I'm starting hospital rotations soon, and I have a feeling I'm going to be on my feet for quite some time during rotations. We have to wear business attire at all times, except when in the OR, on OB, or doing an overnight call (school/hospital policies). So I have a feeling I am going to need to find some comfortable shoes that I can wear all day and have them look good with dress clothes as well. I'm not a skirt type of person, I pretty much always will wear pants. I'm willing to spend some money if they're good quality and comfortable shoes. But it seems like the more comfortable the shoe, the uglier they look. I know I'm probably going to have to sacrifice some sort of fashion, but I don't want a giant clunky thing on my feet either. Any brands I should look at? I hate buying shoes online, but I live in NY, so most things are available here anyway. But I am at a loss of where to look. Can anyone maybe point me in the right direction?

Hope I can help!!

I must also wear dressy shoes but due to some newly developing "foot" problems, I'm having a hard time finding cute ones that are comfortable.

I have had a LOT of luck this year with the Anne Klein "i-flex" line of shoes. They make heels, but I what I really like is their dressy flats. I got a great pair of patent leather flats, with a solid base on them and they look great with dress pants. I get lots of compliments and, best of all, they don't hurt my foot. My mom has plantar fasciitis and this shoe worked for her as well. I found out that they look great with my jeans too!

When I found out I was happy with this shoe, I went and bought a second pair so that I was sure to have another pair next fall/winter. Although at Off Broadway shoes they are still selling this shoe. I believe I paid about $50 for them.

I just went to Nordstrom and got a dressier pair of these with a wedge heel that I can wear with my suits when I want to be a tad bit spiffier and need a higher heel. They are pretty comfy too but I wouldn't claim to want to be standing in them for 8 hours.

So, I'd recommend going and trying on a few pairs of this brand. Remember, it is the iflex line and not the regular Anne Klein line.

Aerosoles are also pretty comfortable too.
