Kingdom's...

She said, "Before I could grab my camera a horde of ravenous children attacked our cheese sticks. This lonely survivor was all that remained and he very quickly met his demise. Standard fried cheese."

"The wee pirate had his usual Mac& Cheese. I'm fairly sure that by the end of this week his blood will be replaced by vivid orange goo." ;)

"The eldest had the Freedom pasta minus tomatoes. She claims that it was a little overcooked but I did not verify."

Freedom Pasta - Fusilli Pasta with Sauteed Chicken, Seasonal Vegetables, and Mushrooms tossed in a Cream Sauce

"Thomas & Isadora both had burgers. Issy's was normal, Thomas's had mushrooms. They both enjoyed the fries."

"I had the Colony salad. I thought the flavors were well balanced ingredient wise but that the dressing had too much oil in it. Probably just an off day."

Colony Salad - Washington apples, sweet pecans and applewood smoked cheddar, dried cranberry Craisins, and grilled chicken tossed with field greens in honey shallot vinaigrette

"Finally we shared an Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake and it was very delicious. Issy nearly licked the plate."

"Because it took them a good while to get our meals out, the server brought us a fastpass ticket. We'll probably use it for Space Mountain tonight when we go back in for dinner."

The worst part about this thread: I am now starving at almost midnight and need to go to bed.

The new part about this thread: everything else!!

I've fallen so behind on my Dis board reading, but had to check in to catch up on this thread.

V&A is a must do one day. It always looks so amazing.

Becky and Charlie's sandwiches from Hurricane Hanna's look great! I remember being really excited about Hurricane Hanna's receiving a new menu, and their review has me more excited about eating there (the chicken sandwich and quinoa wrap are calling my name). :thumbsup2

From a quick service/snack standpoint, there's never been a better time to stay at the Epcot resorts. Hurricane Hanna's, Boardwalk Bakery, and the nearby Boulangerie in France have all received notable upgrades (with the French bakery even serving breakfast now), the the F&G Marketplaces are convenient from these resorts as well. Kudos to Disney for addressing one of the biggest complaints about the (otherwise wonderful) Epcot resort area! :)

DDW...You have to try V&A...it's right up your alley! It is pricey but an amazing experience.

Jill in CO
Agreed! It might not happen for a while (even if we take another trip soon), but reviews like yours have pushed V&A to the top of my long-term list. :goodvibes

Just a reminder that next up to the Disney Dining Plate are...

Oh the freedom pasta and ooeey gooey is one of my favorite meals at WDW!! I cant wait until sept! Its our first meal on our first park day!!!

Well, after all the days and days of reading this thread I have finally seen the cutest thing EVER...............that Pirate made DH and I smile so big!!!

Just a few more updates from last night to post this morning, starting with one from Becky (BlovesC).

She and Charlie had dinner last night at...

YACHTSMAN STEAKHOUSE

Yachtsman's Meat Cutting Room

Truffle Olive Martini

"Charlie liked the olives more than the drink itself."

"My Caesar salad. Freakin' huge!"

"Charlie got the Tomatoes and Fried Mozzarella curds, which OMG I could eat a bowl of."

"I chose the NY strip, which was fantastic! But that potato gratin was just meh."

"Charlie chose the Rib Eye. Two thumbs up, but he didn't think the marrow was all that great."

Then for their desserts...

"I chose the Peanut Butter Gianduja Cake! Wow, that salted caramel gelato was amaaaazing!"

"Charlie got boring old Creme Brulee and our server scolded me for mocking his taste. She said, "If it's not broke don't fix it!" ;) Service was incredible."

Next is the final update from StuffedwFluff, who's trip ended yesterday.

She said, "We ate tonight at...

Beaches & Cream

"I've been waiting to go here for ten years, ever since I first heard about it. We ordered the BBQ Angus Burger and the Reuben."

Bacon Angus Beef Burger with Smoked Bacon, Blue Cheese, Barbecue Sauce, Onion Rings, Lettuce and Tomato on a Fresh-baked bun

Beaches Rachel Sandwich - Griddled Pastrami on Marble Rye with Sauerkraut, Arugula, Swiss and Peppercorn-Russian Dressing

"The BBQ burger was good, it had a very grown up taste because of the bleu cheese. It was okay, just didn't hit the spot. The Reuben was amazing. So good."

And for dessert...

Fudge Mud Slide - A gooey chewy Brownie covered with Hot Fudge, Three Scoops of Vanilla Ice Cream, Oreo Cookies, topped with Whipped Cream and a Cherry

"We debated on the ice creams and decided on the Mudslide. (Robert won the rock, paper, scissors game. ;) ) It was great, but I think I would have wanted some peanut butter in there."

And that's all from StuffedwFluff...

What an adorable little pirate.....

I can't wait to get to LTT for that Colony Salad. I'm not a salad person, but I dream of that!

And since we have received StuffedwFluff's final update, it's now time to say...

Thanks so much for being a Live Reporter... Great Job!!! :thanks:

One more update from last night, this one from Chavaleh.

She and her family had dinner last night at Magic Kingdom's...

Excellent Job with the Gargoyle Face! :thumbsup2

First, how 'bout a roll? ...

Then, Jack had the Kid's Steak...

"Isadora and Thomas both had the steak also. Issy had hers cooked to death (2nd death?)."

"I had the shrimp and scallop dish and thought it was a bit bland but both the shrimp and the scallops were cooked perfectly. Rhiannon wasn't feeling well and didn't eat."

Looks like they got their dessert to go...

And Issy and Jack got their picture taken with the host...

"We had the last seating so the park was quiet and emptying out when we left. It was nice. The staff at BoG seemed particularly nice."

While I am still liking the look of BOG and really, really want to eat there, having just read today about the upcoming menu changes and price increases, I have to say that I'm really not sure I will be that heartbroken if we can't get an ADR. $32.99 for the steak - we don't pay that here in the UK :sad2:

The steak price was already up to $32 last night. The lighting was having issues so all the rooms had full lights up (including the west wing) which kind of messed up the mood, imo. We have an adr for our anniversary trip in August that I'm not sure I'm going to keep. It'll be oop with the TiW card and I don't know that I feel the need to go there again.

Barb, how does the live reporting work? I would love to do some live reporting for June 29th-July 5th but I won't have a computer with me. Do people email pictures to you via smart phones? I might have a tablet with me. Thanks!

Hi! I have always texted my pics to Barb and she takes it from there! I have an iPhone but I am sure any smartphone would work.

Yes that's right! :thumbsup2 I think most of the reporters just take pictures with their smart phones and then either send them to me by text (or iMessage if you also have an iPhone) or email. There are a few who prefer to use their regular camera but that requires that you first download your pics to another device before emailing them to me. Either method of sending your updates is fine with me. Just let me know if you are interested. :)

Our First Update of the Day is sadly the last update for this trip from Becky (BlovesC).

She said, "Well today our plan was to have breakfast at the Boardwalk Bakery, then swim, then hit Sanaa for lunch on the way home. Unfortunately we are both so badly sunburned we decided to skip all these plans, hit Captain's Grille for breakfast and then go home!"
