Help! I'm a total tomboy, but decided to surprise my husband for our adults only trip by buying a few sundresses to wear on our trip. Well I have a slight problem because I only own Keens and converse and both worn with the dresses make me look like a complete dork even to my untrained tomboy eyes. What shoes can I buy that will be comfortable for all the walking at Disney, but will look cute with dresses? I'm at a complete loss in this department.

Thanks in advance!

Hard to say without seeing the dresses but you might be able to get away with wearing Skechers Go Walks.....so comfortable, my favourite shoe.

See how hopeless I am? I didn't even think the look of the dress mattered. Here are the dresses, and to the left, the dorky sandals.image.jpg

I'd go with an open toe sandal with those dresses. I just really love skechers as I never get blisters and they feel like I'm wearing slippers. I think these would look nice and be comfortable. Make sure you get a shoe that is secure on your foot and won't fall off on a ride. Good luck shopping :)

Keens have a super cute flat! I wear them ALL the time. Sorry I am trying to link it for you but its not loading for me. They have a few different styles- just look under their woman's section.

My light grey and white sketcher go walks go cute with short dresses and rompers. You could also go to Marshal's shoe department and try things on, I've seen some sandals I have my eyes on there that have extra cushion to it.
And if its hot may i suggest wearing some kind of tight shorts underneath the dress for the parks. Getting on and off rides in a dress can be tricky, hehe.

Cute dresses! I find that my LL Bean flip flops work quite well in the park. I think a nice plain black flip flop (with some support in it) would look really nice with your dresses. :daisy: Have fun!

I would consider Teva Mush flipflops, my all time fav for the parks, or Toms or Sanuks. Only downside about Toms and Sanuks is they don't have the support/arch that Teva Mush have. I like the Original Teva Mush rather than the Mush II. Have fun!

Three more tips from a "skirt for life wearer":

1. Glide. Get it, love it. It can be found at a running/fitness store and is used by runners for chafing issues. It's like a clear deorderant sort of thing, and I put it between my legs to stop any leg chafing. Saves me a lot of pain.
2. Practice standing, sitting and bending down in the dress. I have a couple of sundresses, and have been having issues with them flying up lately b/c of the wind! It got windy down here all of a sudden! Practice standing, sitting, and holding the darn thing down! :)
3. Put sunscreen on your feet. If you wear sandals, you may notice your feet getting hot and then getting weird tan lines! Sunscreen your feet up to prevent odd tan lines.

One more thing: have you considered maxi-skirts? They are so comfy, and are as close to pants as I like to wear in the parks. I really hate shorts, I look god-awful in them, but maxis make me look pretty and put-together in the parks. Just a thought.

I would do a pair of yellow box flip flops (they make some that look dressy - I wear them to work all summer with my dresses). They are like walking on Marshmellows.

I wear skirts every day, at WDW and everywhere else. In the summer, my go-to choices are Birkenstocks and the prettier Crocs. I love the Rhonda wedges. I have them in a few colors. Some of the Birkenstocks are really pretty, but they're expensive enough that you will want to wear them more than just one trip. And it takes a long time to get the foot bed of a new pair worn down enough to be comfortable on a day with lots of walking.

I agree that you need to have some experience wearing skirts before you wear them outside with lots of getting in and out of things. It's not impossible to be modest, but it takes a little practice. My favorite WDW skirts are loose cotton ones that hit at midcalf. They're long enough that they don't blow upwards in the wind, and I can get in and out of ride vehicles without needing shorts underneath, but they're breezy enough that I don't get too hot.

You may want to consider Clarks. They have a lot of cute shoes for women. I have never worn them considering I am a guy but the mens clarks are the only shoes I wear as they are very comfortable so I would assume the womens would be as well :smooth:
