Coming Back After More Than A Year

Hi.

I was a WISH member after my first child was born, then I got pregnant again and stopped visiting these boards. Here's a little background on me. I'm 30 years old and my son is 2 and a half and my daughter is 8 months. I am about 50 pounds or more overweight, and at 4'11" I really feel sluggish and BIG and I know I don't look that good. :( This is really starting to affect me more than health wise. I'm grumpy, moody and I tend to turn to food for comfort. So I feel like I'm in a losing battle. I was on Weight Watchers for a while after my daughter was born and lost about 10 pounds, but I'm still nursing her 3-5 times a day and I really think that's what is keeping the weight on. I don't have time to exercise right now because I'm up at 5am, at work by 7:30, home by 4:30, making dinner and getting the kids ready for bed, and by 9pm I'm done. I will, however, have time to exercise after April 15th. So, in that respect, I see the light. I know I need to exercise, and I WANT to, but finding the time is really hard!

We are also in the process of moving and that's making it hard for me, too, because my house is just a maze of boxes with little to nothing in my fridge. Next Thursday we will be in our new house so I'm hoping to be able to have more order in my kitchen to cook healthy meals.

I also feel like I'm in a rut recipe wise and I need some new and exciting ideas for low-fat meals.

We're going to WDW July 25th to August 3rd. We're celebrating five things! My 5 year anniversary with DH, my son's 3rd birthday, my daughter's 1st birthday, my 31st birthday and my grandmother's 83rd birthday! DH and I are going to V&A's one night and I want to be able to get a pretty little sundress for the occasion. So I do have inspiration, but getting motivated to start is proving to be the real challenge!

I feel that I need help and support so, again I turn to my fellow DISers and ask to be part of the WISH family. I need suggestions...advice....hints...recipes....whatever you can share that will help me get healthy!

Welcome back! You've got a lot on your plate right now. You can heap on more worrying about what you're eating right now, but I would focus on new house, new habits. Give yourself a week to psyche yourself up for the changes. Discover your new neighborhood by walking; christen your new kitchen with some fresh spices and new recipes. But don't forget to get your computer hooked up asap so you can check back in with us and get back on track!

So glad that you have come back. There is so much going on here lately it is so inspiring. Take a look at the recipe section, you might get some good ideas from there. I do agree that exercise is so important and we just have to make the time to do it.

You have done one of the big steps and that is by coming back. Keep posting and reading and I'm sure you'll get the motivation and inspiration that you need. Welcome back!

I took my first step in getting back on track. I joined Jenny Craig for 6 weeks. I figured if I can have someone do the meal-planning and calorie-counting for me, why not? The next 6 weeks are going to be so hectic for me at work, let alone moving and having to adjust with two little kids, etc., I thought that JC was a great way to get a jump start. My food will arrive at my new house on Friday and I have a phone consult on Friday at 6:30pm. I'm hoping to mayble lose 15-20lbs. in these first 6 weeks...then I'm nearly 1/2 way there.

Thanks for the advice. I will be visiting a lot now!
