I just got back from a week a VWL. I made a point to ask every DVC sales desk what they knew about the next properties that would come up for sale. I consistently got the same answer, the Contemporary. I will admit that a few gave me the old “I don't know??" with a smirk on their face. Some where even specific about the wing that was going to be torn down. A few told me the Animal Kingdom Lodge was being discussed but that did not come up more than twice. So you think it is true or a conspiracy among the sales group??

It's still speculation until they announce it, but I heard the same thing two years ago from a Contemporary Resort CM who seemed pretty much in the know. I didn't even ask for the information, he offered it to me. This was during Member Homecoming and after that encounter I asked as many DVC CMs working that event if they knew anything and none would confirm it. I put as big a plug for the Contemporary as possible but seeing as they announced phase 3 of SSR at that event knew it would be a long time for Villas at Contemporary to be built.

So someone at DVC knows what will be next. Whether the sales people are "in the know" is anyone's guess.

I heard that's where the construction trailers for the CRV will be located, not the actual resort itself.

If they are just refurbishing the rooms why are they taking the walls out, doors, etc?
We just got back from WDW and saw alot of construction going on at the CR when we were on the monorail and when DH was on a boat in the lake near the CR. DH is a contractor and he told me that he saw pieces of debri like walls, doors and more. This was where the wings are, not the main bldg and I'm not sure which wing, I'm not that familiar with the CR. I thought they were just changing the decor, not doing major construction. I got really excited when DH told me what he saw because I thought right away of DVC! I really hope it's true. With small kids the proximity to MK and the monorail are huge attractions to us even though we don't like the outside look of the place. We do like how the rooms look inside and would love a DVC that looked like that!

Our family would love to stay at a CR DVC! DH loves the CR, although I personally am not overly fond of the theme. I would get over that quick in order to stay at a DVC property on the monorail!

I believe the wing that is currently undergoing renovation is the North Garden Wing. Of the 2 wings, this one has the nicer views and is closer to the walkway to the MK.

Ya know, CMs often get treated badly by guests and they have little power to retaliate. I'm cynical enough to think that they compare notes in "the back room" about how many fell for the VCR last shift....

It doesn't seem unlikely, but I doubt the CMs know any more than we do at the rank and file level - and I suspect our rumors and theirs feed off each other. We know a lot of them read these boards, and then tell us what they read, and we repeat it as "the CM knows" and then they read it here and.......

We'll be conducting a recon. mission in Oct...CR was sold out for nights we needed late June.

We requested a room in North building, rehab is on-going @ tower. Wonder why they're waiting for the North one? See any good bill-boards lately?

As a rule DIS members will know things before the average DVC CM or guide does. While I never felt like CR DVC would happen, my sources tell me it's a go. So we shall see.

We were there last month. Tower and South are still being renovated. They are doing it in phases. North had not been touched.

From what I am understanding, a brand new DVC is going up in the STOL area. I agree with Lou Mongello on this. I think they want the first MK area resort to be much larger then they can make a wing of CR.

All of my info says it is the STOL and new construction

When we stayed at SSR in April I stopped in at the DVC preview cnter to visit with my guide. I asked her about the CR DVC rumor. She put both hands over her mouth so as to keep her mouth shut....which led me to believe she knows something. She says she gets calls all the time from members wanting to be on a waiting list to purchase points for CR but there is no list.

STOL? I know it's a landing strip but what does that stand for? Short Takeoff and Landing?
