Hi everyone!
Just wanted to check in and say I'm looking forward to our trip to the World Sept 25-30. It will be our 1st MNSSHP.

This trip has turned into a Celebration of sorts.
I thought I was going to have to cancel our trip.
My DS 18, was in a bad accident Aug 13 & had to be life flighted to the hospital. He is on the mend and the DR. gave the ok for the trip.

Glad to be able to do live updates again, thank you Barb.
Excited I got a ressie at the California Grill. Can't wait to see the refurbishment and try out the new menu items.

Hi Michelle! So sorry to hear about your son's accident...and how scary for you. Glad to hear that he is on the mend though and that your trip to WDW together is still on. I'm looking forward to having you as a live reporter again. Talk to you in a couple of weeks!

Excited I got a ressie at the California Grill. Can't wait to see the refurbishment and try out the new menu items.

This reminded me that today is the day that California Grill reopens!!! I wonder who will be the first to send us a live update? In that regard, a reminder that all September updates from CA Grill (as long as they include at least one entree pic) are worth a minimum of 10 points...more if you send menu pics, restaurant pics, new sign, window views, etc. The bonus point possibilities are great here!!


As some of you may know, CA Grill has been my personal favorite Disney World restaurant in the past, so I'm very anxious to receive some live reports from the new (and hopefully even better) restaurant. Therefore, as an added bonus to the reporter who sends the very first live update from CA Grill, I'll be doubling your points! So if for instance, your update is worth 15 points (including your bonus points) then you will receive 30 September Game Points!

So I have good news and bad news for you this morning.

Let's start with the bad...sadly, we didn't receive any more updates last night so the 4 that I posted yesterday were all that we got.


But the good news is that things are looking up today because we have already received 7 updates from four of our reporters this morning!


So let's get started on those, beginning with our First Update of the Day from Paul (GrandCalifornian) and family.



"Sunday's dinner was our first trip to..."













"First was yummy coconut pineapple bread."






"Even the salad (with passionfruit vinaigrette) was exceptional."








"The chicken wings and dumplings were great too."








"Followed by great sweet noodles (Allie's favorite)."







"Chicken was our first skewered meat, and it was super flavorful. They said it was marinated for three days."






"It was followed by Pork that was nice and juicy."








"And then the amazing steak and shrimp."






"Allie got to Hula, which she enjoyed."








"Then dessert came. We got the superb bread pudding...






... and a birthday cupcake for Allie."






"Now we understand what everyone has been raving about. I think we have another "must visit" restaurant!" ​

I'm so sorry to hear about your son's accident. I wish him a speedy recovery!

Can't wait to hear about your CA Grill experience. We booked a reservation in January and I'm super excited!

"We shared a plate of Strawberry Mickey waffles and a snack of mixed fruit."







"Allie hasn't even got out of bed yet."






Ahhh...what could be better than being fed Mickey waffles in bed while on vacation at Disney World?!?! You are one very lucky girl, Allie!
(And a very pretty one, too...your BBB hairdo held up very nicely after being slept on. I'm quite impressed!)​

Nope, they're from an iPhone. Just kidding, my wife Melissa is greatly enjoying her new Canon 6D. It has built in WiFi so transferring the pics to the phone is super easy. Some of the pics are from our iPhones though, and you can tell which are which.

He said, "We spent Saturday at Hollywood Studios and after some rides we enjoyed some snacks from..."

"We were chosen to help "open" the restaurant and were treated as the Celebrities of the Day."

"Everything about this meal was perfection. We really enjoy the food here and the service was excellent. As celebrities of the day they gave us a Fastpass to be used in the attraction of our choice."





"We then asked if it was possible to use with Fantasmic and they said no, but the server gave us another pass for Fantasmic (the one that they give with the Fantasmic Dinner Package)"

"This was really good also. Because at this time they were closing the kitchen the Manager kindly asked us to cut our steaks to verify that they were cooked to our liking. We did it and immediately began to eat....that's why there is no picture of the meal as presented to us."









"For dessert I ordered the Trio of Concession Sweets, it was good but nothing special."

She said, "Sorry last update is late. Had a long drive home. Our last meal was at Magic Kingdom's..."

"Oh...got the chips instead of fries. BAD MOVE ON MY PART!!! They were stale and flavorless."



"We left with 2 QS credits remaining, but couldn't squeeze anymore meals into our tummies. We did get a few snacks though..."




"Popcorn in a Dumbo souvenir bucket."






"Roasted cinnamon almonds."






"And a last Dole Whip float (not pictured) and a new discovery..."

And just because anniebean and her DBF, Geoff, were such a fun couple to have as live reporters this last week, I couldn't have their last photo be a sad one.
