I would say it's probably because they are destroying Mickeys Toontown and that is where you cold meed Mickey and Minnie. I always loved going there and my children aren't little anymore. I also wonder if Minnie is included. Maybe they are doing the fastpass because the lines were very long and many kids were disappointed when they couldn't meed Mickey and Minnie.

I'd use the fastpass!

Sure beats standing in line for over an hour over at Epcot to meet the characters, only to be hurried thru the line.
