Now you've all helped me 'get my head round Christmas' ;) I was wondering whether anyone could help me regarding shoes with a good arch support?

Basically I've lived in my Crocs Athens or uGg boots for the last 3 years.
For several months I have been experiencing pain in my heels and aching calves - especially on first getting up in the morning...........:sad2:

Looks like I need to buy some supportive shoes - and quickly! :)

I've just bought a pair of Clarkes supportive shoes for when I start work and have ordered some arch support insoles but I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good pair of walking shoes and, as I don't wear trousers / jeans often, shoes that would look okay with skirts? :flower3:

The main problem I'm finding is that I haven't worn a 'regular' pair of shoes for so long that they all feel restrictive.......:confused3

:grouphug:

I had a friend at work with the same problem - wearing her UGGS were to blame :scared1: I know the emu boots have better support.

She went to the local chemist who ordered her a pair of supportive insoles which made the world of difference to her and she still got to wear her regular shoes.

My Dad has this, he went to the Doctors and he said (gave it a proper name but I cannot remember it) that he has inflammed tendons and to take painkillers for it. He has to go back in a month's time if it has not cleared up.

I think it's plantar fasciitis.......I can take anti - inflammatories but realise that it won't get any better unless I wear more supportive shoes :sad2:

Hopefully the arch supports will arrive soon but I still need shoes to put them in :goodvibes

what about something like Crocs ginger? I have a pair of Cyprus Crocs and they are incredibly comfy... (but sandals so i cant wear them all winter!)... ginger look like agood replacement and I find crocs really support my feet in the right places.

Thanks, they do look quite good :thumbsup2

I love my Crocs but just think they may be a little too low heel wise - I had some 'Olivia' in the Summer and found I had a lot more heel pain and discomfort in my calves......:sad2:

Fit Flops give you very good support and have introduced boots for the winter
