Does anyone have the telephone number for this resort? I need to find out the day rate. TIA

Do you mean Comfort Suites Paradise Island. Central reservation number is 877-424-6423, direct number to hotel (Bahamas) 242-363-3680. Also www. choicehotels.com. They do not have a day rate. You must book a room for the night. You can try using the code: LGOD

We stayed at this hotel during our Oct. cruise...were able to get the LGOLD rate for about $135. or so before taxes. These rates vary as to the time of year. Just checked Choice hotel site for you...looks like they are offering internet user rates but LGOLD rate is not listed on the site (never was) so call the toll free # and just ask (they were very helpful) We had no problem "checking in" early and getting the keys and vouchers for Atlantis. I gave the keys right back to the clerk and we never even saw the room. :smooth:

Is there a maximum number allowed in a room? I will be traveling w/approximately 7 people (5 Adults and 2 Children) and was wondering if all of us will be allowed to use the Atlantis facilities. TIA

I believe there is a maximum # of people(4 or 5?) per room, after which you have to book a 2nd room.

There were some detailed threads about Comfort Suites on cruisecritic.com,the "Ports of Call" message board.

we were there in the summer and had to pay a huge surcharge for my two teenage kids.....they claimed that over the age of 15 were charged the adult surcharge.....i don't recall what it was but it was quite an exhorbitant amount of money...

Thanks Awatt, I got the answer from cruise critic - Max 4 people per room so I would have to get another room for the other 3 adults.

yes it's a maximum 4 people per room, but remember that the room rate they quote you is only for 2 people in the room...
beyond two, you have to pay a surcharge....
i can't remember how much it was, but it was at least $25/per person plus tax.....it might have been more than that.....

If I remember correctly, Atlantis allows 5 to a room Comfort Suites is 4. We have 4 Children for a total of 6 so we had to get 2 rooms. there may have been a small surcharge for teens at Comfort Suites but I remember a much larger one for Atlantis. As with all resort areas the taxes on the rooms was quite high (12 to 15 %) I think the total was right around 300. for the 6 of us for the day plus taxi. My teens had a great time and would go again in a second. Our favorite part: the lazy river

Sorry but the max at Atlantis is 4 to a room. I 've tried EVERTHING I could to get my family of 5 into one room but they would NOT budge (called 4 times). I ended up foing with 2 rooms at Comf. suites @$184.00 each. (April 04) The kids really want to do Atlantis for the day.

could someone please give me a little info about this hotel and what todo there??

My understanding is the big attraction is the swim area where you must be a registered guest. I think the other things casino, acquarium are accessabile with out being a guest. Does comfort suites issue each person there own pass versus one pass for your room making two rooms necessary for a family of 5?

Check it out at Atlantis.com
It is FANTASTIC. The only thing that was not really great was their beach. Kinda steep drop-off, usually some fairly high surf... (No way that DS could get in the water....) And it is not all set up with beach chairs, no shade, etc... We found it a little un-inviting, and returned to the pools and other resort amenities. Had a great day!

Also, we rented at the Comfort Suites for our day at Atlantis. (It is a very short and simple walk across the street.) And, I believed that the room rate was for up to 4 persons. (I have heard of the high surcharge at the Atlantis.) There is a small mandatory Bahamian energy tax per person. Or some such fee as that. But I was not aware of any Extra Person surcharge at all.

We booked through the Comfort Suites online... But had pulled up Placestostay.com where promotional rates are listed that I have never seen elsewhere. We got our room for around $135.00 plus the taxes/fees. We just called the Comfort 800 number and asked for the LGOLD rate.

When I called they said the adults were given passes and children could accompany them to the Atlantis facility. Has anyone tried this with 3 kids accompanying 2 adults since the room limit is 4. Since you actually aren't staying in the room will it be an issue?
My DH will most likely check out the casino anyway.

We were there in late Oct with a CS room. EVERYONE had to have a wrist band including the children (max 4 at CS) and believe me, there was someone everywhere checking!! DH could forfeit his wristband to the other child....but he will not even be able to go find you at the pool areas.

I just checked my paperwork and the surcharges for CS are $7.50 for children over 16 years old and $3.50 for children 12-15 yrs. Under 12..no surcharge.
I believe Atlantis charges $25 surcharges for everyone 12 & over.

We just got back and used the comfort suites. It worked great,
DD loved Atlantis and considering what we would have paid for a shore excursion I thought the price was fine. One note, if you are
planning on showering after the day at Atlantis pack your own shampoo, they don't offer in the room at comfort suites.

Aslo if the LGOLD rate is not avaliable try AAA, when I booked the
discount was the same for both.

I will definately book there again!

My impression from Comfort Suites is you pay the surcharges as mentioned earlier but you are still limited to a party of 4.

One other thing for those who have done this did you take a taxi from port to Comfort Suites? If so how many will they allow in the taxi?

There are multitudes of van-type taxis that are waiting at the port. So you usually have to wait till they fill (which doesn't take long). I think they held like 10 or so and the charge was $4 per person.
