Now we have a lunch update from a new reporter who arrived at Disney World today, Kerri (wdwpirates).


She and her DH were at DHS today and had their first Disney meal at...

Kerri said, "Rainy first day here in The World. We made it through and had a great day at DHS."

"Anyhow...here's my Angus cheeseburger topped with 3 Panko fried shrimp. This was very good! You can taste the difference in the upgraded Angus burger. Not dry at all. The shrimp were very tasty. Lightly breaded with Panko crumbs...not dry or overlooked. The fries were just so-so. As DH put it...they were limp. LOL!"

"DH's Angus cheeseburger. Same as the other...sans shrimp. DH enjoyed his burger very much and also commented how you could really taste the difference from the regular Disney burger."

"Chocolate Mousse....DH and I split this. It was nice and chocolatey! But not heavy. It sort of has the flavor of old fashioned chocolate pudding. Quite nice."



"We normally would have gone for Starring Rolls on our first day at DHS but it was so rainy and wet we just wanted to be somewhere dry. I was pleasantly surprised with ABC. It was very clean and cast members were friendly and continuously cleaning tables. Good quality, was adequate for a CS. Burgers were quite good. Fries needed work on their soggy / limp issue."





And then later for a snack they had...

"Mickey bars...What more can one say....simply divine! LOL!"

Thank you!! Those WERE from a nice camera (Canon DSLR), but we've had an SD card malfunction (it had wireless transmission!!), so all future pics will be iPhone!! So bummed, but oh well.

Due to Kathy's technical difficulties, her updates from today (taken with their camera) will not be posted until she returns home. But she was able to send us this snack update from Magic Kingdom's...

Brenda's Plate: Peanut butter and jelly with a roll, apples, olives, cheese, and brie and raspberry en croute.
Paired with a glass of Merlot.

Emily's Plate: Same as Brenda's except also multigrain bread and crab ragoon. And paired with apple juice.​

"My little DDs split 2 meals - one got the kids platter with eggs, bacon, and potatoes and the other got the Mickey waffles with bacon."

"My mom got the spinach frittata. She said it was real good."

"My oldest DD and I split the Mickey waffle and sausage and also the ham and eggs wrap.
The waffle was way overcooked. We didn't eat it."

Then they were off to Epcot, where they stopped at...



Club Cool

She said, "Of course I did the Beverly trick to my mom."

"She didn't like it."

Nobody believes me when I say Beverly is my favourite! It really is, and if you have an upset tummy it works wonders. If you enjoy Campari you will more than likely like Beverly. Meanwhile DH is happy that Mezzo Mix will be back on Wednesday!

Fabulous reporting as usual everyone! I love the CL reports from YC and hope Brenda & Emily send some more pics of the Suite! I shared the good news over on the Yacht & Beach Club resort FAQ thread and everyone was so happy for them!

Looking forward to the Raglan Road report! I went to see The Chieftains last night with my dad. They are a famous Irish music group and everything they played reminded me of my great meal at RR. They even brought out dancers!

Chicken Strawberry Salad (no chicken) - fresh garden greens, fresh strawberries, gorgonzola cheese, tossed in a white zinfandel vinaigrette dressing


"I had the chicken strawberry salad with no chicken."

"DH started with a salad. He also had the Reuben but I had to take a little one to the bathroom and the sandwich was gone before I got back. Guess it was good."

"The boys had grilled cheese sandwiches (no pic) and Mickeylodeons for dessert."

"Very tasty!"

"And DH had Strawberry Cheesecake."

There's much better places to eat!"

"My mom and I had a margarita in honor of my Gram...it was a weekly thing we did a mother/daughter lunch and a margarita."

"I didn't really care for any of these desserts. My mom loved the strawberry shortcake though. There was a flan with berries, some kind of chocolate with cherry in the middle, cheesecake, and a cake with chocolate frosting."

Emily said, "This is served with a Guinness and brown sugar dipping sauce. It had a touch of olive oil and was very sweet."

We received a dinner update last night from Kerri (wdwpirates).


She and her DH were at DHS and had dinner at...



Mama Melrose's



First a menu pic...

"I had a Sangria....delicious!"

"Rolls with dipping oil were complimentary. They were hot and fresh. I thought the oil could have used more garlic. But it was tasty just the same."

Crispy Calamari for Two - topped with grilled peppers and onions, served with dipping sauces



"Our app was the calamari! They do a great job with it here. Nice and crispy. Not greasy. Great flavor to the batter...and it's a lovely light batter at that. I like the tentacles and we didn't get very many. But I forgave them. The dipping sauces include spicy marinara, basil, and orange. The orange is awesome and is my fave. A nice sweet contrast to the savory calamari."

Charred Strip Steak with five-cheese baked macaroni, aged balsamic-shallot butter, and Chianti Wine Reduction

Carne D'Italia Flatbread with Pepperoni, Italian Sausage, Pancetta, and Spicy Marinara Sauce

"For our mains we split the Charred strip steak and the Carne d'Italia flatbread. The steak was the winner here! Great wine reduction and awesome mac and cheese with it. I would have liked a little less ricotta in the Mac but it was still very good....especially when dipped in the reduction. The flatbread was very tasty. Be warned they use the spicy marinara as the base but it has a fab flavor! The sausage, pepperoni and pancetta are all fantastic. The cheese could have been melted a bit more but overall it was YUM! We would order both again."

"We split the Chocolate Amarettini Cheesecake for dessert. This cheesecake is amazing! The chocolate on top is heaven.
I could eat a bowl of it. The Amarettini cookies and the little chocolate curlicues are fab!!" ​

Sorry folks, but it's again...

RECRUITMENT TIME!!!

As you may have noticed, the live thread is again very active. With today's arrivals, we will have 7 active reporters at Disney World and by this weekend we should have 9. So the next couple of weeks look to be a time of feast, but unfortunately the middle two weeks of March will be a time of famine for the live thread unless we have some more volunteers. Beginning on March 11th and through the 21st, we have only one volunteer for most of those 10 days. In fact, due to a previous volunteer having to postpone their trip, we have absolutely no one to do live reports on the 18th and 19th. So anyone that is planning a mid-March trip, please consider doing some live updates. Also, any of you who are active on other forums of the DIS, please feel free to promote this thread and encourage people to check it out. Perhaps with some new followers, we will find some new volunteers.

Thanks everyone for your help and be sure to check back tonight for many more great updates from our current live from Disney World reporting team.

She and her family were at the Polynesian Resort this morning and had breakfast at...

Breakfast breads

Front platter: Scrambled eggs, fried potatoes, and biscuits
Served on separate platter (superchime is vegetarian): pork breakfast sausage links and smoked bacon


She said, "So they were nice enough to put the meat on a separate tray so it wouldn't be touching my food.

The chef also brought out a bowl of stir fry veggies for me." (pictured below)

"Mickey waffles! These were great!"

"Stitch loved DS's little Stitch."

There are a couple of options for sending your updates (pics) to me. If you plan to take pictures with your phone, you can either text them to me (or send by iMessage, since I see you also have an IPhone) from your phone or email them to me. I just need at least a short description of what the picture is and where it's from. But I also welcome your comments and/or more detailed descriptions too, if you choose to include them. If instead, you plan to take pictures with a regular camera and are able to download them to a laptop, IPad, etc. and then email them to me while you are at Disney World, then that would also work fine for me.

So if you think either of these methods might work for you, then I would love to have you join the March team of live reporters.

"I love red velvet. So with a promise from Steve that I could have some of his Tonga toast, here are our meals."

"The pancakes were like eating a giant cupcake. No complaints, but I only ate half.

I believe it's a seasonal thing, with other flavors of pancakes featured throughout the year. In the fall, they have pumpkin and around the holidays I think I've seen gingerbread.
