HBM said, "These are cake pops from Storybook Circus Big Top Souvenirs. The Mickey one is red velvet and the pink is vanilla. These were so moist and tasty. Not too sweet."




Then a Holiday-themed update...

HBM said, "The popcorn was buttery and delicious!"




Then they visited the new Fantasyland area, including Gaston's Tavern, where they tried this...

HBM said, "This is my brother enjoying a pint of LeFou's Brew. This was tasty...very sweet though. It's like frozen apple juice."

Note from jabead: The last two updates from Gaston's have included a pic of someone enjoying LeFou's Brew. This gave me the idea to add this to the Scavenger Hunt list. So any update from Gaston's will receive a bonus point if it includes the reporter or another member of their travel party enjoying a LeFou's Brew.

And speaking of the Scavenger Hunt List, I've added many potential points to the list in order to replace the Food & Wine Festival points.

HBM said, "The turkey was very tender! The waiter gave us a huge saucer of gravy to pour on top. Delicious!"

Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake - Vanilla cake with a gooey toffee filling, caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream


HBM said, "We ordered this based on Disboards reviews. My mom said it's to die for, and all Dad could say was "oh man!" ​

She and her family have arrived at Disney World and had their first meal at...

Boardwalk Pizza Window

HBM said, "I got a pic of the cute box just before the pepperoni pizza was pilfered.
It was gone before I got a chance to snap another pic. Good pizza - thick dough, but still good."


Note from jabead: I remembered that I had gotten a pepperoni (& sausage) pizza from the Boardwalk Pizza Window on my last trip, so I'm going to add the pic here so you can see what their pizza probably looked like. As you can see, I too had a problem getting a pic before a couple of slices went missing.

Tonga Toast - Banana-stuffed sourdough bread, rolled in cinnamon sugar with sausage



NB02 said, "My hubby had this and love it. He literally cleaned the plate. Sorry, we don't have any other pics.
The table next to us was giving weird looks."

NB02 said, "This was neat. The bottle like has a marble in it, and you pop the marble into the soda to carbonate it.
This was the citrus flavor. Tasted like a very mild Sprite. Very fun!"

NB02 said, "This was my hubby's and he enjoyed it. It was light and very fresh."





And for their entrees, they chose...

Gratin de macaroni - Baked macaroni with cream and gruyere cheese


NB02 said, "This was very rich, and I could only eat about half of it."

Filet de boeuf grille, sauce au poivre noir Gratin Dauphinois et haricots verts
Grilled tenderloin of beef with black peppercorn sauce, original potato gratin of Savoy and green beans


NB02 said, "This was DH's and he said the steak was pretty good, and he loved the potato gratin. It's pretty hard to impress him with a steak....we're from Texas!"

Thanks so much to all of you who have volunteered your services during your upcoming trips. Because of you, we should have a steady stream of fresh Disney food porn to drool over from now until Christmas.

But here are the dates which we could still use some additional live reporters:


December 21 - December 27 - 1 more reporter needed

December 28 - January 1 - We have no one yet for these dates

January 2 - January 10 - 2 or 3 more reporters needed

January 21 - January 31 - 2 or 3 more reporters needed


So if your trip to Disney World falls during any of these dates, please consider doing live updates for us either by text or email. Also, if you're going sometime between now and the end of January but not during the above listed dates, please still check with me if you would like to be a live reporter. I might still be able to squeeze you into the schedule depending on your dates.

French Onion Soup


emmebear said, "This was pretty bland and disappointing. No flavor."


She added, "They should be ashamed of that French onion soup. It was pretty lackluster. The melted cheese was the only good thing about it."

emmebear said, "This thing was huge! Turkey was very moist and delicious. I loved the crunch of the greens and onions. I could only eat half. Emme ate the turkey only off the other half. Thumbs up!"

emmebear said, "This was really good. Emme ate most of it."


emmebear's other comment regarding this meal, "You can't customize anything or get a side of something. Emme wanted mashed potatoes but I could not order a side of it."

Earl of Sandwich

All American - roast turkey, buttermilk ranch, cranberries, cheddar cheese, lettuce, and roma tomato


HBM said, "This warm warm and the bread was soft. The cranberries really went well with the turkey and cheddar."

The Earl's Club - roast turkey, smoked bacon, Swiss cheese, lettuce and roma tomato and sandwich sauce


HBM said, "My mom had this and enjoyed it."

The Full Montagu - roast beef and turkey with sharp cheddar ceese and aged Swiss cheese, romaine lettuce, roma tomato and Earl's mustard sauce
& Bowl of Broccoli Cheddar Soup


HBM said, "My uncle really loved this."




Then for dessert, they went to Goofy's Candy Co. to make their own Gingerbread treats.

The "locator" for BOG lunch is quite interesting - what a great way to match the lunch to the guest.

I'm excited if Beaches & Cream went back to angelfood cake instead of the other type of sponge cake for the strawberry shortcake! (I just peeked at the menu and it looks like indeed it was changed back to angelfood cake. )

Oops, I think you're right Brenda about the change in the Strawberry Shortcake. I took the shortcut and copied the description from an online menu that I thought looked up to date. But instead I should have gone one page back or so to Roma's update, which included menu pics. I should have learned my lesson by now not to trust the online menus.

Anyway, that is why I love it when the reporters include those menu pics! Keep them coming folks!

Grilled Steak Sandwich with garlic butter spread and Pommes Frites


Cyndi said, "Both DH and DS14 ordered this and they said the same thing...you could easily split those sandwiches."
