I keep reading on other threads about Keen and Teva brand shoes/sandals being really comfortable to walk in around Disney. I don't seem to be able to readily find those brands in Canada - are they available in specific stores? If not, what other Canadian brands are great walking shoes/sandals? I usually just wear my New Balance sneakers every days, but would really like to be able to find walking sandals as well. I wear a 7 wide so also finding a wide size can be difficult! Any suggestions?

Okay, we're a KEEN family. Pretty much we don't wear anything else (from summer to winter). We buy from the US, since we know what sizing fits us. However, there are a couple stores up here you can use for trying on or purchasing.

Right off the top, do you have a MEC near you? If not, companies like LeBaron and other outfitters have KEEN's in stock. Perhaps check the KEEN Canada website for the list of dealers. I know they were updating it a week or so ago, so worse case, call their customer service and get the stores in your area :thumbsup2

Try Sporting Life. There is one at Sherway Gardens and another on Yonge about halfway between Eglinton and Lawrence.

Last year I bought Ecco sport sandals because I have found their shoes to be very comfortable. However, the bottom of my feet became very irritated so I switched back to my Nike sport sandals.

I just purchased a pair of Teva's from the Sears catalogue(the one with fun in the sun on the front) page 213, price $24.99
They are very comfy!!!! Bought them just for our trip, probably will buy another pair!

Keens are available at Mec, as mentioned, The Shoe Company (seems to be only mens), Winners and Tootsies. Keen Canada website is supposed to be up and running by now (I've been in contact with them several times) for online Canadian purchase), so keep checking.

Good luck, Tiger

I love my Teva strap sandals and flip flops. I saw Teva strap sandals at Coast Mountain Sports. They seem to be difficult to find this year. I wanted another pair of flip flops to wear at WDW in Aug. esp. for the water rides, like Kali and Splash. Or during the afternoon rains :) I hate walking around in soggy shoes and socks.
I didn't find my Teva flip flops, but did find a very comfy pair of Nike ones, at The Bay, 35% off too :thumbsup2 very cushion-y and arch support.

I just ordered a pair of Keen shoes from the Mountain Equipment Co-op website. (http://www.mec.com). Shipping was very reasonable and they arrived very quickly. MEC also sells Teva.

It looks like you live in Toronto, or close-by... there's a MEC store on King Street in Toronto, just a few blocks west of Union Station, and right across the street is a store called "Europe Bound" who also sell Keen & Teva (and Teva flip-flops wich are VERY comfy!)

Ooooooo! There is a Europe Bound just across from MEC here too! I never thought of looking there for my Teva flip flops!! Thanks. I have to admit, I am enjoying my new Nike flip-flops though. Only 59 days to go for WDW vacay :yay:
