I'm not sure this is where this needs to be but can anyone reccommend a good sandal to wear in WDW. I know there will be lots of walking but my feet get so hot in tennis shoes.

Thanks!

I'm opting for sneakers with good wicking socks.... i'd hate to end up with blisters after a day or two...

I Love Shoes

My personal current fav is Teva Ventura 2, on sale at amazon right now for 46.90 free shipping. They look nice enough to wear with a casual summer dress or shorts and capris, super comfy have worn them for 3 WDW trips as well as other places with lots of walking. I generally pack lots of shoes if I have space and end up wearing these and one other pair that is no longer made.

If you want a flip, DD11 loves Teva Mush lots of colors very squishy. I don't know of any great prices on these. Expect to pay 25ish. Rocket Dog Sunsets are comfy but I have never worn them for a full walking day before.

If you want more of a closed toe shoe Keen Venice H2 or Newport H2 are great, you can prolly find a deal on these if you have time. Regular price is 90ish, I've gotten them as low as 40.

Teva also has a closed toe shoe the Toachi, these have drainage holes in bottom, it bothers some people, doesn't bother me or DD.

Have fun shopping.

ETA You wouldn't catch me in teenies at WDW, they will not dry out if they get wet and they will get wet so you will be stuck with soggy shoes, I hate that.

Thanks! I'll have to check those out!

I had a feeling that TEVAs would be the best brand to try.

I think I've read every shoe thread here on the DIS and spent WAY too much money. But it did inspire me to get properly 'fit' so I know what to look for in shoes.

I agree with you on the tennis shoes - even with my super duper New Balance 1063's on, after 6-7 hours I'm feeling it.

Fit Flops - just discovered these about a month ago and really like them. I have the clog version but there are other styles include 'flips'. However they don't have enough ankle support for me for walks longer than a couple hours.

Crocs - I'm going to try one of their Rx shoes to see how they feel.

Birkenstocks - Love 'em but again not for me with my ankle issues.

SoftSpots - a friend of mine who's a nurse swears by these.

Lots of people have posted great info - good luck in your search! :thumbsup2

We were there in September, and I wore tennis shoes every day. I did start to get a blister after a few days, but then I remembered that I packed moisture wicking socks. The blister went away and my feet felt great after that. We did bring flip flops with us for when we went on water rides, but we only went on Splash Mtn and didn't get our feet wet. Good luck!!

I tried on the Keen Whispers at the Outdoorsman and they seem like they would be very comfy to walk in, plus OK to get wet. I think I am going to buy them for our trip.

I wore my Crocs to WDW and they were sooo comfortable! They are so light and have lots of holes so your feet don't get too hot in them! Plus you can get them wet! (If I get too hot, it feels nice to just dip my feet in those children's play areas with the water that squirts out of the ground!) The fact that they can get wet and you'll still be comfortable also comes in handy if it rains! It rained on our first day and my feet were totally fine in my Crocs. But my boyfriend wore sneakers and his socks got wet and he got blisters and the rest of the day was not so pleasant for him!
