Next in yesterday was another great dinner update, this one from anniebean.

She and Geoff headed to the Grand Floridian last night to have dinner at...

"The waiter brought out a "chef sampling" of duck. Geoff ate both. (I didn't have the heart to tell him I was a vegetarian.)"

Yay! I love seeing reports from other vegetarians. Hope your tummy is feeling better.

Wow! 467 points??!! Is that a record?

Yes, our previous record holder was SwirlyGirly, who scored 344 points in July. I didn't think it was possible, but Jeanette "outswirled" SwirlyGirly by more than 100 points!!! She is now our reigning queen. :worship:

Now for our updates from yesterday, which sadly there were only four. :worried: Three of them were sent to us by our great reporter, anniebean, including this First Update of the Day.

She said, "We had breakfast today at..."

"Before breakfast pic..."

"Welcome bread."

"My diet Pepsi I snuck in." ;)

"And the Big Cheese himself..."

"All was yummy, especially the eggs!!! In monorail on way to Epcot now." :)

As usual, there's so much to catch up on here! Just skimmed the last 10 pages.

-I loved seeing the pics from bluezoo, which is now one of my favorite WDW locations. Wish we'd known about the Swolphin rewards program earlier - what a great tip! Unfortunately, we probably won't get to utilize it on our next trip anyway.

-The updates from L'Artisan des Glaces always make me smile. I love that place so much - it can't be healthy (from a literal or figurative standpoint). :rotfl: And it's exciting to see the piña colada ice cream martini make another appearance - it was amazing!

Next: I can confirm both of the following. :goodvibes
Note from jabead: David didn't give an exact location of this kiosk, but I think it might be Mr. Kamal's, the place that used to serve boneless wings. Can anyone confirm?
Note from jabead: I think this might be from Trilo-Bites in Dinoland??? (can anyone confirm?)
Those were two things I noticed on our last Animal Kingdom day. I wasn't certain about the new vegetarian kiosk, but Disney Food Blog confirms that it replaced the nugget location. Definitely a step up, IMO (since nuggets are everywhere, but unique vegetarian choices are hard to find).

One more thing - I'd like to sign up for live reporting from October 10th to 13th. :) This'll be our first Food & Wine visit in 11 years, and although we aren't planning on doing any of the special events, we're looking forward to trying items from several of the booths. Another thing - the only restaurant that's a must-do on this trip is California Grill! After being underwhelmed there several times before it closed, we're looking forward to seeing the changes. :thumbsup2

And it was at Epcot that anniebean had lunch yesterday, at Germany's...

"I had the wine flight."

"Geoff had beer flight."

"Our plates."

"Out of all, my absolute favorite was asparagus soup...go figure!!!"

"Hope to all things holy it's truly vegetarian or I"ll be sick as a dog shortly, but it was sooo gooood!!!"

anniebean also included this Epcot snack update from America's...

Fife & Drum

Wow! That is an epic score Jeannette! I don't think anyone can touch that. Well, not unless they live there! :)

And now Mr. DDW is going to F&W. I see how it is. Not gonna bite for December but F&W has you drooling. Figures!! :rotfl2: Honestly, I hope you enjoy it since this will be a F&W trip where you can enjoy the Food AND the wine!!! :thumbsup2

If not for final exams and projects, I'd be pushing for early December as well. :rotfl:

And agreed, it's so exciting to return to F&W after all these years! Last time (in 2002), I only tried one item - something from the South Africa booth. That number definitely needs to increase. :thumbsup2

Sad you won't be able to join us in December but glad to hear that you will be reporting on the F & W Festival for us. This will be the second year in a row that I won't be able to attend, so I'm counting on all our live reporters to help me feel like I'm there. ;)

emmebear: Glad to see the CRT Breakfast report. I have a pre-park open ADR on the 2nd day of out trip. Can you give us any advice? Our ADR is at 8:15. How early would you get to MK gate? Also do you have any ideas why the meal felt rushed? Thanks for any input. :thumbsup2

Get there earlier than you think to take advantage of the early entry. We were very early but got stuck waiting for a monorail being inspected at the transportation center. No one checked our ressie time when we finally got in the park. Breakfast was terrible (avoid the filet) but we epected that but we ended up missing out on the pictures before everyone hit the part because of a 30 minute monorail delay which is why we booked.

Next we received our first update from a new reporter who arrived yesterday, Paul (GrandCalifornian).

He said, "Our first meal of the trip was at Wilderness Lodge's..."

"I had the bacon cheeseburger with French fries."

"And Melissa had the Roast Beef and Blue sandwich with cucumber salad."

"And Allie had the Chicken Nuggets kids meal."

"For dessert we had a s'mores cupcake."

"And a great chocolate brownie."

"And Allie picked out a sugar cookie with lots of sprinkles."

"I think we are all glad to be here."

Melissa & Allie

"We really enjoy Roaring Fork, and it is out favorite resort QS location. We are fortunate enough to get to come when it isn't crowded."

She and Geoff had dinner last night at the Polynesian's...

"Here is naughty Stitch with one..."

and two...

...and 10 minutes later." ;)

"I wasn't very hungry so I just ordered fries."

"Geoff had the lava roll."

"For dessert, I had the banana chocolate creme brulee."

"Geoff had the cheesecake."

"Mine was ok, didn't try Geoff's but he ate all of his and the rest of mine."

"The view from our seats."

"And last, Here's a pic we sent my dad on way to Kona. We've been bombarding him with selfies just to hear him fuss."
